Detective Paul tapped the top of his desk patiently waiting for Kim to settle down on his chair. He had summoned him to come to the station.

“Good morning Mr. Karugu, i am sorry for the sudden summon but i had a few things i wanted to ask, but it’s not routine questioning.”

“Anything you need detective.”

“Great.” Detective Paul said. “Let’s get this started.”

Kim adjusted himself on the chair he sat on . He had nothing to hide now that his feeling towards Becka had been brought up to light.

“I want to know more about the pack.”

“The pack?” Kim raised his eyebrows questioningly

“The pack…Becka, Antonina, Stacy, Lucy, Ian and yourself.” The detective said.

Kim thought about it for a bit. He loved the sound of that, wished they could have used it while their friendship lasted.

“What specifically do you want to know?”

“This may sound like a strange question, but was anyone of you left-handed?”

“Yes, Stacy was left handed. We used to call him Barack Obama because she was a leader and left handed as President Barack of the U.S.A.”

“Was there any reason for Stacy to want to kill Antonina?”

Kim shook his head.

“No, to hate Becka maybe.”

“Why would she hate Becka?”

“For the longest time i noticed Stacy had a huge crush on Ian but couldn’t get him because of Becka. Also despite the four being a close knit, Tony and Becka had a special cocoon of just the two of them.”

“Oh, i see.”

“The detective wrote down something on his notebook again.

“What of your parents? Any of them left handed.”

“Yea, my mum but she is dead.”

“Oh, okay.”

. Karugu.” Paul said raising from his chair.

Kim shook his hand and left. As he crossed over to where he had packed his car he had someone calling him from behind. He turned and saw Ian running trying to catch up with him before he got into the car.
“Ian?”

He hadn’t seen him since Becka’s arrest though of late he heard that Ian had been hanging around with Stacy in town.

“Kim, you look frail.”

“It’s been a tough couple of weeks.” Kim said in a judgmental tone.

“Look man am sorry i haven’t been here for Becka or you my best friend, i just couldn’t be around you guys.”

“Becka was your girlfriend, i was your best friend. I needed you when the funeral process was on. You haven’t been to Juvy yet to see Becka.”

“I was there yesterday.”

“It doesn’t change the fact that you were not there before, why didn’t you bother?”

Ian swallowed hard shame clouded his face.

“Ian where were you?”

“I was with Michelle when it all happened.”

“You were with Michelle, oh my goodness Ian you were busy cheating?” Kim used his thumb and ring finger to touch both his eyes.

“You didn’t deserve Becka’s love.” Kim said.

“And you do?” Ian asked calmly.

“What is that supposed to mean Ian?”

“You love her so much but you were not able to tell that she was not guilty.”

Kim clenched his jaw.

“You look down at me because i am cheating on Becka with Michelle, you think you are so innocent? Two years ago you slept with a whore at a party and the next day you walked liked it never happened. You had been with Antonina for two years.”

“I was drunk and it was a huge mistake that never happened again.” Kim said defensively.

Ian kept quite in the verge of tears said.

“It was hard to watch you two falling in love day by day. I know i was a douche but i loved Becka but she only saw the perfect Kim and fell in love with you. For a whole year i have been watching you guys in silent. How you handled her with kind words. How she laughed easily with you. You brought out the smile in her that i never could. We both watched Antonina and me. We had decided to break it of when she was killed.

He was right. Michelle had come into view nine months ago. Antonina knew all this while!

“Antonina knew?”

Ian nodded.

Kim held his stomach. That had to be torturers for her.

“Am so sorry, it must have been hard.”

“Yeah, we watched as our best friend’s fell in love with one another while we were still in love with them.”

“I am sorry.” Kim repeated.

“No Kim, it’s not your fault you fell in love. I deserved what was coming to me.”

“Nobody deserves a broken heart Ian.”

“Did she still love me?” Kim asked

“Yeah, enough to let you go. She said your love for Becka was beyond us and so we couldn’t force ourselves on you guys.

“I need to go to Juvy, I need to talk to Becka about all of this.
