Three weeks later after the incidence, Bosun and I had a date at our usual spot.
"Lara, thanks very much for being there for me," Bosun said
"You're welcome" I responded
"We thank God that everything is settled now" he added
"Yeah, I'm just sad that my friend is no more," I said sadly
"Hmm, it's not palatable, but there's nothing we can do" he said soberly
"Yeah..." I added.
"Anyways, Lara, hmm hmm hmm," he cleared his throat
"What?" I asked
"I want to ask a favour from you and I hope I'll get a positive answer" he said and held my hand
"OK, what is it?" I was eager to hear it
"Will you marry me?"
"Hmm?" I was surprised to hear that
"Yes I'm serious"
"But..."
"No but, just say yes, I've been developing feelings for you since day one, I was just trying to control myself because I didn't know how you will feel," he explained
"Alright" I said
"What's your response?" He asked in agitation
"Yes" I said smiling
"Wow, when are we going to meet your parent?" He asked
"Hmm," I started crying
"What is the problem?" He moved closer
"They are late, they involved in a car accident when they were going for a ministration, sind then, I've been alone, all my relatives deserted me" I explained everything that happened to him.
"I'm sorry for that, I promised I won't fail you, I'll be to you everything your family did not do" he said. We talked about so many things till almost dawn.
