Jason what are you doing? where on earth did you learn that from? Who has imbibed this into you? Screamed the old Woman who saw Jason trying to put his hand into a girl of his Age's underwear. He explained that it wasn't what she thought that he was trying to help her take out some of the rice that fell off her spoon to avoid stains. Shut up who do you think you are fooling, Ije is that true? Ije with Food in her mouth nodded in agreement.
Mama came back and the first visitor to their house was the old Woman, immediately Jason saw her, he knew what was going to happen after she leaves
. Jason! Jason! mama anamabia(am coming). Just as his guess was, Mama locked the door and gave him the dose of his life. He cried asking God why this happened to him, the ones he has been involved in for a while now, no leakage from that side but on the one he had no intention of any such he got punished for it. Sleep took him off guard and Jason politely obey for he knew that it's always been his medicine to cure the dose.
In primary 4 Jason end of session results was not pleasant to his Grandmum as he came out 13th position out of a class of 35 pupils. She asked him to repeat which was shameful to him but after consolations from his headmistress and class teacher, he obliged even though he had no choice anyway.
He resumed his old class with new classmates

. Some of his classmates mocked him for not following his mates. This affected Jason's self esteem. He tried to discover where he got it wrong from, whether his distracted attention to females or too much play. He declined the post of class captain, because he couldn't face the whole class as some of them were still pestering him. After school one day the headmistress called him into her office, Jason thought she wanted him to arrange her office but he was ordered to sit down and they spoke for close to an hour. Jason came out feeling better although he cried during the discussion but he was smiling as he waved thier headmistress goodby after she dropped him off.
From that day onwards Jason never bothered about his mockers any longer rather he was busy working out his errors to make sure the incident does not occur again.
An inter-house sport was organized in the village school for the first time, draws were made from which various members of the houses. Jason was in the red house which was what he wanted because red happened to be his favorite colour. Kanu who was Jason's best luckily was also in the same group with him even though he was a class ahead of him. Kanu never mocked Jason for his short fall, he always stood by him. They practiced together at home as they were participating in the same kind of sport including the traditional cultural group. Pupils from different were invited to compete against each other. Jason and Kanu were involved in the relay race which their house came first, they finished second in the match pass. At the end of it all Red house came out second to Green house which was occupied by some of the oldest boys in the school, many of them with long legs which was an added advantage to them.
After the announcement of final results, the various houses were allowed to match round the village from home to home especially that of the noble men whom the houses were named after. They made a lot of money from this adventure but majority of it was collected by their house masters while they shared the left over.
They wrote their first term exams and Jason's result again??
