Elijah had been right all along.

They were here.

The evil Vampires were here, and we really didn't have to be outside to notice their shadowy silhouettes that'd suddenly surrounded our camp.

"I guess the battle is about to begin," Noah said through gritted teeth.

"And you'd better not betray us!" Thato warned sternly, clenching his fist as he glared at Elijah, and the rest of his group members.

"We are in this together," Musa said reassuringly.

The typical Lulu would've panicked in a situation like this one, she would've gotten nothing short of anxious, and apprehensive. But at that point, I was different . I might've been scared, however, the intense feel of rage and revenge had been way stronger. These were the same set of monsters that'd killed both my parents. They'd ruthlessly turned me into an orphan. And I was.. boiling mad!

"Lulu, you don't have to witness this, if you don't want to.. you can just remain in here," Milo had then whispered to me, staring into my eyes in a way that wouldn't have been uncomfortable if it were Elijah.

But "No!" I instantly interjected. "This is my battle!" I snapped, and I'd watched him slowly back off..

Once outside, the atmosphere was a little dramatic, a perfect blend to the situation that was presently at hand

. The evil demons were a group of five, and although we were greater in number considering our unusual allies, their presence was still intimidating in its own right.
They were all masked. They looked bigger, smothered by an aura of superiority that made us look feebleer in comparison.

On sighting me, they'd gotten unusually excited, looking at me like a predator staring at its prey. And at that point, I realised I was at a huge risk of suffering the same fate as my parents, but I'd rather die trying to save myself, I'd concluded.

Noah, Milo, and Thato had swiftly shifted into the big dogs that they were. Elijah, Musa, Gab, and Thomas had done the same.

And in the split of a millisecond, the long awaited battle began.

It was a phenomenon that even words weren't enough to describe. To call it chaos, even sounded like a huge understatement. The sound of angry growls spread across the slightly moist air. The pain accompanied by the clashes of clawed hands could be perceived throughout the Zonke forest, and yet, I'd remained invisible amongst it all..

Well, until it happened.

The most superior of the masked demon had suddenly punched Elijah on the rib. At this, a soft moan had escaped from his lips, portraying his evident pain. But the thing is, I'd also moaned in pain. He was bleeding and so was I.

The enemy had jabbed him on the neck again, and as he screamed in pain. So did I..

The masked demon was unaware of what was going on, but Elijah had noticed, as his golden yellow orbs had pierced into mine in a way that I was quite familiar with.

. And that was when my instinct began its work again.

I was unconscious of my thoughts and actions at the time, all I'd been aware of was the movement of my legs as I headed to where Elijah was. I was literally walking towards the enemy, yet I didn't care. Just a second flash, and the demon could've grabbed me and obviously rip me to bits, but it turned out my instinct was way stronger.

In that very moment, I'd locked hands with Elijah, shielding our team from any form of danger that lurked. The golden light that'd sprung forth as a result of our locked hands was similar to the one in my dream, our dreams. And to us, and rest of our team, it served as a shield of comfort.

However, to the enemies, it was lethal, it was burning right through their skin, tearing them apart, until they were nothing but mere ashes.

"We did it!" Gab had shrieked joyously together with everyone else, but I'd been too weak to participate in our then victory.

I felt myself fall tiredly into the secure arms of Elijah.

"Lulu." Elijah didn't say more than that, and he really didn't have to. I understood what it meant. With all that's happened, it was quite obvious.

I was his mate, and he was mine

But then, his expression had suddenly morphed into that of confusion. And the same went for the rest of the guys.

"What is it?" I managed to ask, despite my fatigue.

"Your eyes," Milo had responded vaguely.

"Your right eye is green, and the other is red." Noah elaborated.

And they'd all smiled warmly, including myself.

The manifestation of my father's genes was finally here.

Now, I was a banshee, and an Alpha; an Alphee

And suddenly, the Zonke forest finally felt like home.

THE END.
