The Dormitory (A Sequel) - Episode 27
Ngozi and his father rounded the dining table while Esther went to the kitchen to prepare a lunch.
"What really happened?" her father asked and motioned closely resting his hand on the table.
"I have told you dad. The house is haunted. I saw a spirit mother and her daughter and the daughter has a resemblance with a girl I saw in school," she said amidst spittle that had engulfed her mouth. She gestured to her daddy and moved to the sink by the side of the wall and spat it out then positioned her mouth under the tap water and washed it vigorously.
She walked back to the dining table. "Are you saying your mother was haunted by the ghost since she also went searching for you at the same location. How were you able to escape and she didn't?" he asked.
"Dad, we didn't go together. Maybe she knocked at the gate and nobody opened for her. That might be another angle......and she walked away.' His dad gazed at her keenly and she pulled her face away. Esther walked into the dining table immediately with a tray arranged with covered plates of food on it. She placed each plates on their front.
"You can start eating," her father said gazing at Ngozi while he opened the plate.
"Dad, everything is beginning to make sense to me now. I think Oyindamola belongs to a cult

. She sees spirits and hallucinates a lot." His dad gazed at her then shook his head and continued eating his food.
***
Oyindamola walked down the little path that led to the stream with Ayinke while they both held a bucket and chattered all along the path.
"Aww, this is beautiful," Oyindamola said as she saw the water gushing out from a carved wooden embarkment immediately they got to the stream. From their hut to the river was just a minute stroll. It was a hot afternoon and nobody was at sight.
"That's the beauty of nature," Ayinke replied. They both walked into the slow moving stream and fetched a bucket-full of water from the wooden embarkment. The humming of the animals and cawing of the birds felt surreal on Oyindamola's ears as she listened attentively while sitting on a fallen branch. The wind that blew effortlessly simmered into her body as she breathed and exhaled the warm air. Ayinke was inside the stream dipping her head slowly into the water to feel the coldness of the water. She gushed as she did it repeatedly.
Oyindamola caught a glimpse of a woman on a white apparel by the side of the bush. The woman pushed the grasses away while she strode out of the bush. Oyindamola felt a hand tickled her, she shook her body, turned back immediately and it was a little girl grinning at her as she flashed her spirit face. She screamed facing Ayinke. Ayinke transformed to a mermaid immediately and Oyindamola fell backward to the ground at the shock landing her head on a stone.

Ngozi's father, Ngozi, Esther and Ochuko all drove to Oyindamola's house with a police van that rode at their back conveying three policemen. They all alighted at the gate; passersby took more than a glance as they passed by. The three policeman knocked and the gate creaked opened by itself.

. The smell of dead body saturated the whole compound. Those outside could smell the foul ooze.
"Ewww," the policemen all covered their noise.
They all rushed in, and by the side of the gate was the dead body of Ngozi's mother flocked by house flies and gashes all over her body. Her had lolled by the side. Everybody gazed at the dead body with their mouth agape as endless tears streamed down from Ngozi and Esther's eyes. Each successive cries from Ngozi emitted a sound. Ochuko's face turned moody while he folded his hand below his chest. Ngozi's father tried hard to conceal his tears as he shook his head in sorrow.
