The next day when I checked my phone, I realized it was Dupe who called me. I called her back, we talked and she promised to visit me soon but I did not know the exact day. I prepared for work feeling great because I was now second in command boss. My life has become better now. Back to Bosun and I, our relationship has reached another level. We were now seeing each other everyday
. In the morning, he would call, afternoon and before I went to bed. All I was expecting him to say next was to propose to me, and I've been trying my best to mak e sure he did just that. One day, he called me and asked me to come to his house. I did not hesitate, I dressed up and went there. As I entered the sitting room, I met Bosun on the floor in a pull of blood, "ah, Bosun, what happened to you, who did this to you, how did you find yourself in this?" I was just asking different questions forgotten that the person I was directing the questions to could not even say hi. I rushed outside to get a cab and we rushed him to hospital.
Bosun laid lifeless on the hospital bed, I did not know when tears began to fall, and the Doctor came in, "Miss or mrs?" he asked me. "I'm Miss Lara," I replied. He nodded and attended to Bosun for few minutes, and he said, "can I see you in my office?" I followed him to his office, he offered me a seat.
"You can have your seat madam" he stretched his arm towards the chair
"Thank you sir" I said as I was sitted.
"Who are you to him?"
"I'm his fiancé," I lied
"Good, it means you will know one or two of his relatives" as he said that my head rang because I did not know what to say.
"Actually, we've already planned to visit his sister next weekend before this crisis occurred, so I don't know any if his family,"
"It is complicated, the reason why I asked of his relatives is because of his condition,"
"You can explain to me sir, I'm also is relative" I moved closer.
"Calm down madam..."
"Doctor pls, what happened to him exactly, what's happening to him, what is his condition?"
"I don't know which one you want me to answer" he smiled
"This is not a laughing matter," I said frankly
"Anyways, let me go straight to the point..."
"OK," I adjusted my seat.
"Your fiance survived from a severe stab from someone, and the wound is very deep that it almost gets to where his heart is,"
"Ah, mo gbe(I'm done for)," I put my hand on my head
"So, we just managed to give him little treatment for sustenance,"
"OK, so what do we do now?" I asked impatiently
"That's the reason I asked of his relatives, because some surgical operations need to be carried out on him and we need someone to sign some documents, and also money issue." He looked serious
"Can I sign the documents?"
"No problem, but what about the bills?"
"How much are we talking about?" I asked faintlessly
"#350,000"
"What!.." I couldn't help myself,
"...where will I find that kind of huge amount?" I added
"That's why I asked you to provide his relatives, there's nothing we can do about it," he said frankly
"Alright, can I pay like 200k so that you can start the proper treatment?"
"No problem, when you leave this office,ask the nurse at the reception to lead you to the cashier's office." He said.
I went to Bosun's ward to check on him before going home to gather the money

. When I got home, I first sat down because one part of me was telling me that what I was about to do was wrong, I was asking myself different questions like what if Bosun did not later ask me out? What if Bosun already has a fiancée somewhere? What will be my gain after everything? Another reminded me that I was about to release my hard life savings just like that to someone I did not know whether he feels what I was feeling, another told me to sleep and never go to the hospital again.
