My only addiction - Episode 12

 

Arya's POV
My eyes were stuck on the window but I was lost in thoughts....I couldn't get the scene from earlier from my head....

I felt a slash on my heart  when he pushed me off him and ran to the bathroom...I can bet on my life it wasn't his sister on the phone..He looked tensed and scared when I walked into his room..It was like he was doing something wrong.

I didn't like what I was feeling, I have just known him for three days...What if he is dating????

Apart of me tried to convince me it wasn't my business while the other part prayed so hard not to be true...My sadness was an ocean of unknowable depths...

I leaned my head on the passenger's seat and closed my eyes  when my phone pinged with a message...
I sat upright quickly to check and it was from Jackie...

Jackie: Short woman you better come back soon, the landlord will lock us out soon..He doesn't seem like he is joking this time round....

I didn't reply...I just switched off my phone and went back to my former position....Why can't things go right in my life for once???

"Are you okay, you seem stressed???" The voice I didn't want to hear asked and I nodded wordlessly....
"You have been quiet, is everything okay???"
I nodded wordlessly....

If I even uttered a single word, I would have broken down....My eyes were on fire and I just wanted to cry so bad...

"We are here,let's do some shopping..."Amy said excitedly....
I opened my eyes, unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car...
"Are you okay???" He walked to my side and I just looked down..
"Answer me???" He lifted my chin up....I realised he had a cap and glasses on...Who was he??? Why does  he always disguise himself in public???

"Stop being too perfect or you will make me fall for you..." I brushed shoulders with him and begun walking towards the boutique...

"Arya, wait???" He called out behind me...
"Listen to me???" He held my arm...
"Let's just shop and go where we are supposed to go...I don't want to talk right now...." I said in a spiteful whisper...
"Did I do anything wrong???"
I twisted my hand off his grip and got inside the boutique...

" Hey madam, welcome to Raisa boutique...How can I help you???" The attendant asked...
"Can I get a pair of jeans and tees???"
"Sure madam..."

What are you doing Arya???just go home...
"Never mind, I don't want to buy anymore..." I walked out of the boutique and bumped into Amy...

Ethan's POV
My life is a disaster....On one side Arya looks mad and the other side is Ivy who isn't picking my calls...

I was walking into the boutique to help Arya out when I bumped into her...She looked more mad than before...What did they feed her in there???

"Arya, that was fast..." I chuckled..
"Take me back...I want to take my things and go home...." She ordered...
"But???"
"But nothing..." She cut me off....

We both got into the car and drove back home silently...When we entered the apartment, she went straight into her room...

I didn't want to lose my new friend...Everything about her had begun to get to me...
"Arya, we need to talk???" I slammed the door open...She remained silent...
"Can you hear me???" I took her hand and pulled her to me...
"You won't move from here until you talk to me..." I wrapped my arms around her...

"I know that was not your sister earlier...I thought we were friends and friends don't lie to each other..."

I was blank...I didn't know what to say...

"Don't try to lie to me, the fear was written all over your face...The way you pushed me from you, the way you dropped your phone when you saw me said it all...At first I pretended not to have noted anything because it doesn't concern me but I don't know why I am mad..." She cussed out...

Ethan how will you get yourself out of this one..

"You were right Arya, it wasn't my sister..It was my ex-girlfriend... I just panicked when I saw you and that's all...She has been wanting to get back with me but I don't want to...She cheated on me with my bestfriend...." I faked a sob and tried to shed tears but all in vain...My eyes were as dry as Sahara desert...

She smiled and shook her head,"Is that the best lie you would come with???"

Is she a mind reader??? How did she know????

"I am not lying!!!" I tried acting normal and mad....
"Until you are ready to respect our friendship, we should stay away from each other...Now let me go..." She said with a straight face and I had no choice but to oblige...

"But can you please not go??? You can stay in this room and I will not bother you...Don't leave, you promised we will play FIFA over the weekend..You can't break a promise...."
"Let me be alone for a while..."

She sat on the bed and pulled her legs to her chest and squeezed them tight....

I walked back to my room and sat on the edge of the bed...I tried calling Ivy but she didn't pick up...I sent her a million and one texts but she just read them and didn't reply...

Am I a bad person??? Am I this desperate??? I should just let Arya go home before I go crazy thinking about her...I don't want to feel this stupid unfamiliar feeling I am having whenever she is close to me...

I am afraid to feel lonely and sad again...She gives me this kind of happiness that I cannot explain...She always knows how to make me smile..I don't want to lose her friendship or Ivy...I am in a dilemma

I was scratching my head angrily when my phone begun ringing....It was a new number...

"Hello, who is this???"
"Does Ivy know you are flirting around with other women when she is not around???"

I froze with wide eyes...Sweet heavens what kind of bad luck is this???? I thought I was discreet...

"Who are you and what are you talking about???" I yelled...
"I am a entertainment blogger and this is indeed a juicy gossip...Ethan Marcias having an affair behind his girlfriend's back..."
"What do you want??? How much???"
"Fifty thousand Marcias...."
"Send me your account details...If anything leaks out you are a dead man..."
"I will be waiting Marcias..." He hung up...

This would be the best time to hang out with Arya...I really need her crazy self beside me....
I will just apologise and I know she will understand..

Immediately I turned the door knob and opened the door, I found her hand hanging on mid air...I didn't expect her so soon, I thought I would have to beg,sing and dance to have her forgive me like Ivy forces me to do..

"Want to play???" I noticed an Xbox 360 controller on her hand...
"Are you not mad anymore????"
"It's not my business...And somethings are better left unsaid...Shall we play???"
"Yes, sure..."

I couldn't hide the smile on my face...I felt a feeling of relief wash over me...I didn't have any idea of how to convince her about earlier...Ivy should probably take some lessons from Arya....

"Thank you..." I hugged her

Arya's POV
You know what, I don't what to know the truth anymore...Screw it, it is his life....I am not supposed to be mad, it's not like we have something going on between us...

I shouldn't care about what he does with his life...I am just imagining my own things because I am brokenhearted...Perfect him will never choose ordinary simple me...I should stick to my lane.  Arya don't bite what you can't swallow...It's better I don't know the truth, what you don't know won't break you...

I wiped my tears away, went into his solitude room took one of the controllers and went to get him...His friendship is all that matters...
