Rory:

I stare the mother f*cking as*hole sitting smugly on my favorite chair in this cabin and my teeth hurt from how hard I'm grinding it.
"Get the girl. I don't have much time." He says after perusing the living space with an upturned nose.
"She isn't going anywhere Gabriel!" I snap. His brows shoot up at my use of his direct name, his eyes brimming with rage . I don't care. I can take him with my eyes closed.
"We had a deal!" He fires, slamming some papers unto the small table separating us. I recognise the papers I signed months ago. Of course that's why he's here. The email I'd sent to him just this morning about reviewing our contract. Not because his daughter is currently in a wheelchair. I can't believe I made a deal with such a man.
"Your daughter is hurt." I try to say calmly. Doesn't he care?
"I have enough money to take care of her. Just get her out here now." He commands.
"I'm sorry I can't do that. The doctor says she's not to be moved long distance." My face shows I'm not bulging.
"I'm her father!" He roars and I scoff.
"Then act like it!"
"You don't teach me how to be with my daughter."
"You should treat her better then." He has the audacity to laugh at this.
"Self righteous pr*ck!" He spits. I'm losing the reins to my temper.
"You think you are different from me? Do you treat her better? Didn't you leave her alone for four good months?" I feel bitter at his jab at my biggest guilt.
"She deserves better." I find myself saying as I bury my face in my palms in shame.
"That's why I'm calling this contract off

. I'm not reviewing anything. You are paying the severance fee of a million dollar for breaking the contract and I'm finding her a better match. Someone who can do a better job of getting me my heir." I fly out of my chair at this just to breathe down his head.
"She isn't a property to be sold to the highest bidder!" I roar. He pulls his still solid body off the chair and face me down, his nose flaring like mine.
"Don't act like you even care. You endured the girl for a few months so as a sign of Goodwill, I'll let you people keep the shares. I don't need it anyways but I'm taking her with me now. You broke the contract. I take this to court and you lose both your money and the girl along with anyone's trust in you and your company once they find out you married Amaya for shares." I shake my head severely.
"No, you won't." I sneer. He has the guts to pull his phone out of his pocket.
"Dare me." He grinds out. I grab the phone from him and smash it against the wooden floor.
"Now you're being childish." He smiles at the broken phone at my feet.
"I'm not letting you take her." I reassert.
"It's that what she wants though?" He asks and I'm taken aback. He sees he's hit the sore spot and he continues.
"My daughter doesn't want you anymore."
"That's a lie." He's right and I know it but I can't let it sink. I need her now.
"Let me have her, boy. "
"She's mine."
"No, she is mine. You can call her out here and let her decide that for herself if you want. She always does what daddy wants anyways. She always have and will." He looks so smug.
"Go ahead. Call her out. Let's make it her choice." He goads. I won't be able to take her saying it with her mouth that she'd rather go with her father so I shake my head against the idea.
"I'm calling the cops that you kidnapped my daughter if you don't get her out right now." He insists. I'm about to resist again when a woman's voice interrupts.
"Let her go, Rory." I turn around to find a familiar woman I can't really place frown at me.
"Who are you to ask that of me?" I ask her.
"The only person who really cares about Amaya in this room." She says. I look back to Mr Gabriel who shrugs.
"Amaya's friend. Listen to her and bring me my daughter." He tells me. I look back to the woman.
"Let her choose. She is old enough to know what she wants." She nods mildly and I relent.
"Fine." I grumble but ask them to wait for me while I get Amaya.
I spend long minutes, finding the courage to knock on the door. Knowing that this may likely be me opening the door for her to leave my life. I just want to kick her father out of my cabin but the woman out there is right. I chose a path for Amaya when I married her and she got hurt. It's time to let her choose what she wants. Hopefully she'll choose to give us another chance. I should be a better choice than a father like Mr Gabriel. Taking deep breaths, I knock lightly on the door.
"Yeah?!" Michelle answers. Here goes everything.
"Amaya? Your father is here to see you." I force out. There's silence for a few seconds before the door is pulled open. I come face to face with Michelle. She shake her head subtly at me when I frown at the room devoid of Amaya. She points to the bathroom door and it opens at the next moment.

. Amaya leaps out.
"Amaya? You shouldn't be walking." I hurry to her side to help her. She doesn't struggle which I find weird.
"Are you okay?" I ask her as I lead her out of the room with Michelle behind us.
"I'm not." She replies sincerely. I stop us just by the door leading into the living room.
"Michelle can you give us a second?" I subtly plead with my eyes and she nods.
"I'll be outside." She says and leaves.
"Look at me." I pull Amaya's face up and brush her hair out of her face.
"You don't have to see him if you don't want to." I'd rather you don't see him. I don't add the last part.
"I have to speak to him anyways." She shrugs nonchalantly but I see her shoulders slump.
"Just take my hand out there and I'll take you out of there." I lift her chin up to get her to look me square in the eyes. I want her to see my sincerity. She doesn't look reassured. I take her hand and rub it across the stubble on my cheek. Raw emotions slam into me at the imminent pain. My chest contrist painfully. Is this goodbye?
"I think I love you." My voice croaks at the last three words as our eyes clash. Amaya's hand fall away from my face as she stare at me stunned silent.
