The God And His Bride - Episode 37

 

I groan as my head hits the pillows, the tears follow soon.

Maybe it's because I'm a little drunk, maybe its  because the sunshine and the sea air got to me but I feel my walls break.

I didn't flirt with any guy, I did not even approach anyone, I just had a good time by myself, drank wine and danced by the sea.

The terror that I might have missed my chance at a happy ending hits me when I saw a woman and a kissing.

I knew i was done for the day, so I grabbed my wine and my flip flops and found my way back to my cottage.

I have no idea how to reach him, but as the tears come I promise myself that I won't wait for him again, life is too damn short.

I fall asleep with that conviction in my heart.

I groan the next morning when sunlight hits my face, God, I hate alcohol.

I turn away from the sun, digging deeper into the pillow, trying to go back to sleep.

I can't.

I open one eye blearily and there's a man sitting on the chair facing my bed.

He's got one leg crossed over the other, outfitted in a sweater and ripped jeans, his hair wet as if he's been swimming, or no, flyiny, like dew got his hair wet.

"Are you real?" my voice asks, cracking.

He does not reply, just watches me.

I sit up, sweep my hair over one shoulder as I hold my head, an headache splitting through.

"I must still be dreaming... Hallucinating

. " I mutter to myself,

I watch him and he watches me and I don't know why but the tears come again.

I sob into my hands, hating the fact that I'm feeling pity for myself.

He moves then, moving around the bed and coming to me, sweeping me into his arms and I let him, sobbing softly.

"You left me.. Again" I say. Pathetically.

"Sona....."

"I'm not your Sona anything" Kill me for sounding like a child right now.

"Were you so angry at me that you did not even answer any of my prayers?"

"I was gone, I had to settle some things with the council, time does not flow the same way as it does on earth, I was gone barely a week over there" He says.

"But,.. You didn't give me a sign, why did Mila.."

"No one was aware Sona, I had somethings to deal with, I apologize for the pain" He says and I nod into his chest. My tears stopping, my hands going around his waist.

Like I mentioned earlier, pathetic.

"Don't let me go" I say into his chest.

"Are you accepting me as yours Star?" I nod, into his chest.

"You must say the words Sona"

"I accept you as mine Alixi" I say, raising my head. His dark eyes watches me, reading me and I hold nothing back, laying myself bare for him.

"You are mine" He says with a low rumble.

"Yes, I'm sure that's what accepting you as mine entails honey" I say.

"I like it when you call me this"

"Honey?" He nods.

"OK, honey, I like that you like it"

I say again and his eyes darken, something responds in me, deep down.

He lifts my chin up with his hands and he's there, kissing me.

His mouth melding with mine.

"Say it" He growls in my ear. "Say I'm yours"

"You are mine" I whisper, a little nervous of the light in his eyes.

I needn't have bothered, my god knows exactly what to do to put me at ease.

He lays me back on the bed, a snap of his fingers and my sundress dissolves.

Well, he doesn't waste time.

"Well you don't waste time" I say and he pauses, his mouth on my stomach.

He looks up, his eyes burning, his lips turning up in a grin.

"Time.. Sona... Is something I have in abundance, I believe in savouring every little one that I have with you" oh my goodness, that's so sweet.

His face disappears from view and he proceeds to tell show me exactly how he believes in savoring me.

A Year Later

"Do I really have to be here?" I ask, watching Liang slow dance with Mila, I almost blush at how close he is to her and the heat in his eyes, he might as well be doing the dirty with her right there.

"Settle Sona" Alixi says, his hands on my Thigh.

"Don't tell me to settle, you are not the one carrying two baby gods in you" I say, and he turns to me, giving that look that got me pregnant in the first place.

We've been married for 8 months now and I've been pregnant for 6 of those, I decided to have a human wedding and he decided to humour me because he loves me and I pretty much get everything I want.

This evening we are attending the wedding of Liang and Mila.

Trust me, I love my friend, I really really love her but I'm a pregnant woman with a hot husband and I hate the looks he's getting from other guests.

I'm in a white chiton, with a v neck and a  slit on the sides, his hands are on my bare knees, stroking me, soothing me, making me comfortable, reminding me that he's mine.

It's weird how attuned he is to me, what's also weird is sharing a best friend with my husband.

I rest my head on his shoulder and his hands comes around me to rest on my stomach.

My eyes go to Jeter who's In a conversation with Bonnie, I see good things between them but I can also see Mila giving them a look from her husband's arms and I know she does not approve.

Oh well, she will have to get over it, Bonnie is a  high priestess, a demi god, she channel's energy for a living so you might say theirs will be a match made in heaven.

I snort.

Liang glares at Jeter, noticing that his wife is unhappy.

I laugh, chuckling into Alixi's shoulder.

Jeter does not notice, just picks an imaginary whatever from Bonnie's cheek.

Bonnie is gobbling up the attention.

I laugh again and I feel my baby kick under Alixi's hands.

I feel his lips at my ear as he speaks.

"You are not my reward Star, you are my redemption" He says and my heart skip a bit at how sweet he is, my mind going to what Mila said what seems like a thousand years ago.

"Love you Lix"

"Love you Star"

He says and I settle back into his arms.
