"What's the problem?" she asked.

"Nothing. It's just a scary dream."

"Really? In this house everything that's just a dream is real," she said while she laid emphasis on the word just. He spared her a sneer glance and looked away.

Bimpe threw herself to the bed while her eyes welled in tears as water trickled down slowly. Chief Yinka interrupted, "wait! How did everything go?" He asked.

"Everything happened in a twinkle of an eye . My survival was simply because of God."

"What are you saying? Go straight to the point. What happened?" He queried while emotions ran inside him.

"I don't know what happened. It all didn't look normal. Blood was all over the hospital and not long after, everywhere caught fire."

"How did you survive," he said, gasped for breath and came closer.

"It's also a mystery to me. All I know was that I jumped down from the storey building unscathed." Chief Yinka moved close, held Bimpe closely and hugged her so tightly and they observed silence for about a minute. She finally freed herself from his grip.

He looked into her eyes and blurted, "where is Bosun? I met the gate looking scantily"

"He left

. He is hallucinating though I think he wanted to quit his job. He said he saw a ghost - a mother and child."

"I guess he is really hallucinating," Bimpe said. She had seen the ghosts herself but she didn't want to admit. She was scared of admitting, so her husband won't be suspicious of her killing anybody. She gazed into her husband's eyes and bent her head down while he gripped her tightly.

Chief Yinka observed that someone was staring at him as he squinted. He was already having a blurred vision due to age catching up on him. The gaze became intense.

"Daddy!!!!" The little girl shouted.

"No!!!!" He screeched.

"What?" Bimpe turned immediately and the girl disappeared to look.

"What?" She queried.

"My days are numbered my dear wife. I have to give in to the ghosts?" He said while he trembled.

"Which ghosts? You are scaring me."

"I killed my first wife and only child just to have money. I hypnotised their spirits and I was told not to marry until sixty which I did. I'm seventy five now and they have regained their spirit body," he said soberly.

"And?" She replied and her eyes widened in a shock.

"Their spirit is finally free. My days are numbered. I'm walking into that sitting room to confront them. Stay here. You are safe. Take care of our daughters when I'm gone," he said and stood up wearily. He staggered to the sitting room.

"Arghhh!! My neck," Bimpe heard her husband cried in the sitting room while she was covered with a bedspread. She wept and soaked the bedspread in tears.

Immediately she opened her eyes, she felt a human body laying beside her, she flung the bedspread away and jumped up. She ran to the sitting room where her husband laid lifeless on the floor and wept. She put a call through the ambulance operator. They arrived some minutes after, and parked at the gate, then walked in.. They took the body to their van, and drove it to the mortuary.

. The world seems to be crashing at my foot. My house is haunted," Bimpe said sitting on the tiled floor at the front of her gate while passersby took more than a glance at her.

"All will be fine. What about you drive down here? And how about your bobo, Usman? I hope he is performing well in the bed?" She said and cackled.

"Usman? I don't even know what to say. I am like a destitute now. I can't come. If you love me, I need you in my house, please," she begged tearily while tears poured down from her eyes like a flowing river. She terminated the call and allowed the tears to flow freely while she cried endlessly. Mucus gushed down from her nose as she tried to conceal her teary face from passersby view.

"I think I need to be with Bimpe. From her tone, she needs me."

"Oh? Her name is Bimpe? I think I can now place the face," the third lady said.

"Na you sabi," Ese said. The laughed. Shade stood up, picked up her bag from the table and walked away.
