My boyfriend and I - Episode 7
"How are you feeling now" I asked Dupe who was lying on the hospital bed. She did not reply me, she was just looking at me, then Doctor entered.
"She will be discharged this evening, her condition is not a complicated issue, it's just a minor thing." He explained to me but I was still confused what might have ensued that would make Dupe acted like that immediately she saw Bosun.
"Dupe, what happened exactly? Do you know Bosun anywhere?" No answer from her, I was angry inside so I had to leave before I did something funny.
"Anyways, I'll come for you in the evening, the doctor said you'll be discharged this evening." I left the hospital heading to home with the hope that Bosun would explain the matter to me. When I got home, Bosun was already packing his clothes, I was stunned.
"Bosun, what's going on?" I asked confusingly
"Nothing but I have to leave," he said sharply without even looking at me
. I moved closer to where he was.
"Leave? Why? What exactly is going on?" I did not know how tears started flowing down my cheek. Still he did not respond, I tapped him at his chest.
"Bosun, why did you turn to?" I asked over and over again before he responded.
"I just have to leave," he stopped packing clothes and faced me this time around.
"Can you tell me the reason?" I asked looking straight to his eyes
"Lara, I know this is not how I'm supposed to repay your kind deeds but I can't help myself, I just have to leave..."
"That's not what I'm asking you, I need to know the reason," I shouted because I was already boiling inside
"Calm down, it's a long story," he said
"I know something is fishy, because the two of you have been acting strangely since the time you met, OK, let me ask you this, do you know Dupe anywhere before? I asked
" N-n-no, no," he stammered while talking
"What is no? We both took her to the hospital, you left few minutes after telling me you need to take your medicine, not knowing you're here packing your things, I returned from the hospital, you never ask how Dupe is faring," I was fed up that I did not know how to persuade him to open up to me.
"I'm sorry for that, how is she now?" He asked
"The doctor said she will be discharged this evening, that's why I came home to do few things before the time," I explained
"Good," he said and continued with his clothes
"Bosun, can you stop and tell me what the problem is? I'm seek and tired of this?"
"Have you asked her? I mean your friend"
"Yeah, but she just kept mute." We sat for almost an hour looking at ourselves without saying any word. I later broke the silence so I said, "anyways, if you refused to speak up, let me quickly prepare food, we're going to the hospital together" I said, touched his cheek and left the room to the kitchen.
When I finished cooking, I showered and went into Bosun's room so we can go to the hospital together

. We headed to the hospital, on our arrival, we went straight to the ward my friend was but we found an empty bed. I ran to the doctor's office, "Doctor, where's Dupe?" I asked
"Dupe? Is she not in the ward?" He asked, he was confused too, he ran outside and I followed him, we searched everywhere but we couldn't find even Dupe's shadow.
"Madam, we'll look into this, it is even a stab at our back that a patient is no where to be found, just give us 24hours," he said assuredly.
"OK doctor," I said, Bosun was silent all through like many things were running through his mind, when I touched him to tell him we should go home, he was shocked. I did as if I never notice but I knew I would get to the root of the matter... To be continued
