Mr Michaels pushes his plate of food that was barely eaten aside and gets up, walking past his wife.

Fuming, she pushes her own chair back and rushes after him up the stairs.

Lillian barges into the master bedroom to find her husband seated on the bed with his back propped up against the headboard, reading.

She walks over to where he sat and snatches the book from his hand and throws it onto the floor.

Shocked, Gregory lifts his head to stare at her.

"What the f*ck was that for Lillian? Have you no manners?!"

"Do not cuss at me Gregory Attah Michaels! I'm your wife!"

She screams back at him.

"Then maybe you should act like a wife not some bitter lover!"

He hisses

"Gregory!! How can you talk to me like that"

she stares at him, her eyes pooling with unshed tears.

"You snatched the book I was reading. And that's disrespectful!"

"We were talking at the dinning table before you walked out on me . That's disrespectful too"

"Because I didn't want to talk about that disrespectful boy?"

"He's not just a boy Gregory, he's your son. Your son! Why are you always like that with Jason?"

Gregory stares at his wife like she just asked the most ridiculous question on earth.

"You're asking me why I'm always like that with him? Maybe because he's a spoilt child

"Why do you describe him as such Greg? Because he has no interest in your company. Don't forget he studied science in High school just to make you happy. He offered pharmacy in the university, just because you said so. He forfeited his dreams just for you Greg but you're still blind. Why can't you be happy for our son for once and accept that he's a grown man now. A twenty six year old man who should be allowed to make his own decisions? Jason loves painting. Have you seen any of his works, they're beautiful. Let him do what makes him happy Greg. Is that too much to ask for?"

Greg springs up from his bed and faces his wife.

"Amongst all the professions on earth, Jason chooses to be an artist? A painter? That's degrading!"

He spits Mrs Michaels shakes her head pitifully.. It was useless trying to make him see sense.

Where was the loving man she got married to? Maybe the fame and wealth got into his head making him change.

"Degrading you say? I feel so sad that you can't be happy for our son for once.I just pray that by the time you realise your mistake it won't be too late to even say an 'I'm sorry or 'I love you' to our son"

As soon as Mrs Michaels ends her sentence, her cell phone rings.

With her eyes still trained on the husband, she answers it.

"Hello?"

Mr Michaels watched as his wife's expression suddenly changed from anger to shock as the phone slips and falls from the hands hitting the floor.

"M..my son... J..Jason.. G..gunshot"

she stutters searching frantically for her purse.

"Gunshot? Jason? What happened. Talk to me. How's my son Lilian?"

He asks Lilian grabs her purse and turns to face her husband with a stony expression.

"It's been such a long time you actually asked how he is so why now? You suddenly care about your son? Pathetic!"

She spat and rushed out

THERESA'S POV.

I scream.

The shot is fired. Once, twice.. I scream again falling to the ground.

I lay on the ground, ready for the aftermath of the pain of getting shot but I feel nothing.. Absolutely nothing.

I just got in the way and took the bullet so why am I not feeling any pain?.

I glance down at my shirt.

There's blood.

So much blood.. But I feel nothing.

I panic.

Am I dead already? Am I going to heaven or hell? Am I.... My train of thoughts are interrupted by a painful groan.. I snap my head immediately and there was Alexander leaning against the wall groaning in pain as he held his right arm.

Oh God.

Alex got shot instead.

But why is there blood on my shirt.

"I'm fine Tess. T..take care of her"

Alex drawls out, throwing the leather jacket he wore at me and I turn again.

I gasp.

Hailey was laying behind my brother on the floor, a gaping bullet wound on the side of her stomach,blood flowing.

The bloodstain on my shirt was Hailey's.

"Oh my God! Hailey!!"

I rush to her side,covering her nakedness with Alex's jacket.

"Hailey come on. Open your eyes. Please Hailey!"

Tears sting my eyes as I shake her vigorously.

I reach into my pocket, pull out a handkerchief and press it to her wound applying pressure to stop the blood flow but my efforts are useless.

Hailey let's out a groan as I do this but her eyes remain closed.

