“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I am sorry, I was going to tell you but things just happened so fast.” Reeva explained, Skybae was just calling her and was asking about the whole breakup.

“Why did he call you anyway?” Reeva asked.

“He wanted to know where you were.” Skybae replied.

“Did you tell him?”

“How would I tell him when I never knew what was happening.”

“So did he tell you everything?”

“He said it was your decisions.”

“Yes.”

“That was cold Reeva, really cold, you should have at least waited for a while”

“There  was no need for that , I did what I thought was best. We were both two different people and we both had different commitments to two different people.”

“Still, I don’t think that is enough for you both to break up, you have spent years together, everything was fine, why couldn’t you or anyone of you just accept to let go of the pride?”

“It was a commitment Skybae, you know how much I have wanted this.”

“Yes but....” Skybae sighed, “where are you?”

“Are you going to tell him once I tell you?”

“Of course not . I just want to be sure that you are in good hands.”

“Don’t worry, my mum is with me, I am at her place.”

“Okay well, that is good

. Did you tell Pristin?”

“Only KEMI knows about it.”

“Did he call KEMI?”

“Yes KEMI told me he called her but I told her not to reveal anything.”

“Well, no problem, I am just so sorry for everything, I wished you told me before you took that insane decision.”

“Yea, I know but the die is cast.”

“Don’t you miss him at all? You are acting like it.”

Reeva sighed, “I miss him every minute, every second, I love that man Skybae but I  am strong because I know that things will come back to how they were and that we will be together again.”

“Really? What made you so sure?”

“Because Ruthie is here.”

 “Andy’s Ruthie?”

“Yes, she came to explain some things to me and I realize that, I can’t entirely blame Andy, or his father. They have been through a lot and I even pity them actually.”

“So, why don’t you call him and tell him that?”

“No way, that is not the way this works. He will have to d a little work before he finds out.”

Skybae smiled, “Anyway, I am glad that you think that things will get better, I feel so awful already and if you tell Skybae, she might just break down, she has been looking forward to being your chief bride’s maid.”

“I know. Hope you are okay?”

“Yes, I am fine.I gotta go, Love you.”

The call ended and Reeva stood up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen. Ruthie and Tracy were busy cooking together.

“Wow, something smells good in here.” Reeva remarked.

“Yes dear, Ruthie is cooking us something Spanish.” Tracy replied.

“Wow! I’m salivating already...”

The door bell rang.

“Are you expecting someone?” Tracy asked but her mother shook her head.

“Okay, I will get it.” Reeva replied and was walking towards the front door. She opened the door and froze. Standing right in front of her Andy. Even though her heart was beating excitedly and she almost wanted to jump for joy, she needed to calm down.

“Andy? What are you doing here?”

He looked so stressed out and his eyes were bloodshot as if he hadn’t slept in days, his hair was rough and he was untidy completely. He said nothing but went on his knees and brought out the ring which she had returned.

“I love you, you are my life, my world, my everything. I know I had made you feel like you mean nothing and I am so sorry for that. My father was trying to protect me but I realized that I have to be my own man. I want to be your man Reeva. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. If you take me back I promise that no one will come in between us again, not  my father, not my pride, not my ego. I want to live and die for you, I want you to marry me as soon as possible. We can get married by tomorrow and have children by the spring, please, will you take me back?”

Reeva’s eyes were filled with tears as she listened to everything. She nodded excitedly and held her hand out while he slid in the ring before embracing her.

“I am so sorry baby.” Andy said as they hugged.

“I am so sorry too. I am so sorry for being so stubborn and so angry. I understand everything  your father did and it wasn’t your fault or his fault.” Reeva sobbed before they finally kissed.

Tracy watched from inside, smiling to herself. “Why don’t you two love birds come in then?”

The couple laughed and walked in together. Then Andy sat while Reeva sat on his laps.

“Did Skybae tell you I was here?” She asked.

“No, it was John.”

“Your friend?”

“Yes. He only guessed actually.”

“Well, he’s good.”

For a while, they were only looking at each other and smiling.

