Jason come on stand and stop all this pretense, i know your type oo, and if you think deceiving yourself will work, please try harder said Martha as she watched him breathing profusely on the floor. She called him again and left. It was precious his son who later ran inside to call her that Jason he's about to die and if she doesn't do anything that she will be arrested for murder as he had read in one of his books. "shut up my friend who is a murderer"?? She went back to the scene where Jason was and started pressing his chest, she asked her children to get her the first aids box and water.
They brought it for her and she resuscitated him . It was in the process that she knew he was not joking because she studied nursing in the University even though she wasn't practicing. Who knows maybe its her hot temperedness that made her husband relegate her to the post of an house wife so that she will not kill people in the hospital out of impatient. Jason never believed that she was a nurse until he stumbled on her certificate while cleaning up their room one particular day. He even thought of burning it because she does not merit to be called a nurse. To Jason it will be an abomination to call her a nurse except maybe to only her children who she carried and pampered like eggs.
Jason woke up an hour later, he could have woken up immediately after her medication on him but just to put her in a more complex condition, he decided to rest before he wakes and resume work.
He knew that things will be worse when he stand up, maybe expecting her to ask him to clean her nails or even bath her if possible just to punish him for putting her in such condition forgetting that she was responsible for his predicament.
On occasions where Jason had severe headache or any other sickness she had always tagged him a pretender

. But when she or any of her children had any slight headache the whole house will not be at peace.
Gradually the neighbours started noticing the way she treated Jason especially the ones living in the ground floor of their story building apartment. They hear there conversations all the time. But the ones outside their compound wouldn't know except Jason told them because she always posed like he took care of him like his own son.
Just three two months into his stay, Jason was fed up with his new home and the worst of it all was that there was no single soul to console him except his cousins i.e his uncle's children who had come to apologise on there mother's behalf on some situations.
His mom who put him on this journey had not spoken to him since he arrived to know how he was faring but it never really mattered since she has never always been there for him.
Suicide mission was the next thing on his agenda since he was of no significant to anyone, he questioned God whom he had secretely giving his life to in his closest why he brought him into this world to face all this. He remembers reading a place in the scriptures that suicide was a sin but he's mind was made up.
Surprisingly to him Martha bought rat poison while coming back from the market to kill the rats disturbing them at home. Jason thought of putting some in their soup so that all of them can go down the drain, but he can't use his ragae to spoil other people's blues after all he had no issue with the kids just there mom but if he poisoned her who will take care of them.
Jason put them aside and decided to bear his cross alone. He put some particles of it in his cup of tea. Just as he was about to drink it, Martha called him.
