KATHIA

"Urm...what was that?" I asked after a long silence.

He said nothing but kept pacing and I got more and more uncomfortable.

I recalled the way he had grabbed me and kissed me in front of everyone. There was something about being kissed by him, but it was another thing to be kissed by him publicly, it was like he was sending a warning to others to stay clear! It made me feel so special and so safe and did he just declare me as his! I had fought it before I eventually gave in as he deepened the kiss and then a moan had escaped him before the whole crowd shouted . "Get a room love birds!"

Then quietly we had come here and getting here had been a little awkward as he said nothing and I said nothing too.

Please Miguel! Do not spoil this for me!

"Miguel! I deserve some explanation! What are you doing here and why did you kiss me like that in front of everyone?"

He stopped pacing and he looked as if he was trying to remember something or trying to figure out something.

Then I noticed a man outside through the transparent tent. he was wearing a turban and even though he seemed to be busy drinking, he kept looking at our tent.

"WHo is that man?" I asked but he made no response.

"Would you just stop pacing and answer me!" I demanded "Why do you feel you can kiss me any time you so desire and then you would make it seem as if I begged you to kiss me! Why are you here Miguel?"

He gritted his teeth and then turned to me, grabbing both my shoulders firmly and looking into my eyes, I could catch the smell of alcohol in his breath as he spoke.

"Kat, I do not know what you are doing to me, I can't tell you what I am doing here in this camp, with you, I can tell you I came here because I am hungry and there is so much food here...but I cannot explain the reason why I had to kiss you in front of every one of them

He stopped as we both stared at each other...the look he gave me was making my legs weak we were both breathing fast and he loosened his grip on me...then he looked away...

"Still, i don't know the reason why I am telling you all this..I must really be drunk...but that ring I gave you, you can keep it or not..its your choice..." He turned but I held his hand.

"You gave the ring to me Miguel publicly for a reason I do not know and now you are saying its my choice secretly?"

"Look Kat. I am sorry okay? I am sorry i forced the ring on you like that! I'm sorry I embarrassed you in front of everyone.. but .." He growled low as he continued. "let’s not forget that you kissed me back"

The whole emotion that was piling in me melted immediately as his pride set in with his last statement.

I raised my eye brow. "I kissed you back so you would not have to look stupid in front of everyone!"

"Really...do you know what you did with your tongue..a t that last moment? You are making it a big deal when I kiss you as if you didn't enjoy it?"

"I didn't ask you to kiss me Miguel!"

"Then why do you always have to be so damned beautiful and sexy all the time!" He shouted.

Gosh! This man!

"Look Miguel! I can be beautiful and sexy any time I please besides let's not forget the way you kissed was passing a message to whoever you may be sending it to?"

" I do not know what you are talking about?" He replied, turning his back on me.

"Oh! I quite recalled you were standing beside that fine man in a turban..does he have anything to do with this?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about lady!"

"Really Miguel, you are such a lousy lier and a lousy pretender too! I can look beautiful and sexy for whomever I please! Do not forget that I never expected you to come"

"Really, you never expected me?"

"No I never expected you!" I snapped back,

"Well, I am here now, sue me!"

"You are pathetic Miguel...anytime you kiss me, you always bring up a fight..what is your problem! if I can get you so worked up like this over a simple kiss, I wonder what you would do if you see me completely naked!!"

That came out accidentally!

We both stared at each other at my sudden outburst..silently. Then he smiled and took the apple on the table. He took a bite and walked closer to me.

"You dunno what you are asking for young lady! You are walking on a dangerous part " He took another bite and continued in a sexy growl.".you should be careful.

My throat tightened as he used the word"lover." Did he know about Anthony?

He frowned as he saw the look of horror in my face. " Why do you look surprised. You think I don't know about the flowers and late night outing! Of course I know! You think I am the only one that cheats! " He laughed. "How stupid do you think I am? This is the reason why I have no idea why you would pull a stunt against all my mistresses because I later found out you did. Oh yes! I found out! All these was your idea Kat! You remember the mean things you told me on the night of our so called-wedding? You said I was free to have my whores and you would have who you please too, all that matters is not to get in each other’s way. You made the rule..you broke it! I don't know what you are driving at or what you want from me? You have been taking charge of everything but when I decide it’s my turn I never expected I would find myself falling...." He stopped as he realized what he was about to say. He looked at me. "I hate you !" Then he took another bite and turned..walking out of the camp..

"Falling...falling for who? For me? " Could that be what he wanted to say. I shut my eyes. I have no idea what happened on the wedding night, I had a feeling if I could fix it, everything would work out just fine! But ...my God! He knows about Anthony....how would I fix that!
