The Dormitory (A Sequel) - Episode 21
It was a Monday afternoon and Ngozi dashed out of her house. Her mother had gone to work as she usually did during the weekdays. Ngozi always stayed at home watching the television and sleep in between, while Esther stayed in the kitchen till she was done with the house chores. Her father lived in Abuja and visited on rare occasions.
"Where you dey go?" Their gateman asked in a thick accented warri pidgin.
"I'm going to my friend's place. Is there a problem?"
"You tell Esther, so?" He asked in a pidgin, and his eyes bulged out.
"She is busy in the kitchen and I didn't want to disturb her. Stop querying me," she rolled her eyes.
"You for tell am. Na the right thing to do, so if anything happen, we go know wetin we go do before madam eat us raw."
Ngozi sighed, "it's you something will happen to not me," she hissed and walked out of the gate swinging her waist.
"At least, you don tell me. I don know where you dey go and go find you come if you no return on time," he said while his voice trailing off as Ngozi walked down the road, and he stayed at the gate and watched her walking not bothered.

Ngozi got to the gate and knocked but nobody answered; she paced around for few seconds. She peered through the tiny hole on the small gate and the it opened immediately her body rested on it

. She walked in and everywhere looked deserted. The door of the boys squatter was wide open. She peeped through if she would see the gateman but nobody was there. The room was filled with dusts like somewhere that had been abandoned for over a year. She drifted backward and kept walking towards the house. The wind was blowing fervently and she heard some rattling noises. She got to the door and knocked, immediately she did, the door made a creaking sound and started opening by itself. She smiled and walked in.
"Oyinda!" She yelled while her eyes ran through the whole house. The house looked deserted and eerie. She sighed.
She heard a noise coming down from the staircase. She felt relieved. It was a little girl on a white flowing gown walking down from the staircase. Ngozi flashed a smile at her.
"Hey, I think I remember you. Where is Oyinda?" she asked. The little girl ignored and kept walking towards the sofa.
"I am talking to you," Ngozi said and moved closer to her. She still remained mute. She wanted to touch her and she yelled, "leave me alone!!!!" Her voice echoed thrice in the sitting room sending Ngozi to the ground in fear as her skin wrinkled.
"What's wrong with you," Ngozi said and sprawled up while she used her hand to rub her body. Her body was filled with goosebumps.
"What's that? Who beat you!" A voice yelled while her stiletto hit each steps and made resounding noise repeatedly as she walked down. Ngozi felt relieved.

. She guessed it was the voice of Oyindamola's mum.
In less than a minute, what her eyes saw made her to freeze instantly. She saw a woman with deep gashes all over her face. Her hair was unkempt and she had a long canine teeth and a vulture-esque mouth. She yelled, "blood of Jesus."
The woman rushed to grab her and tear her apart but missed and hit her head on the wall, while Ngozi squirmed and drifted away. She grunted and spared Ngozi a wicked stare. Before the woman could elongate her hand and jam the door, Ngozi had escaped outside as she ran to her heel without looking back. The main gate wanted to jam close quickly, and she hit it with her leg and it opened reflexively. She ran outside. A car in a full speed, hit her immediately she wanted to run across the road. She laid lifelessly on the ground. All she heard were, "take her to the hospital."
"Are you mad?"
"What did you do to her?"
And noises she couldn't decipher..
That was all she heard until she couldn't hear them again.
