I'd grown accustomed to watching him.... The boy with the sad eyes.
Every day, I watched the pain beneath those eyes grow. I watched it eat his soul bit by bit until he was empty....
I watched him pray for death like it was the only solution to his misery and maybe it was.
As years flew by, he became a figment of my imagination but those sad eyes haunted me, even in my dreams.

I squeezed the paper. A disappointed sigh escaped from my lips as I threw yet another one into the waste bin which was almost filled now.
The wall clock hanging infront of me showed I had just two hours left.
I buried my face in my palms as tears clouded my vision.
Had I made the right decision?
Could I do this?
The vibration in the pocket of my trouser pulled me away from my thoughts.
She'd sent a text..... And suddenly, I knew what I had to do to protect her.
