Set me free - Episode 41

 

William:

"Pizza's here!" Michelle calls from the door.
"It's about time. I'm starving!"
"So am I." Michelle walks into the kitchen with a big box of pizza.
"Oh.. That smells heavenly." She compliments as she drop the box on the kitchen table. I sit herself on the high stool behind me.
"I still can't get used to you being able to see." I chuckle.
"Well, you better do."
"You never seem to amaze me . All those years pretending blindness. Wow." I'm still trying to wrap my mind around her whole story. It's sad how her mother died but I'm grateful that she met Rory who helped her get surgery. This just makes me more determined to bring the bastard down.
"It was pretty easy pretending blind, you know? My dad is hardly here. Plus my bodyguards are pretty dumb." I whip my head back to face her and pretend hurt.
"You didn't just say that!" I exclaim and lunge for her, digging my fingers into her ribs.
"Stop!" She giggle uncontrollably. I move my fingers up to her armpits and her fits of laughter gets harder.
"Liam! I can't breathe!" She screams.
"William isn't dumb. Let me hear you say it."
"never!"
"Stubborn woman!" I dig harder.
"If I pee my panties Liam, I'm going to-- Hey! Isn't that the stew burning?!" My fingers stop their tortuous movements and my head whip to the gas cooker.
"Sh*t!" I let go of Michelle and hurry to the pot of stew.
"Is it burnt really bad?" Michelle asks from behind me and I release the breath I was holding.

. So spaghetti or rice?"
"Umm spaghetti! I love that."
"That shouldn't take long." I carefully place the pot of stew aside and put another pot on the gas cooker.
"I'll feast on this pizza while you prepare that." The rustling of the carton tells me she's already getting right to it.
"You know, that apron looks damn good on you. You're like a hot chef." Michelle say through the food in her mouth.
"You could be helping out somehow instead of sitting there, stuffing your face with junk food and making jest of my apron."
"I'm not making jest of it. I just said you're hot."
"Whatever. Be useful." I instruct.
"Okay. I'll just feed you while you cook then." I hear her drop down from the high stool.
"Open up." She instructs and I do so without reluctance. She pop a sizeable piece of pizza into my mouth.
"Good?"
"Shhhh. Just feed me."
"Bossy." She slap my shoulder lightly.
"You know, you didn't say much about how you came to be in this country." Michelle says after a few minutes of silence. I try not to let Michelle know how tense I've become.
"I just thought I'll find a better living here in your country so I could achieve my dreams of opening my own bakery." I say.
"You did say that. But that's not what I'm asking about. What happened to you after high school? Did you go to the university?"
"No, I never got to further my education. I was in prison for five years, Michelle! We don't get to go to school in there." I snap a bit harshly. There's an awkward silence and I beat myself up for overeacting.
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry." We  both say at the same time.
"I shouldn't pry into your life so much." Michelle continues. I lower the gas before turning to face her.
"No, I should be the one apologizing." I take her hand and place it against my jaw.
"The last five years of my life has been nothing short of a bad movie, princess." Michelle smiles a little at the nickname I know she hates but likes.
"I get it." She says and I shake my head.
"It's a load of sh*t I do not want to unload on your little shoulders."
"I have pretty strong shoulders." She counters smugly.
"That's not something a girl should brag about." I chuckle.
"Anyways, what I'm trying to say is we have a lot on our plate right now. We bring your father down. Then, we can talk about the both of us. This thing between us, we should just enjoy it okay?" Michelle nods.
"There's nothing that'll hurt me in what you're not ready to say now right?" She asks. Dawn and Aurora flashes through my mind.
"I'll tell you everything. I promise. Just not now. I want to savour this." I place a quick peck on her lips and hum in pure bliss.
"You are just kissing me to distract me." Michelle says.
"Is it working?" I don't finish my question before she's on me.

"What's the meaning of this?!" Rory growls when his eyes find the offensive pictures Jessica just dropped on his desk. He's been in this same office for hours. Ever since he left Michelle and William at the eatery. He has been trying to rack his brain on where he went wrong in his plan to get his girl. This wasn't supposed to happen. He never planned for another man in the picture.
"The pictures are self explanatory, Rory." Jessica says calmly as she relax on the settee in the room. Rory turn red rimmed eyes to her.
"What are you trying to achieve with this, Jess? You like seeing me this way or what? Why do you have to rub it in my face."
"I warned you that this was going to happen, didn't I? You gave her sight back to her but now she has it, she's with another man." Jessica snarls.
"I helped her gain her sight because I love her, okay? She doesn't owe me anything." Rory slump on his chair and bury his face in his palms.
"I'm so sorry Rory. We can go back to the way things used to be. Uncomplicated. Just the two of us." Jessica gets off the settee to massage Rory's shoulders. Rory's head snap up when her hands begin to trail down his chest.
"What are you doing?" He asks weakly.
"I want to make you feel better. Just relax."
"But--"
"Shhhh" Jessica whispers into his ear as she places a kiss there and trail more kisses down his neck. The alarms in Rory's head are blaring on how wrong this all feels but the alcohol in his system fuels his lust.
"Just let go, Rory." Jessica whispers again as she helps Rory take his shirt off.
"I've always wanted to do this with you." Jessica moans as her lips ghost over Rory's. Rory's eyes close in bliss as he inadvertently picture Mara doing this to him.
"Mara--" He groans when jessica's hand brush over his arousal. Jessica freeze at this. She couldn't believe that even in his state of highness he still wanted Mara.
"Mara?!"
"What?" Rory who hasn't realised his slip or who perhaps has no idea of what he has been doing asks, clearly confused.
"You ungrateful bastard!" Jessica slap both her hands against his chest in hysterics.
"I've followed you for more than decade on your stupid search for revenge! I've loved you for most of those years!" Jessica cries. This seems to sober Rory a little as he stares down at the girl he's thought a sister almost all his life.
"You don't have anything to say?!" Jessica snaps.

. Rory tries to get words out but quite frankly, his mind was drawing a blank right now.
"I hate you, Rory! You hear that? I hate you!" Jessica pounds more on his chest.
"Jessica!" Rory catch both of her hands in his.
"I'm sorry." Rory says quietly. Her unfocused eyes snap to his.
"no, don't be sorry. Just love me, okay. I'll take anything." She starts feathering kisses all over Rory's face like a deranged woman.
"Jessica! Wait!"
"No, just make love to me. Just this once." She starts to unhook his belt.
"Stop this!" Rory yells as he pushes her away from him. Jessica loose her balance and falls to the floor.
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Rory tries to help her up but she flinch.
"Don't f*cking touch me!" she snap. Her breath coming in and out in harsh pants.
"Jessica please--"
"No! Get out!" She snaps as she crawls away to the corner of the room.
"I- Jess please don't."
"I said get out!" Rory sees there's no way he can get reason into her head right now.
"I'll leave but this isn't over. You can't throw away all those years of friendship." Rory says before staggering off.
"This is over, Rory! And you will regret this! Mark my words." Jessica yells after Rory.
"Arrrrghhhh" She screams into the empty room when everything goes silent. She staggers to her feet and grab the offensive pictures on Rory's desk.
"Bitch" she growls at a smiling Mara in the picture.
"You're going to pay for stealing my man." She pull open various drawers before she finds a lighter which she uses to burn out Mara's face from the picture.
