Rory:

"S-s--say something." I stutter, nervously. She continue to stare at me for a few seconds before she leaps away from me into the living space. Has she made her choice. I take a splint second to try and calm my racing heart and erratic heart beat. I massage my chest in slow circles.
"Is it too late?" I say to the ceiling before I put on my man pants and walk into the living space too.
Father daughter and friend are currently doing a staring contest and when I enter, the stare is broken.
"Dad." Amaya breaks the silence. She doesn't take the few steps to get to her father . She stands just in the middle with me almost exactly the same amount of steps behind her as her father is in front of her. I recognise the implication of this moment. Her friend glance from me to her father and shake her head slowly. Michelle lean against the wooden wall and watch Amaya.
"That's enough now. Let's get you home." Mr Gabriel says and I watch Amaya nod slowly. No. She puts one foot in front of the other, taking herself closer to her father and farther away from me.
"Don't do this. Please." My voice is barely above a whisper but Amaya turns around and subtly shakes her head.
"No." I shake mine. I want to run to her to brush off the stray tear from her left eye.
"Too late." She mouths as she turn back around and continue her way to Mr Gabriel

. Her father grin smugly at me when she take his hand.
"No. No. No." I mumble. Mr Gabriel's grin turns into an outright laugh when he winks at me.
"I never lose, Rory. Told you she's daddy's little girl." He pats Amaya's hair like she's a doll and I want to punch his face in. I'm just about to do just that when Amaya's hand slip out of his hold. She stagger back slightly.
"What are you doing, girl? I don't have time for this. Let's go home."
"No." Amaya's voice is small but sure. Everybody's eyes in the room snap to her as she bow her head to her father. In fright I think. I want to go to her but I decide to let her do what she wants today.
"Excuse me?! I said let's go home girl! Don't make me say it again." Her father roars. Amaya's head snap up and she lets out a mirthless laugh. Her eyes going completely dark.
"Home?! Where's home!" She snaps.
"Here? With you? With him?!" She points to me and shake her head.
"I just realise that I don't really have a home." She says completely breaking my heart.
"Amaya--" I start to move to her but she put her hand out, stopping me in my tracks.
"No. I don't need your pity Rory. You know what? I forgive you." She says to me then turn to her father.
"And I forgive you too." Mr Gabriel snot at that like he finds this funny.
"It's not any of your fault. I just realise this. I mean how could any one of you love me when I haven't loved myself first?" Her voice breaks on the last word.
"Amaya--
"No. Let me talk for once." She stops her friend who tries to get a word in. She focus on her father now.
"I love you Daddy. I really do and for years I've done all I can to make you love me. But now, it's not going to be like that. I'm your daughter. I have flaws yes. I'm not the son you wanted, I know but I'm amazing too." She sob but still wouldn't let anyone near her.
"I'm a catch, you know. I could have made a great wife." She says to me. A tear creep down my neck and I realize I'm crying too. When did I become such a sissy.
"Amaya-- I know. Let--"
"It's time I live this life and love it. For me and no one else. Please no one should follow me." She says to her friend before she leaps out of the room.
"Amaya!" I run after her but get blocked at the door by her friend's body.
"Get out of my way!" I growl.
"She doesn't want to be followed." She says like I'm stupid. I'm really not in the mood for this.
"Get out."
"Rory, let her go." Michelle hold my shoulder and I barely stop myself from shoving Maya's friend out of my way.
"She's leaving without me." I sob out to Michelle who engulf me in her arms.
"She'll be back." She assures me.
"I don't think so."
"It's up to you to bring her back then. But you have to let her go for now. Stopping her now might not end well. Let her cool down. Let her think." Michelle says. I nod. Maybe she's right. I lift myself off Michelle's shoulder.
"Please go after her. Don't let her hurt herself." I say to her friend who gives me a curt nod before running out after her friend. All my bones ache to go after Amaya. To comfort her. To tell her that I don't just think I love her but that I know I love her.
"She'll come around." Michelle pat my shoulder and I shudder.
"What a drama queen. Totally embarrassing her father like that." I almost forgot about Mr Gabriel until his annoying muttering filter into my ear though the roaring in it. I flash angry eyes at him as he broods. He must feel my hot gaze on him because he looks up and shrugs. He's totally nonplussed to his daughter's pain.
"Get out." I grind out to him.
"What?!" He looks both stun and offended.
"I said get out!" I yell and almost lunge at him but Michelle keep her body between us.
"Damn you all! Ungrateful children! I raised that bitch!" He loses his cool and cuss.

. My hackles just about rise beyond limit. I fight Michelle's hold.
"Just let me punch his face." I beg Michelle.
"No. Don't come down to his level." She pleads.
"Level? I made your husband who he is, you bitch!" Mr Gabriel seethes and before I can deliver my blow, Michelle gets to him before me and punches his smirk off his face. He groan in pain as he clutches in bleeding nose. I feel so proud as I watch him.
"Get the hell out of here. And don't you show your face to anyone of us ever again. Especially your daughter until you know how to love a true treasure." Michelle grind out at the old man who's still groaning.
"You will regret this. I'll bring your husband down, you hear me?!" He roars but doesn't wait for Michelle to smack him again. He storms out while I wonder what kind of a man he was. He definitely reminds me of Michelle's no good father.
"He won't do nothing. As far as I'm concerned." I take Michelle in a hug and wonder if Amaya has someone to hug her tonight.
