**** HAILEY'S POV

Silence.

More silence.

Thick silence fills the entire room as everyone holds their breath, waiting for the next reaction.

I stare Mr Michaels who's expression was nothing to write home about.

His expression was a mask of shock, anger.

The shock of his son's audacity to stand up to him over riding his anger.

Mr Michaels stares at his hand which was being gripped firmly by Jason midair.

"Don't. You . F*cking. Dare"

Jason sneers and Mr Michaels just stands there openmouthed, unable to utter a word.

"I have had enough of your bullsh*t dad. You will not disrespect me or my woman or my child ever again. Let me make this clear to you, it's finally obvious to me that you hate my guts. You hate the mere fact that I'm your son and so I'll make this easier for you. I will get the f*ck out of your house and move somewhere else so you can finally have your peace of mind"

he drops his father's hand and turns to me and grabs my hand.

"Let's go"

"But Jason. You're bleeding and.."

"Do not defy my orders. We're leaving!!"

He snaps and I flinch.

An angry Jason is a really Scary sight to behold.

I can practically see the veins popping out on his forehead.

He's pissed.

So pissed.

Out of fear, I press Olivia tightly to myself with my other hand and nod feebly.

He drags me along with him until we're outside the ward and walking down the hall.

"Jason! Why are you out of your room? You're not discharged yet

. You're bleeding. Jason!"

Doctor Frank runs behind us but stops abruptly when Jason turns and glares hard at him.

He gulps.

"I'll get you a nurse"

he says.

Jason can be quite intimidating when he wants to.

Minutes later, we're at the roadside and Jason is flagging down a cab.

"Get in!"

He commands and I obey.

He sits beside us in the backseat and shuts the door as the driver zooms off.

I see him groan as he holds his head.

He's in pain.

I can see it.

I want to reach out to him but I'm scared.

I'm scared he'll snap at me but nevertheless I reach out anyway.

I grab the hem of my nylon skirt and rip a part of it.

Carefully I reach out and take Jason's hand in mine.

He stiffens instantly. He still doesn't look at me.

He just keeps his head straight ahead, giving the driver instructions to the mansion.

I tie the ripped clothed around his bleeding hand and I feel him relax under my touch.

I kept staring at Jason so much that I didn't realise when the cab stopped.

"Stay here. I'll go get mine and Olivia's things"

he tells me and before I could say a word, he's out the car and walking inside the mansion.

Several minutes later, he comes back out dragging three huge suitcases.

He puts them into the front seat and slides back beside me.

"Drive to East side estates"

he tells the driver and fishes out for his phone, dials a number and places it to his ear.

"Hello?.. Yes It's me Jason Michaels.. Is the house ready? Good, get the papers ready and meet me at the house in an hour. I'll be moving in today... Thanks"

he hangs up.

Moving in? East side Estate?

"J..Jason you..you don't..."

I swallow the rest of my words when he turns to glare at me.

I shrink back into my seat and cuddle Olivia who's getting sleepy already.

My poor baby.

She's witnessed too much for her age.

I set my head on the headrest and shut my eyes.

I jolt awake when I feel tapping on my shoulder.

I sit upright and turn to find Jason staring at me.

"We've arrived. Get down"

he says and without another word, he alights and grabs the suitcases.

I alight too and carry Olivia who's fallen asleep already.

I follow Jason and gasp at the sight..

In front of me is a beautiful and cute and cosy looking house painted in white and blue.

I look around and realise there are so many similar houses all in a row.

We're in an estate.

I step in behind Jason who leaves me behind to talk to a woman already waiting at the front door.

As he speaks to her, I glance around the compound.. it's quite spacious and cemented.

There are beautiful plants lining the edges of the compound and two flowerpots at both sides of the huge gate.

I was still admiring the house when Jason's voice interrupts

"Come inside"

he says as the lady walks away after hanging him the keys.

I follow him and marvel at the fully furnished house.

"Jason"

I turn to him.

"It's a three bedroom house and we'll both be comfortable here. Get some rest, I'll go find some groceries"

and he was out the door, totally ignoring me.

Leaving me alone.

I sigh.

I walk into one of the bedrooms and lay down with Olivia falling asleep immediately.

I didn't even check out the rooms.

It felt like several hours later when I woke up to a delicious smell tickling my senses.

I hear giggling immediately and I look around to find Olivia seated on the floor, naked and messing with baby powder everywhere.

How and when did she get naked?

"Have this"

a voice says beside me and I turn to find Jason holding out a plate of sliced pizzas and orange juice to me.

"It's not much but I couldn't prepare anything. I already gave Livy something to eat already"

he says as I take the food from him. Silence falls between us.

"I'm sorry Hailey.

. I didn't mean to act so cold towards you. It's just I got so angry when my dad disrespected you and anytime I get mad I tend to lose every sense of reasoning and.."

I don't let him finish and I wrap my arms around him.

He stiffens for a moment but then he relaxes and hugs me back.

"You defended me. That's all that matters. For now,you need to rest. You're weak and you look pale"

I pull away and study his features.

"Frank called and he's already dispatched a nurse. She's on her way here. I already gave him the directions"

he answers and shuts his eyes, breathing in heavily.

"What about Alex and Tess?"

I ask

"I called them when you were asleep"

"You should lie down while we wait for the nurse"

I say and he nods.

I help him onto the bed and make him lie down.

He shuts his eyes instantly.

I c*ress his face for a while until his breath steadies.

I made to get up when he grabs me.

"Stay"

he whispers and I sit back down.

"I'm not going anywhere"

I lie down next to him as I wait for the nurse.

Looking all sweaty and haggard from running for God knows how long, Madeleine stops In front of her Father's mansion, gasping for air, trying to normalise her rapid heartbeat after running for so long.

After a few seconds, she walks past the gate into the mansion unaware of the men littered around the compound disguised as security men.

She walks right past them into the house and upstairs into her room.

She quickly grabs a suitcase,throws in a few clothes and then drags it behind her. No one was currently at home. Good.

She had to leave. Soon. Now.

That b*tch Hailey had outsmarted her but not for long.

She was going to go on her father's private jet and fly to a different country, different continent and lay low for a while but then she will be back.

Back for Hailey for pulling a fast one on her.

And this time, she'll make sure to crush that b*tch and leave no stone unturned.

And then finally she'll make Jason Attah Michaels hers and hers alone for good.

But for now, she had to leave.

She steps out through the main door unto the compound calling out for their driver.

A man dressed in white long sleeves and black trousers approaches her.

She doesn't look at him.

She doesn't notice the rest of the security men surrounding her.

"Going somewhere milady?"

A voice snickers and Madeleine lifts her head to stare at the man.

Her eyes grow wide instantly.

She gasps and drops her suitcase taking a step back when a strong hand grabs her arms from behind, nails digging into her delicate flesh.

She cries out.

"Did you think you can ever escape without having at least your fingers or toes chopped off?"

Madeleine whimpers In fright.

They had found her Only a miracle can save her now.
