Synder-Ella - Episode 28

 

Katrina was seated beside the queen in the open courtyard watching the dance performance of the ladies in the competition.

It was some minutes past 7 in the evening but the area was well lit with electricity. The guards were present, as well as important royal personalities from the city, to grace the occasion.

“I am supposed to be among them,” Katrina whispered to the queen. She was now looking refreshed and was in a new cloth which was given to her by the queen.

“Yea, but now, you have a heavier task and the sooner you complete it, the better your chances get to marry my son.” The queen responded . “When exactly are you planning to leave and find my son?”

“I will leave tomorrow morning my queen, I assure you that our prince will be safely rescued.”

“And you know where he is?” The queen asked.

“Yes, I do your queen, you should have no fear.” Katrina lied.

“So you wouldn’t mind if I go have a chitchat with your friend who is also locked up with the other guy?”

“You don’t  have to, my queen, we don’t need her.”

The queen eyed her suspiciously, “and you want me to trust you, right?”

“Yes my queen, I will get the prince back, I promise. But are you sure that those two that were locked up cannot escape?”

“Escape? No, I doubt that.” The queen replied before focusing back on the lady that was dancing.

. There were two guards standing at alert.

“You know in a couple of mins, I will have to excuse myself and go watch Lady Trista who will dance soon.” One said to the other.

“No, you just went some minutes ago, it will be my turn next. I really wish the prince marries that lady you know, she is so good in everything.” The other replied, bringing out a phone from his pocket.
“What, you still have that phone with you?”

He shrugged, “it belongs to that Peter guy, the queen said to keep it with me and...”

“Help, help, someone help!”

The two men exchanged glances as they heard a female noise come from somewhere.

“Did you hear that?” One of them asked, paying attention.

“Think it’s coming from the cells, go check while I guard.”

The other rushed further into the passage, removing the bunch of keys from his pocket.

As he got closer, the noise increase, he then realized it was the lady that had been locked up that morning.

“What is it!” He shouted at her, seeing how she was panicking and restless.

“I think, I  think he is having a seizure, he is starting to convulse...” The lady shouted, pointing at a dark area of the cell, the guard could not see anything so he opened the barred-door while leaving the keys still attached to the padlocks, he rushed in.

“What happened?” He asked rushing in but before he could get a reply, he felt something heavy came crashing down on his head and he lost consciousness, collapsing on the floor.

“Oh my God! Is he dead?” Zichat gasped while Peter came out of his hiding, “no, not at all, I only knocked him out, he will be up in a second, quickly, grab the keys, we will need them, “ then he bent and tossed the body over, he dipped a hand into the pocket and brought out his phone.

“Now, do you have the key?” He asked.

“Yea,” Zichat said with a nod.

“Good. I and Henry have hidden places where we always take in sneaking in and out, come with me before the other guard starts coming.”

Katrina kept shifting uncontrollably in her seat, her mind was not at rest. She had been lying to the queen who had no idea that she actually knew nothing about the whole thing Her plan was that..crap..she didn’t even have any plan. One thing that was sure was that one way or the other, Zichat would lead her to wherever Synder was and once she finds Synder, she will definitely find the prince...but what if Synder was dead....?

“Are you okay?” The queen asked.

“Actually, no, my queen, I think I need to go see the girl that was locked up, there are some things I need to ask her that would make the search easier.”

The queen nodded, “okay, take two guards with you.”

As Katrina approached the cell with the two men with her, her heart kept racing, what was she going to tell Zichat and how would...Her thoughts were interrupted by a guard who was running towards them, panic written all over his face.

“What is it?” One of the men that were with her asked as he ran closer...

“They are gone! Tell the queen!”

Katrina stood frozen as the men left her and they all started running to get their weapons....

“Oh crap!”
