Why the hell did he have to be born into a rich home? More so into a family where they had no private life... Everything he did or said always surfaced on all social media platforms in less than twenty four hours... And his brother!! Frederick.. The good for nothing that goes around sleeping with women of all kinds.. He wondered how that hadn't gotten into the news yet..
"Welcome!" A voice jolted him out of his thoughts.
He stared at the female figure without answering...
"Will you like to eat? I would tell the maids to serve you" that was his step mother, Catherine....
"No Catherine... Thanks"
She smiled sadly at him.... She had been trying so hard to win him over ever since she got married to his father several years ago but he just wouldn't open up to her....
She sighed.. "Okay but in-case you feel hungry don't hesitate to let me know"
He nodded.
"Darren?".
"Hmm?".
"Can I sit?" She asks and he nods..
Catherine takes a seat on the bed.
"Look Darren, I know I'm not your real mother but you can at least tell me what's bothering you.. It's written all over your face".
"If you're so concerned about me then tell your son to stay out of my business.. Tell your husband who happens to be my father to let me live my life in peace" he says rudely and Catherine sighs..
"I love you as much as I love Frederick... And nothing would make me happier than to see you both interacting like brothers should..".
"Never Catherine!! Never!! Your son is a chronic womanizer,a flirt,a fraud and a whole lot of disgusting things... Look,I'm sorry but its the truth. Frederick and I are completely worlds apart".
"I know.... " she admits sniffing..
She knew her son was bad news.. He was a lot of bad things..
And her husband always supported him..
God knows she had tried her possible best to get Frederick to change but he was like a tick stuck on the skin of a dog..
"I'll leave you to rest now... Goodnight son".
Darren didn't reply.. He watched her leave before he laid back, tossing and turning willing for sleep to come.

THE NEXT MORNING.
"What do you mean you can't help us sir!!" Elvis screams at the receptionist in frustration...
They had arrived at the bank thirty minutes ago but they were being delayed... For some reason, they were being denied access to the safe at the bank...
"I can't help you in anyway sir.. You said it yourself, it's been almost twenty years and those that were in charge have all retired.. You will have to come back some other day so we can verify what you are saying.." The Lady tells him.
"What nonsense...

. I have every right to that safe... I have evidence. Safe number 9501 belongs to Benjamin Arthur right?" Elvis asks and waits impatiently as the lady taps vigorously on the computer keyboards before her and stared at the screen, nodding her head.
"Yes Sir. There is.. But I just can't allow you access without confirmation. You have to prove that you are truly his son,only then can we allow you access. Or you can bring along a relative...".
"Let's go Elvis" Emerald tells him..
"Arrghh Godammit!" He swears and follows her out..

Somewhere in the same bank...
He enters the washroom and locks the door before bringing out his cell phone.
The boss had to know..
He was amongst the men who had burnt the entire family years ago so how come those two people are suddenly claiming to be Benjamin Arthur's children?..
No,the boss had to know...
Dialing a number, the man places the phone to his ear......