Her fair skin is suddenly pale and she's shivering from cold.

"Hailey don't do this. Come on open your eyes. You can't die"

I sob gathering her frail body into my arms, applying pressure to her wound.

She groans.

"Hailey?"

I turn at the sound of my brother's voice to find him staring at Hailey with a faraway look in his eyes.. The realisation of her taking a bullet for him hitting him hard.

I hear gunshots downstairs and I instantly know Hank's men are fighting the police. Then I hear laughter. Dark laughter.

It was Hank.

He was laughing like a psychopath.. My brother tears his gaze away from Hailey and stares up at Hank.

I watch as his fist clench tightly, the faraway look in his eyes morphing into anger and then his eyes become dark. I flinch at the look in his eyes.

It's dark,scary.

Slowly I watch as he lifts himself off the ground.

"Take care of her Alex"

he says with a stone cold voice.

Olivia rushes into Alex's arms and he carries her with one arm.

He picks up the gun of one of Hank's men who lay dead and proceed to head out.

I don't know how he ended up dead.

"Hey you!"

Two of Hank's men who were with us in the room move to stop but Alex turns swiftly and shoots them both simultaneously like he had been shooting all his life and then heads out.

Jason walks towards Hank In slow steady stripes.

"Don't move,else I'll shoot"

Hank warns pointing the gun at him but my brother just keeps advancing towards him.

"I said don't move else I'll shoot!"

He warns again. My brother keeps moving.

"I said don't move!!"

Hank takes a step back, fear flashing in his eyes.

My brother was close now.

"I said.."

The rest of his words were caught in his throat as my brother lunges forward and kicks the gun out of his hand.

Hank yelps and moves back looking pitiful without his gun.

"Don't come near else.."

"Else what?" Jason asks, his voice hard and cold.. What happened next, I didn't see any of it coming.. One second my brother was staring at Hank with cold eyes and the next, Hank was laying on the ground from just one blow Jason delivered.

"Jason please"

I sob out,tears blinding my eyes as I keep applying pressure to a wound that won't stop bleeding.

I flinch when I hear a crack sound.

I gasp.. Jason was straddling Hank now and delivering blows with both hands on each side of his face.

"Jason stop please. You'll kill him!!!"

I scream but he didn't stop. Jason continues to hit Hank specifically in the face until I saw blood on his knuckles but I knew the blood wasn't his.. I stare at the man's face and cringe.. His face is all bloodied.

If my brother continues he's going to disfigure his face or worse kill him..

. Hank was no longer struggling.

With the amount of anger exuding from my brother, Hank was no match at all.

"You f*cking old man!"

Jason delivers another blow to his face and I hear another crack sound.

Oh my God.. Jason will kill him.

"Jason stop it please! He'll die! Jason!!!"

He still ignores me.. I turn to Hailey.

"Can you hear me Hailey? Stay with me please. Please"

I beg.

I hear a click sound and I lift my head.

I gasp in shock.. Jason was holding a gun.

Pointing it at Hank.

"Jason no! Stop"

Alex runs back into the dungeon, a few police men behind him.

Olivia wasn't with him.

His arm was still bleeding.

"The police are here. They'll take care of it. Don't Jason!"

Alex lunges forward in an attempt to grab the gun but Jason was fast.

His anger was beyond measure and he wasn't reasoning.

Jason's temper was something I had always been afraid off.

Jason pushes Alex so harshly he falls on his wounded arm and groans loudly.

"Alex!"

I shriek..

"I'm gonna f*cking kill him. He shot my woman! I'm gonna make sure he remembers me for the rest of his f*ucking life!"

Jason sneers dangerously and right before my eyes,he shoots Hank in the shoulders making him scream in pain.

But no, Jason wasn't done.

Jason moves to his right leg and shoots it.

Blood gushes out.

Another ear piercing scream.

Jason is going to kill him.

He moves to Hank's left leg too and then shoots again.

Hank screams, as both his legs bleed badly... Jason moves to his right leg which he had already shot and fires at it again. Oh my God.

"Jason!"
