"John's dead."
I squeezed my eyes shot, tears threatening to escape as I demanded for answers.
They were going to pay.

Eyes.
I could feel them everywhere.
I chewed my food uncomfortably, the hairs on my back standing alert from the danger I knew was hovering around me.
"Are you okay?" Kathy, my best friend asked, worry lacing her voice as she studied me. I noticed she'd barely touched her lunch too.
I shook my head, my voice too weak to be heard.
"Still about John?"
Tears blurred my vision as memories of my boyfriend flooded my mind . It'd been almost a month now but I swear it felt like I was living in that day.
I remembered every detail precisely.
Every minute spent as I cried on the ground, cluting him hard against me and cursing myself for being late.
Every promise whispered against his ears in hope he'd be able to gather enough strength to survive.
Every prayer uttered to a supreme being I barely believed in.
Every effort made to keep him alive till the paramedics could arrive.
They were in vain.
I knew I was gonna lose him. The signs as clear as the difference between day and night.
And as I tried my best to accept what fate had had in store for us, his last words made it simply impossible.
Barely audible and full of pains, he'd broken me without even realizing it.
John gave up with a smile on his bloodied face.
I hadn't realized I'd been crying until I felt warm fingers brush my tears away.
"I'm so sorry." She whispered
