The honking from Shade's car awoke Bimpe who was slightly asleep while sitting on the pavement outside her house. She opened her eyes slightly, then used her hand to smack the housefly that perched on her body. Shade parked, alighted and walked slowly to the where Bimpe was sitting.

"What's going on? How did Dolapo die? What really happened."

"All I know is that my house is haunted - and
my husband is dead," she said each words one after the other. Tears streamed down from her eyes.

"Your house is haunted? Chief Yinka is dead?"

"Yes, but it is all good now . He paid for his sins. He killed his ex wife and child. I hope they won't still be hovering around," she dabbled.

"I don't even understand all you have been saying. Let's go inside. Maybe you will explain better. Open the gate please," Shade said and freed her gripped palm which she placed on Bimpe. She ran towards the car. Bimpe staggered slowly and walked into the compound from the small gate. She opened the big gate and Shade drove in. She parked and alighted with her bag hung on her shoulder.

"Let's go in," Shade said and held her while they walked into the apartment. They both sat on a sofa opposite each other.

"What's really the problem? Where is Chief Yinka?" Shade's eyes searched frantically.

"I said he is dead and my house is haunted! Can't you hear me?" She yelled and her eyes widened in tears.

"I'm sorry

. What are you still saying? Forgive my lack of comprehension. You mean Chief Yinka was murdered by an unknown figure that is haunting or haunted your house," Shade said and her eyes ran all through the sitting room.

"Yes, you heard right. You heard that Dolapo is dead too? And Usman?" Bimpe blurted tearily.

"What did you just say?" Shade asked shockingly. Immediately the neon bulb that hung on the roof fell on the floor and shattered everywhere. An unseen image hovered in between Bimpe and Sheila. Its shadow was seen on the wall and it was a woman.

"What just happened? Bimpe I'm sorry, I am leaving."

"Can I stay a night in your place?" Bimpe said and stood shakily.

"I am sorry. You can't. I don't want any unknown spirit in my house. Bye."

She opened the door and walked out. Bimpe looked through the window and watched her open the gate, then walked back to her car, entered and drove away. She didn't close the gate, but left it wide open. Bimpe shook her head and accepted her fate. She wasn't going to vacate the house for anybody.

"I am living the best life you have ever wished you lived. Sheila do your worst," she yelled again and her voice echoed. She tagged herself a psychopath anytime she yelled. She held the knob of the door, opened it and walked out to the compound. She closed the gate and walked back in to her house. She walked into the kitchen and prepared the food which she ate soberly.

. She served the food to herself in the dining table and tears rolled down from her eyes while she was eating it. She remembered how Dolapo would serve them their food while she ate with her husband.

While in thoughts, a message popped in with a notification and she picked up her phone.
"From, All Girls' College, our school vacates on Friday. You can come for your child or children either on Friday, Saturday or Sunday before the noon ducks, as we would be locking the hostel before those in authorities depart for the holiday. Yours, Admin, AGC." The message ended with. She smiled and dropped her phone on the table.

Ese was in her friend's house where they discussed on trivial issues.

"Ese dear, you know my daughters are both married and I am stuck here with my husband but he won't return today. It will be a boring night," she said and wavered at Ese.

"I've told you to get a house girl to keep you company. Well, you have to stay alone tonight. I'll be on my way sooner."

"Well, before you go, wait let me put on my night gown," she said and walked into the room after they had exchanged laughter.

She wore her night gown and stayed in the mirror to apply a cream she had been using to clear the bumps on her face. Through the mirror, she noticed someone walked past her door.

"Ese is that you?" She asked mildly. There was no answer. She ignored and continued what she has been doing.
