Few hours later, the whole family could be seen walking up and down, waiting for the doctor who has been in the operating room for sometime now, to let them in on the recent developments. After what seemed like a century, the doctor finally came out with a frown. On seeing the doctor , we all rushed down to him with one very familiar question "Doctor, how is she?" "I'm sorry but we lost her. We tried our best but she was brought in late" I couldn't absorb the shock, I didn't know what was happening to me at that moment . My head started spinning, many thoughts ran through my head but one I couldn't come in terms with was that my bride died on our wedding day.

"Jessica!!!" I screamed and that's all I could remember. hours later, I woke up. The thought of everything that had happened flashed back and I bursted in tears. I couldn't stop blaming myself for everything. If only I had pick up when she called. For months, nobody could comfort nor console me and for years, I mourned my bride who died on our wedding day....the present Thinking about the past really hurts but now more than ever, I'm willing to let go for good. . Stay well my love, till we meet again" I muttered to myself before heading to the bathroom.

"After what seemed like ages, you finally came down. If that's your plan to dodge my question, then it has failed" my mom said in a jocular tone. I smiled cause I know mom is the persistent type and there's no way to dodge her. " go and eat. Your food is ready and my ears are still itching seriously" she added while I responded with a nod and went straight to the dinning table. "I know you want me to talk and that's why you are staring at me like that" "Hey! Oh my God!! Who am I seeing" Nessa exclaimed... "Mom don't tell me you used some kind of spell on him" "I wish I did my dear. It's just as you've seen it o. Even I myself is still surprised" "Come on cherry, ain't you happy to see your big brother after a long time?" "Jesus Christ!! What the hell am I missing here. It's been five years you last called me that. What happened?" "My dear, he also called me same too and am yet to get an explanation as to what prompt the sudden change" I just kept smiling all the way cause I know how surprised they were.. you can't blame them. "Big bro...." she tired gesturing me to say something. "Hey! Sis what's the bag for" "I actually plan spending the weekend here" "LoL.... you can't be serious" "I'm really happy my babies are home and especially you Williams" "Let me drop my bag upstairs and freshen up. Williams, you have a long story to tell" "Let's wait for her, you know how she can be" This is really one thing I so much love about my family. The love we share, the interaction. Sometimes you don't know who the oldest is.

Minutes later... "It's really nothing, like nothing happened" I said to mom and Nessa who sat down paying full attention to me. From the look on their faces, I could tell they didn't buy what I just told them. "Why? What is that? Oh! You don't believe me right?" "I refuse to believe that bro.." "Yea son... Me too" "Wait! Are you both ganging up on me?" "Yes" they both said in unison.the look on Nessa's face.... was something else and mom... not to speak of it.. awesome.. after a while of staring at each other without saying anything, I gave up. "Alright! Alright! There's this girl..." "Woooooooow...... unbelievable!" Nessa exclaimed interrupting me. "Seriously! Are you kidding me!" Mom said... Trust me, the surprise ehnn... e no just get mate. I've never taken a second glance at any girl for years now so the shock was really expected. "That's it! I'm done talking" I said pretending not to be interested any longer. " "Who is this girl?" Nessa asked, ignoring what I just said "Yes son, who is she. I want to meet her" mom added.. I looked at the curious women sitting in front of me and continued. "Her name is Gift but usually addressed as queen" "Wait, is she that beautiful?" Nessa interrupted "Oh shut up Nessa" mom said and nodded for me to continue. "She was my patient. She was involved in an accident months back. I was in charge of her case and I really did my best to see her on her feet again. She's a journalist and yes! She's very beautiful. But, don't get your hopes up cause that's all" "What do you mean by that?" Mom asked. "That's all mom. We are just friends. I care about her a lot cause she used to be my patient. I always feel this peace within whenever she's around. Seeing the way she strives hard, makes me want to let go of the past and move on. I sometimes think about her a lot, like, I can't go a day without thinking of her. Though she's got pain, but she doesn't allow it interfer or determine how her life or day will look like. I get this indescribable feeling when she stares at me. It makes me want to live, it makes me want to be alive. I just feel we are same. Trust me mom, that's all" The both of them stared at each other smiling.. with that look that spells 'Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking?' I couldn't help but feel suspicious.. "Mom, Nessa. What's that?" "Haven't you realized it yet?" Mom asked. "I don't understand. What do you mean" "You are in love again bro... you have fallen for her" Nessa said smiling.. "You are both joking." "No son, we are not and that's the truth. Can you see how much you are glowing? Can you see how much you look alive? Not to mention, the way you talk of her. The joy, you can't run away from This." "Bro.. life has given you another chance. Please don't let it slip away" "Who are her parents?" Mom asked "I know you will ask... actually, her mom is a doctor. Doctor Doris Williams of Aggrey Health Care..." "Wait! Bro.... you are not serious" "is it the Doctor Doris I know?" "Yes mom" " whose husband is ..... Jesus Christ! You must be kidding me" "That's the truth guys..." "But bro... on a serious note, you have to come to terms with your heart and go for her. Trust me, you will regret it if someone takes your place in her life" "You know that's part of the problem" "How's that a problem son?" "On the night of the accident, a guy brought her though I really didn't see him but from what I heard, he seems to be her fiance" "And....?" Nessa added "After the treatment, I got to find out from her test results that she suffered a serious brain damage and as a result, she now has a selective amnesia where only part of her memory was wiped.

She doesn't seem to remember him anymore and the worse is that it's almost going to be impossible for her to regain her memory except of course if God does a miracle" "Then that's it bro.... from what I understand, it's almost impossible for her to regain her lost memory and even if she used to have a fiance, I guess this is fate trying to rewrite the past for you. You have to go for your heart. It's never wrong" I exhaled not knowing what to say. I don't know if she's right but she sounds very convincing. "I think she's right son.. can it be possible to invite her over? "I guess so...." To tell the truth, I'm confused.. are they right? Is this fate? Hmm.... We later talked about different things, but that thought never left my mind..
