I loved drawing minimalist, rough-edged sketches. It was something that came naturally to me. And ever since I'd heard the word Vampires, I'd often graphically portrayed what I imagined them to look like, based of course, on the somewhat vague descriptions that I'd been given.

That particular afternoon was sunny, and I was unusually alone, sat by the riverbank, as my pen made a light shade on the blank parchment. Everywhere was quiet, but not in a way that I was used to . Still, it didn't change the fact that it was comfy. The sun was a little bit harsh on my dark skin, but its reflection on the continuous flow of water was almost magical, sparkly, in a way that beautified nature.

Long canines. The two words echoed in my head as I sketched an exaggerated version of it, making the edges as prominent as I wondered.

Stoic expression. I thought again, recollecting the exact words Noah had used. It was difficult to morph that very feature, but I'd tried my best anyway, shaping the brows into the most insensitive demeanor I could afford.

Eyes could be of a crimson red or a golden yellow shade. Noah had also specifically stated, however, that was of no relevance to my black and white portrait..

The climax of my masterpiece had soon drawn near, and as I ploughed through the finished piece of drawing, it felt like I was really staring at a vampire in the face.

I stared at it for a while, taking in the features of the supernatural being that I was sure to meet sometime soon, but the thing is, he was also staring back at me.

. not through the paper, but in person.

He was stood upright, merely three feet away, and my gaze wouldn't stop glancing from the paper, then back to him. My drawing was a perfect replica of what he looked like. I'd pictured it so well.. but if only that felt like a relief.

At that point, I went numb, dumb. Its golden yellow eyes was his most prominent feature, and those pair wouldn't stop staring intently at me either. In a state of sheer panic, the flimsy piece of paper had flown from my shaky hand, and with a resultant landing onto the river, whilst shattering into bits in the process.. I knew I was going to suffer the same fate in the clawed hands of the blood-thirsty predator in front of me.

Overcome by fear, my eyes began to ooze out gush of salty water, and my predator wouldn't stop moving close, and closer, until there was absolutely no distance between us..

He smelled extraordinarily nice for a predator, I must say.

. A mixture of fragrance that I couldn't pinpoint exactly. He'd then made a short audible inhalation, almost as if he was sniffing the aroma of my seemingly delicious blood, whilst his clawed hands had also made its way across my face. Yet, nothing. I felt like he was taking his time. I felt like I was a delicious meal he didn't want to rush over.

I'd never felt so scared in my entire life.

"Lulu," My name had suddenly escaped from his lips, bringing his long canine into proper view. And only in that moment did I dare to make a long-lasting eye contact.

There was a lot of questions running through my thought, none of which I'd actually said out loud. I was still too stunned..by everything. His gaze wouldn't shift from mine, just like mine wouldn't shift from his. I felt like he was reading me, but I really didn't mind. My erstwhile fear had soon become replaced by an inexplicable sense of comfort, and at that same point, his lethal features also dwindled to the point of nonexistence. Suddenly, he was human.

An absolutely attractive human.

"Lulu," I'd heard my name again, but this time, the single word had escaped from Noah's lips.
And as I slowly rouse from sleep, it really didn't take long for me to realise it was all just a dream.

Or wasn't it?