“I love you Reeva. So much and everything that happened seemed to have broken every wall of defense that I have ever built around me. all these years it was like I wasn’t opening up enough and now, it’s like being free. I don’t care about anything again, I just want you to trust me and to love me as I trust you and I love you.”

Reeva smiled, “I love that.”

“So, how is Ruthie?” Tracy asked on purpose as she came to join them.

“Oh, I don’t know Tracy but I hope to know soon.”

“You don’t know?” Tracy asked, “you haven’t spoken?”

“She left our house.” Andy replied.

“Wow!” Reeva gasped, “what happened?”

“I was told that she got into a fight with my father or so, so she left. I know that she and my father had a thing for each other, I just never understood why my father had been so hell bent into not letting her in. They love each other, everyone could see that but I guess insecurity stuff as a result of my mother really affected him so much and this was why he kept on directing my life as well.”

“Wow! I am so sorry about that.” Tracy replied.

“Yea me too. Ruthie left and everything just opened up. I mean I saw myself, he saw himself and we saw how much we have been hurting people that love us. I am so happy that I got Reeva back, I just don’t know if he will get Ruthie back.”

“Why did you say that?” Tracy asked

“Well, no one knows where she is, even though she has told me if I do the right thing, I might find her...but I don’t know, whatever it is I feel sorry for my dad. He will die a lonely and a miserable man.”

“So won’t you miss Ruthie?” Reeva asked.

“Definitely, she is like a mother to me. She is everything to me, my mum, my sister, my teacher, my counselor, I love her so much and it breaks my heart that she left me without me getting to say goodbye.”

“Well, maybe it wasn’t a goodbye to begin with.” Ruthie said right behind him and Andy jumped , almost dropping Reeva who was on his laps. He turned around and saw Ruthie smiling at him....

“Am I dreaming?” He asked Reeva, but she was only laughing as well.

“Come son, I have missed you.” Ruthie said and he ran towards her opened arms.

“I am so sorry Ruthie....”

“I am proud of you.

Finally they pulled away. “So you listened to the audio?” Ruthie asked, sitting down.
“Yes Ruthie, every word. I thought you left me.” Andy said, sitting beside her.

“No darling, I would never leave you.” Ruthie replied, kissing him on the cheek. “So, your father told you I left?”

“No, I went home to talk to you and found all your things gone.”

Ruthie chuckled, “they are not gone actually, they are just kept in another room.”

Andy gasped, “really?”

“Yes, Adams made me do that actually, he said things would work out and that I should give him some time and that was what I did.”

“Wow! You should have seen me when I realized you were gone. I was terrified, I was devastated.”

“I know. So, what later happened? tell me all.”

“So, I asked Adams, he said you were gone and I went to ask my father, he was busy getting drunk and I was furious. He wouldn’t tell me what happened and I got so angry and must have acted so rudely, he punched me so hard.”

Ruthie gasped, “Santos Dios! Where?”

“Across my cheek...”

“Let me see.”

Andy turned his cheek towards her and he caressed it with her hand, Tracy and Reeva only chuckled in amusement.

“So what happened next?” Ruthie asked.

“Well, he just slumped.”

“What?”

“Yes, he slumped and we rushed him to the hospital.”

“Oh my God!” Ruthie gasped, “I caused all this. How is he?”

“I really don’t know Ruthie, I was so furious with him and ....I told the doctor not to call me again.”

Ruthie gasped again and stood up, rushed to the table, her purse was there. The rest watched as she brought out her phone and switched it on.

“What are you doing?”

“I am calling the hospital. It’s the family hospital right?”

“Yes.” Andy replied.

Ruthie dialed a number on her phone and then put the call on a loudspeaker.

“Hello Doctor?”

“Ruthie/”

“Yes its me.”

“Where have you been? I have been calling you for hours.”

“I’m so sorry, how is Michael? I heard that he is with you.”

“Yes, that was why I have been calling you, in fact, I couldn’t get a hold of his son as well, only his butler is here.”

“Okay,please, how is he?”

“Well, I’m sorry but he is dead. He died few hours ago.”
