Emmanuel:

I got to the office early this morning. I cant wait to get this

project finished so i can go back to London. There is nothing for me

here. Just memories of loved ones who died and left me. The only good

experiences so far, are my encounters with the airport lady. I cant

stop thinking about her till now . She reminds me so much of tessy.

They even have the same mole on the back of their neck. I wonder why

we always meet. Could fate be bringing us together?. Standing in front

of the elevator waiting for its descent, i think on this. I haven't

seen her for a week now and it wouldn't hurt to see her face that is

so much like tessy's. Am i drawn to her just because she looks like

tessy or because she is beautiful?. For years now, no girl have ever

gotten my interest. No matter how beautiful. This must be because of

my obsession with tessy. We weren't on good terms when she died and

this has bothered me since. The airport lady may look like tessy but

they act differently. This one is tougher. The tessy i know wouldn't

flip a guy. She wouldn't have the heart or the strength to do so. The

elevator pings then open and i walk in

. I raise my head to punch in

the floor number and that when i see the airport lady standing in

front of the elevator. I blink my eyes to make sure she wasn't a

figment of my imagination. She is still standing before me. She looks

wary of me. And this offends me. Why is she always avoiding my company

and i know she would have let me kiss her last week. I don't

understand her. The elevator starts to close and i place my hand to

stop it.

"are you getting in or what?" i ask her.

"umm, no, I'll just wait for the next one" she says

"what's wrong with this one?"

"umm, nothing"

"then get in, i don't bite, except you want me to" i say then wink at

her. She turns to leave but i hold i elbow and drag her in.

"what's your problem?!" she screams and i hold her till the elevator

starts to move. Yes, now she is stuck with me. She stands at the other

end of the elevator.

"do you work here?" she asks me

"something like that"

"so you don't really work here?" she asks and her eye lights up at the

thought. I am so happy to burst her bubble.

"i am the acting CEO of this company" i say and the elevator opens at

my floor and i walk out after dropping that bomb. By her dressing she

must work here too. Well, it would be fun to be her boss. This must be

a nightmare for her. I am sure, she cant believe that the guy she

flipped and almost kissed a week ago is going to be her boss. I walk

with a little swagger to my step as my day just got brighter. Working

here just got better. I walk into my office and i see her in my

peripheral vision walking behind me. Oh, she must want to apologise. I

sit on my chair and she walks in and stand in front of me.

"i am a busy man, just get your apology over and done with so i can

concentrate on important things" i say.

"what? Apologise?. I am not here to apologise" she isn't?

"then what are you doing in my office?"

"i am here to report for duty. I am the new intern. I am going to be

your assistant for the next few months" she says and i smile. I don't

remember the last time i smiled sincerely but Oh, this just got

better.

"okay assistant, i need my morning shot of caffeine. Go to the coffee

shop in the next street and get me a capacinno extra foam, no sugar

and be back within five minutes." i command. She repeats my order

after me and dash out of my office. There is no way she would be able

to find the coffee shop within five minutes. I sit on my desk and

carry the nearest file on my table. This used to be my father's and

memories assaults me as i sit here. I hear my phone ringing and i pick

it up. Its Mr one's secretary. Mr oge is a politician who i have been

trying to convince to give me a contract. The contract my dad was

after before his stroke. I want to make it come through for my dad.

The secretary tells me Mr oge is in the office. After i end the call,

i pick my car keys and rush out. I have to be in ughelli within an

hour or i might not meet Mr oge. I drive like a maniac through warri

and enter ughelli. At isiokolo junction, a little girl runs into the

road with the wares she's hawking. I press on my break and barely

avoid hitting her.

. I stop my car and rush to her as she slump on the

ground and hit her head on the tarred road. I look down at her and

notice that she looks so much like olivia, just a bit older. I wonder

why i keep meeting people that look like them this days. I push this

thought out of my mind and carry her in my car to the hospital. As i

get to the hospital, i get a call from Mr one's secretary informing me

that Mr oge just left the office. Right now, that is not my concern.

Some hours after the doctor attended to her. I hear her talking so i

walk to her side to see that she's asleep. She toss and turn on the

bed as she continuously scream for tessy to help her. Tessy?. Why is

she calling for tessy?. Is this a coincidence? Or am i going crazy?
