The Emerald Chase - Episode 6

 

 Her feet suddenly went numb.. She wanted to run but her feet just wouldn't move..... She could see him throwing his eyes around as if searching for someone and then stops when his eyes meets hers.... He looked taken aback for a few seconds but then he quickly composes himself and smiles at her.... She could feel her heart racing faster as he began to walk towards them. . "Lord help me" she mutters.. He was getting closer... "Breathe, Emerald, breath" she takes in a deep breath and composes herself... "So i heard we got a new student" Frederick says stretching out his hand. "That will be me.. And I hear you are the owner?" She answers with a smile, takes his outsretched hand and shakes him... She loved the shock written all over his face when she acted all cool around him.. He was probably expecting her to break down and cry or perhaps flee... Hell no, she smiles to herself... It was better to keep your enemies close than keeping them at arms length.. "I'm Emerald and i hope I'm welcome". "Uh yeah sure.." He fakes a smile and watches her walk past him to occupy an empty mat at the far end.... She turns and winks at him, loving the look he had on his face.... He had no idea what was coming.

Frederick walks into the gym and bangs the door angrily behind him. He was angry, furious and enraged. How dare she act so cool? He scratches his head and leans against the wall... This wasn't what he was expecting. He was expecting her to freak out upon seeing him and cry and then run out but no... She was all smiles.. In fact she was talking sweetly to him... This had never happened before.. All the females who had been his victims were under his beck and call... None of them could stand up against him after he had molested them because they knew of his family's influence on the society and a single word from him could ruin their lives forever... One way or the other, he had managed to scare the hell out of those ladies who had been unfortunate to have had an encounter with him and he had been expecting the same from Emerald... He was tired of going to bed with the same old faces and Emerald seemed like a good catch that's why he had specifically asked for her last night but she seemed unbothered and it definitely wasn't a good sign.... Sighing, he brings out his phone from his pocket and rummages through his contacts contemplating on who to call. "Perfect" he mutters and dials a number and places it to his ear... "Hello. Becky? Meet me at the hotel..don't keep me waiting because I'm in a foul mood...." He says and hungs up without waiting for her answer.... Shoving the phone into his pocket, he walks out...

TWO HOURS LATER

"Elvis umm I have a headache can I go get some medicine?" She asks feigning sickness "Are you sure its just headache.. Won't you rather go to the hospital?" He replies exiting the building "Yes" "OK.. I will be waiting here" She nods and walks away quickly searching for a nearby pharmacy... Finding one, she walks in and purchases what she needs..... Walking down the road back to the martial arts center, she stares at the contraceptive pills in her hands and sighs.... She just hoped it was not too late. She wasn't ready to have a child much less the child of a rapist... Talking of Fred, for how long was she going to keep seeing his face and pretend everything was alright. "God help me" she mutters looking up at the skies when suddenly she felt strong arms grab her waist and spun her around in a quick motion.... She shrieks and raises her hand to slap who ever it was.

He touches his left cheek as the pain from the slap still lingered... He looked down at her and was about to explain himself when she lifts her hand and slaps him again. "How dare you? How dare you lay a finger on me?" She growls He looks at her for a moment and then begins to walk away ignoring her... "I'm talking to you mr whatever-your-name-is!" She says almost shouting and then takes a step forward to stop him when he spun around almost immediately and wraps his arms around her waist.. "What the hell is.." She trails off and tries to slap him again. "Before you slap me again, look down" his deep voice says. She lowers her eyes and that's when she realises the big pothole in the center of the walkway..... "I called you several times but you seemed so lost in thoughts that you didn't hear.. You were about to fall into the pit so I just had to do something.. And for doing a good deed, I got two slaps in return.. That's a rare thank you gift" he says sarcastically taking his hands off her.

. "I...i..I'm sorry" she stutters and he turns to walk away.. She grabs his left arm to stop him.. He turns, anger evident on his face. She stares into his eyes... They were beautiful, dark and sultry... "I'm really sorry sir... I acted out of impulse" "Next time when you are walking, be careful" he answers and turns away leaving her staring at his handsome self walking away.
