"Umm i... I have to go... Thanks for everything" she breaths and starts to walk away quickly to avoid him asking any questions... As she continued walking away, she could hear him calling out her name telling her to stop but she paid no heed.. . Soon, she could hear him shouting... Sighing, she stops walking and turns. She frowns when she sees the look of shock and horror written all over his face... She could see him running fast towards her..... "Emerald watch out!!" He screams while running towards her.. She turns to her side and realises she was standing in the middle of the road, a big truck speeding towards her with a few people shouting for her to move out of the way..... With a quick reflex action, she closes her eyes and jumps, somersaulting backwards twice and falls when she loses balance after her elbow hits a nearby pole. "Ouch!" She grimaced and sat up wincing in pain...

"Are you okay? Miss Arthur?" Darren comes to her, checking for bruises... "I'm okay..

. Just a scratch on my elbow" she lifts her arm showing him the wound... He dips his hand into his pocket for a handkerchief and ties it around her arm... "Wow!!" He breathes running his fingers through his hair. "What?". "That! Where did you learn how to do that? I mean.. Wow!". She chuckles, suddenly feeling proud of herself.... "I learnt martial arts". "Wow!! You were amazing... And flexible.. I'm impressed. You're really good". "Thank you" she blushes battering her eyelashes.. "Come on. Let me help" he helps her on her feet and begins to guide her towards his car. "Wait!". "What? I'm not going to kidnap you okay". "I actually wanted to apologise to you". "For?". Emerald lowers her head contemplating whether to tell him or not... Should I? But what if he gets mad? No, he must have forgotten by now. It's been four freaking years! Her conscience tells her.. She sighs.. Well, what harm will it cause if she told him... "Umm... Earlier you were talking about an encounter you had with a certain girl.. Actually... I was the one" He stares at her confused for a moment and then his demeanor deepens, his face contorting into a frown.. "So it was you? The one who slapped me twice for saving you?". He looked at her, taking in her features.. The same dark glowing skin, same features. The only difference was that she was now a fully grown woman. "I'm sorry about that". He didn't reply.. Instead he kept frowning.. She was the reason he had received so much humiliation that day. His friends who had been observing the entire scene had taunted and ridiculed him. Soon, it had became the talk of his school. Matters got out of hands when the news reached his father. His father for one had never appreciated nor showed him love for as long as he could remember. Instead, his younger step brother was the family's favourite. His father had taunted him for letting a common girl slap him in public forgetting his reputation was at stake. And soon, like wildfire, the news spread and bloggers were making money by posting false stories and fabricating lies on social media... He wasn't surprised because he was the famous Chief Benson's son and so whatever he did was known to the public... "What the hell is this Darren!!" He could recall his father screaming as he barged into his room, flinging a tablet at him.. Confused, he lifted the tablet to see what was there and the shock on his face was unmistakable.. There on the screen was boldly written. "Minister and business tycoon, Chief Benson's eldest son, Darren Adams Benson was caught assaulting and harrasing a girl in public hereby resulting in a slap from the mysterious girl". "Serves him right, such barbaric acts from a man. His family must be ashamed of him........... Because he's from a rich family, he goes around harassing fragile and defenseless women.. ...... How disgusting!!! ....... Such Cheap behaviour!!.."

Were some of the heart wrenching comments he read under the post online as he scrolled through the page.... He shut his eyes and flinged the tablet away.. "Father... I can explain....I did not.." "Don't father me, you dimwit... You are a disgrace. How on earth could I father a son like you? Because of you, my reputation is on the line!!!! You are just like your useless mother!!" His father had screamed at him. "Father!!! You can insult me all you want but don't tarnish my mother's memory.... How can you speak ill of a dead person like that dad!! She was my mother and your wife too!!! Just because you remarried and had another son doesn't mean you should talk ill of my mom!!" He shouted back springing to his feet. "How dare you!!!" Chief Benson growled and slapped him hard.... Darren held his cheek in utmost shock "father... You do realise I'm a man now. You don't need to hit me just because I spoke the truth" "I can hit you for as long as I want since you have refused to think....pack your bags, first thing tomorrow you will be leaving the country". "No dad!! After several years i just got back from the States a few weeks ago and you want me to go back? Why dad?". "You have already started creating havoc with your return...

. Whether you like it or not, you are leaving this country tomorrow morning and you aren't coming back until these stupid rumors have died down" he snapped and walked out leaving Darren standing with his hands still on his cheeks...

And that's was how yet again, he found himself in the states away from his family..... And the reason was her. "Goodnight miss Arthur" he breathes and turns to walk away. "It's been four years Mr Adams and you are still mad at that small incident?". A small incident!! Yet it caused him so much... A small incident that sent his name and pictures spreading on the internet like wild fire and portraying him as a rascal. "It will be better you go home miss. And let this be a strictly professional acquaintance. Goodbye" Emerald watches in awe as he slips into his car and drives off leaving her stranded....

Okay so, practically these days when any of your family members is popular or a celebrity, any little thing you do becomes a story on social media and that's what happened to Darren.. Unfortunately he's also chief Benson's son..... Who can guess who Darren's younger step brother is???
