In Anita's Home(continuation)
Ose got a seemingly distress call from an unknown caller in worried tone. He hurriedly washed himself off his greasy smeared skin and handed over the unfinished task to a colleague. The streets was filled with traffic, the sun was intense. He hoped things was going to be alright. He tried reaching the caller but was unreachable. Fear etched so deeply onto his face that it collapsed his cheeks.
Anita's was still in the same mood Nene left her, Nene walked slowly down the stairs, she now felt guilty . She regretted not screaming, her relationship with Anita had been quite smooth and tender, she wasn't willing to let it be destroyed. Tracy just stared at Nene with a seemingly ulterior motives which she couldn't tell; like a mixture of hatred perhaps disappointment.
A man with an elongated moustache smiled, the embroidery his native attire was neatly stitched, he handed over his suitcase, Anita hugged afterwards Kayode bowed, he responded with a weak tone and patted his back, he was tired, he had had a stressful day.
"Daddy meet my new friend Nene" said Anita, She went closer, he smelled of brandy, his belly was protruded . She went on her knees to greet. "You are welcome" said Anita's Dad

Nene avoided eye contact with Tracy, she wanted to explain but she feared her reaction , Nene pretended being engrossed with something on her phone. It was getting to evening time. Tracy wasn't speaking anymore, she sat quietly.
Anita marched downstairs, her gait was swift, her face was lugubrious, she signalled kayode to come outside. She knew something was up.
The squeak of an opening door was the sight of an elderly woman, Nene knew it was Anita's mum, she recognize her on the huge family frame.
After a short prayer everyone echoed "Amen" Kayode voice was the loudest. Nene was uninterested in food, she was too busy thinking about what to tell Anita's or the perception Anita now had about her.
The table was well arranged, the wine, fruit juices of various sorts occupied the dinning table, she focused on the patterned table cloth, a steward dropped a basket filled with fruits, Nene opted for a metal spoon, she wasn't used to the "fork and knife" thing.
"Which part of Lagos do you stay?" Asked Nene dad.

. "Agege area" that nice. Everyone concentrated on her she wasn't comfortable being on the spot, she swallowed the chunk of rice down her throat.
Kayode excused himself to take a call. After rushing his food he took permission before leaving, Nene suspected something more to his hasty exit .
"What do you parents do?" Asked Anita's mum. Nene looked at her right in the eyes. Nene sipped her drink before answering they are business people. "What sector" asked Anita's Mum is a petty trader while my Dad is a cab driver.
The room was quiet, Anita's mum gave a disapproving expression, she smirked, the skin on her face was tightened, Nene could tell what she was thinking . The food no longer tasted sweet. It was nauseating.
Anita's Dad seemed loud, nasty, and lousy. He cracked some not so funny jokes everyone laughed, Nene often times laugh at them so as not to appear to gentle perhaps to create an impression an extrovert and not to appear rude in case no one laughs at this comments.
After the late lunch they moved to the balcony for their usual ritual .The couple outfits were more casual. Nene exempted herself right from the dinning as regards taking any form of Alcohol.
My parents are asking after you demanded Anita. Nene wondered why as she approached the balcony.
