Mirage - Episode 39

OH AND A HAPPY BORTHDAY TO OUR NUMBER ONE WRITER. ITS FITTING THAT SHE WAS BORN ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR TOO. LOL. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBI LOBA. MORE INSPIRATION DARLING. NOW LET'S GET BACK TO OUR STORY.

       The lone man sitting behind the wheel of the gray car parked along the road surveyed the area. His target he has been tailing just ran into a tree and people had already surrounded the car trying to get him out.
"Sh-t" he grinded out and jam his hand on the wheel. His boss wouldn't be thrilled if he lost his target. His colleague already got the girl and was on his way to the boss while he was here in a complicated mess. How do you kidnap an injured man in broad day light and under the watchful eyes of the nosy people who were trying to help and also the gossipers who were already narrating the course of the accident while gesticulating with their hands and adding their own details to make the story an epic one.

  He sighs at their antics while racking his brain for a way to get Noah out of the ruckus.
"Yea, he just went out of control." A man passing by the gray car is saying into his phone.
"Yes off the express road by the fly over. He's unconscious

. How long will it take for the ambulance to get here?"
The ever listening ears of the car driver perks to listen to the convo the passerby is having on his phone. Yea, a solution has just been dropped into his lap, he thought.
  He quickly turn on the ignition and fly into the city where he was sure an ambulance would come from.
  He finds a quiet road and parks by the side, patiently waiting for the ambulance. He grabs a cigar from the packet lying in the passenger's seat and light it up with the lighter he always carries in his pocket. He puffs out smoke through his nostrils and mouth as he plot his ingenious plan in his head.

  The siren of the ambulance gets to his ears before he sees the van coming towards him. He waits for the van to get closer to him before he drives with full speed into their way. The ambulance screech to halt barely scratching the grey car. The worried driver gets out of the ambulance to check the damage.
  The driver of the grey car place his head on the steering and stays motionless to create the illusion of unconsciousness.
"Hey! Are you okay?" The ambulance driver ask while looking into the car. His heart beat spikes up as he sees the supposedly unconscious driver of the gray car.
"Sir? Hey" he calls out then try to jerk the supposedly injured man awake through the open window of the gray car. The driver of the gray car seize this opportunity and grab the hand of the ambulance driver.
"What__" the sentence of the ambulance driver doesn't get completed as his hand is yanked into the car with force numerous times and his head slam into the roof of the car. The gray car driver senses the disorientation of his victim and he quickly push his door open thereby slamming it into the body of the ambulance driver who falls to the tarred road, his head bloody and his eyes glassy.
"Sorry, but no sorry" the callous man say casually before firing two shots into the body of the driver.
  The gunshot sounds is heard by the ambulance attendant and he pushes the door to know what's up. The callous man is already behind the van waiting for him. He fires two shots into the young boy's body and the limp body fall on the road as well.
  A triumphant smirk is plastered on his hard face as he grabs a spare uniform from the back of the ambulance and put it on.
  He quickly move to the driver's seat of the ambulance and speed up towards the scene of Noah's accident.

The unsuspecting crowd even help him load Noah into the ambulance and bid him a safe trip to the hospital. He couldn't help smirking as he drove the big ambulance towards where he parked his car so he could finally get his hostage to the boss.
He can already see his car in the distance and he speeds up to get to it. Suddenly a black car drives by him and a device is thrown into his lap as he drives. The device starts emitting smoke and his eyes start to sting. Tear gas? What the hell. His eyes fight his will and starts to close up. The burn of the gas spread into his throat and lungs and he starts hacking like a tuberculosis patient. He knew he got to get out of the car fast to avoid killing himself. He quickly step on the brake and pulls the door of the ambulance open.
"Oh my chest." he groans as his cold air from outside blast his stinging eyes. Sweet relief start to wash over him and he blinks his eyes open only to be punched in the face by a pretty woman.
The blow takes him by surprise and he staggers back.
"You b-tch" he sneers before rushing at the woman who widen her stance then connect her feet to the back of his neck. He falls to the tarred road, his hands felt bruised already. How was he going to live the fact that he got beaten by a woman? He gets back on his feet only for his eyes to widen in shock as a man smash a hard box to his head.
"Fag__" he falls limp to the ground.

Sylvia:

"Noah!" I scream and launch myself into his arms.
"You are alive" I felt like I was seeing a ghost when Victor finally got the ambulance door open and Noah got out to smash the first aid box into that idiot's head. We had been on our way to Noah's beach house in abraka when a speeding car almost slammed into us. I was going to lay it to the driver but imagine my shock when I saw it was Noah. He didn't pay me any attention then but just drove on like a madman. I am so thankful I had Victor follow behind him if not, we wouldn't have seen him get injured and he would have been taken away by that monster.
"Boss" I hear Victor say as a way of greeting and I pull away from Noah.
"Sylvia. There'll be time for all these but we need to go get Minerva. She isn't safe. I am not leaving her behind again" he says with raw emotion and I nod.
"Come on, we can use our rental car" victor says and we all follow him to the car we parked haphazardly across the road.
A ringing phone makes us stop and I turn back to see it's Noah's.
"What?! What do you mean Minerva wasn't home and there was blood on the way to our house?" Noah is saying with his face white as sheets.
"Minerva is missing. Her number isn't even going through. F-ck!" Noah smashes his phone against the road in anger.
"Noah" I call his name softly.
"I let her go again. I should have stayed with her" he lamented. Unshed tears make his eyes glassy.
"All hope isn't lost. We know who is responsible for all these" I tell him and feel every bone in his body go stiff.
"Ivy" he breathes out.
"Give me the keys" he spits at Victor who does without question.
"Noah, let's go with you. She's a dangerous lunatic" I say but he's not even listening. He just gets into the driver's seat. I quickly jump into the back seat likewise victor as noah drives like a lunatic to Ivy's house.

Ivy:

Why isn't that moron picking up the call? I need to know about the whereabouts of Noah who also isn't picking up his phone. Does he already have his memories back ? Sh-t! I shouldn't have let him go to that stupid beach house. I pace my sitting room nervously. I feel like I am on borrowed time, that any minute now the police would come here to get me.

  Ding dong ding dong ding dong
"Who wants to bring down my house with the noise?" I want to match to whoever is at the door and give them a piece of my mind but something tells me I should be careful.

. I pull my car from the couch and hold it in front of me as I go to the peephole. I see Noah standing there looking towards the peephole and my hackles rise.
"Ivy honey, open the door. The harmattan is damn harsh" he says sweetly. Too sweetly. Something ain't right.
"Come on ivy, what is taking you so long?" I look at the door suspiciously. A shadow pass my windows and I know something is up. I step back from the door slowly.
"Open the door damn it! Ivy!

Nnoah seems desperate now. I better get out of here. He's going to lose it. I quickly turn back around and walk towards my back yard. I push the door open only to come face to face with Victor and that woman I beat at the beach.

"Going somewhere?" The cheeky woman ask with a smirk.
