The Dormitory (A Sequel) - Episode 16
"What happened?" Yewande asked looking exhausted. They all gazed at each others.
"...and why is she still sleeping?" A girl quipped in.
"It's none of your business. I wish I'm a deep sleeper like her. Y'all disturbed my precious sleep," another one said and hissed. They all went back to their beds while some were able to sleep, others didn't and they chattered amongst themselves. Ngozi gazed at Oyindamola and their eyes locked together. It was dark so they weren't able to see each other clearly. Oyindamola climbed down from her bed and walked towards Ngozi. She sat on her bed and held her hands.
"What did you see?" Oyindamola asked.
"A little girl in a white dress that barely reached her knee. The white dress was as sparkly as the morning star." Oyindamola laughed, "this your description, eh. Are we in a literature class?" She said rhetorically.
"Why did you ask what I saw?" Ngozi asked and her eyes widened. Oyindamola eyes welled in tears. Ngozi couldn't notice it because it was dark. She used her hands to obstruct the tears from rolling down like a flowing river.
"I had a scary dream," she blurted immediately and burst into crying. She tried to control herself but it wasn't forthcoming.
"I'm sorry

. What happened?" Ngozi patted her back to calm her down.
"I dreamt that my dad died and during his burial, while at the grave, I saw a woman on a black flowing overall and her daughter on a white gown staring at me in an uncanny way. At the other side was a young lady staring at Mum and I."
"Really?"
"Yes, and the lady looks familiar." Oyindamola gestured in fear and her eyes ran through the whole room.
"Oyin, you are scaring me," Ngozi said and gulped down some saliva, "by the way, how who is she?"
"I think she is one of my mum's friend. I saw her in a picture with my mum."
"Well, maybe she is dead, and you are thinking too much about her."
"No! I don't even know her. Just from the picture."
"Well, it's nothing," Ngozi said. Ngozi adjusted a bit for Oyindamola to lie down beside her. They laid by each others side till they finally slept. They were awoken by the bell for a breakfast.
It was a Saturday morning. After their breakfast, some parents had arrived to take their children home. Tope(Sheila's mother) had arrived earlier and took her home before Ngozi's mother arrived. They bade each others goodbye.
"We will till meet at home," Ngozi said. They were remaining ten in the room and Yewande was among. Their parents promised them that they would come for them during the day and some on Sunday morning. Yewande was also fund of leaving the dormitory on Sundays but usually arrived on Saturday evening. She told her mum that she always want to be among the last to leave the hostel and first to arrive.
Oyindamola's mother hasn't even called to assure Oyin the day she will come for her. Oyindamola sat on the bunk with her legs folded as she flipped from a page to pages of the novel she said wanted to read. Others discussed about yesterdays incident but she didn't join their chatters. She got bored and dropped the book on her bed then walked out of the room.
She opened the door and as she was about to turn and close it, it jammed by itself. By the other side down the corridor was Junior secondary school three's dormitory.

. She saw two girls discussing and she walked down the stair. Before she reached down the last staircase, she saw a girl sitting on the last ground of the staircase. She assumed she was a junior in either Junior secondary school one or two pupil. She ignored and walked down past her. Immediately she wanted to take a turn and walk out of the dormitory.
"Are you mad, can't you see me your sister. Oyindamola, be gone," she heard a loud shrilled voice from the girl at her back. She made to turn as she freaked out and the girl descended on her throwing her on the floor.
"Noooo!!!!" Oyindamola cried while struggling on the floor.
The next hour she opened her eyes, she saw herself in the bed covered with a bedspread and her neck hurt badly from a scratch.
"Mummy Nurse," she muttered staring at their dormitory's nurse and her assistant.
"I hope you are fine," her assistant said. She replied affirmatively. Her mum walked in with her luggage not long after.
"How are you my daughter," she dropped them by the side, ran to where Oyindamola laid and hugged her.

While they drove home, Bimpe and her mum observed some silence for about ten minutes before Oyindamola broke the silence. Driving from All Girls' College to their home was three hours drive. It was an outskirt of Lagos; Badagry.
"How is dad, I hope he is fine?"
Bimpe halted the brake by the side of the bush, and rested her head on the steering, and tears rolled down effortlessly from her eyes down her cheeks.
