The lady watches his Secretary leave and turned her attention back to him.... "Hey baby.. I missed you". "What are you doing here Carol?" He asks as she sits on his laps. . "You left me all alone in the States so I decided to fly down here to see my baby". He sighs "we've already discussed this Carol and.." "Can you two be a bit respectful... We still have an unfinished business" Emerald interrupts feeling disgusted. "And who the heck are you woman!!" Carol yells at her... Emerald keeps mute and stares at Darren, hoping he will at least tell her they were working but he kept mute... Frowning, she gets up and grabs the files and CD she had placed on the table earlier... "It seems you aren't interested in knowing about my findings or about winning the case... Enjoy your romantic moment... When you are ready to get to the bottom of this issue, you know where to find me.. I hate such mannerless interruptions!" She spat clearly angry.. "Hey who do you think you are to talk like that to my baby and I huh.. You scum bag!! I will teach you a lesson!" Carol grunts as she gets up and walks towards her.

. She raises her hand to slap her when Emerald caught her hand in mid air and twisted it behind her.. Carol winces in pain as her bones twitched.. "Don't you dare mess with me" Emerald says with a voice void of emotions before releasing her and walking out the door leaving Carol holding her arm and groaning in pain... ****** "What's wrong with you Darren!! Damn it!! She almost broke my arm and you sit there without moving an inch?!!" Carol yells at Darren who's head was held between his hands... "You brought this upon yourself Carol.. You barged into my office while I was working. That was disrespectful" he whispers.. "Really? Then why didn't you say a word when I kissed you?". "You took me by surprise okay.. I thought you were abroad.. Why did you even come here anyways? There's nothing between us Carol". "And the s-x? It was just a passing moment for you?". "Listen. I was disturbed.. I got drunk. One thing led to the other and that's it okay.. So please just leave". "This isn't over Darren.. It isn't!!!" Carol screams and walks out banging the door loudly behind her. ****** "Son of a b.... Arrghh... Such insult!! What nonsense!!" Emerald fumes as she steps out of the building and flags a cab... She shuts her eyes as the memories of Carol sitting on his laps and kissing him flooded her mind... It made her feel, uneasy, angry, jealous.. "Heck no... Jealous? No way!!" She hits her forehead and sits in the cab as it drives off to her house. ****** THE NEXT MORNING.. "Can you do that for me?". "Sure sir" Emerald answers as her boss hands over the company's documents to her.. "Please check thoroughly..the seems to be mishap somewhere" "I will" she gets up and walks out heading towards her office..... ******* She was busily typing when a knock interrupted her.. "Yes?" "Excuse me Emerald" her boss' secretary, Tonia says as soon as she steps inside.. "Did I make any mistakes with the files?" She asks saving her work on the desktop.. "Oh no.. Actually, someone is here to see you.. He says his name is Darren Adams..". "Tell him I'm busy" she frowns.. "Do want me to tell him that?". "Yes... Make him leave... On a second thought, let me go meet him... Where's he?". "Umm...in the lobby". "Thank you Tonia" she gets up adjusting her skirt.. "Welcome.... Errr Emerald". "Yes?". "That's a beautiful name... And you are very pretty too". "Thank you". "Listen I know we have never spoken casually before but there's a party tomorrow for my boyfriend.. Will you please come and help me arrange a surprise for him?". "hmm i'd rather not Tonia...". "You should loosen up a bit... I've noticed how you walk around with a straight face... You hardly mingle when all the workers go for lunch.. You hardly talk nor smile..." Tonia observes. "With a life like mine, you would probably do same". "The more reason why you should loosen up.. There's more to life Emerald... So much more... We could even be friends... Please come with me to the party... Please!!" Tonia pouts. "Okay fine... I've never attended a party but I will.. Provided you'll give me clothes because all I have in my wardrobe are work clothes and jeans and tops". "Not to worry... I got you covered.. Thanks..

He turns to face her and it takes everything in her not to ogle him.. Damn!!! Was it just her or she found it extremely s-xy when a man rolls his sleeves up to his elbows.. And those muscles ripping through his shirt.. Those biceps.. That face.. Oh he was hot.. No kidding.. She gulps hard staring at him,her anger from the previous day slowly vanishing..
