The Twist - Episode 44
Hi guys.
I am so delighted we have come this far.
This is my first story here and I am so happy to have so many followers.
Though I am a freelance writer for Envoy magazine, I have never experienced the kind of likes and comments I received from you guys daily.
It really woke me up from my slumber.
I am glad to announce February 3rd being Sunday is my birthday.
So I am likely to wrap this story up tomorrow and prepare for my birthday bash!

The doctor removed his specs and cleaned it with a white handkerchief.
He put it back and stared at the lab result again.
How these things happened still beats him.
He look at the man sitting in front of him and felt sorry for him.
"Well Mr. Mark, I am sorry to say this but your blood did not match your daughter's own"
"I don't understand, she is my daughter . And her mother is my wife."
Mark said.
"I know. What I have here stated that your blood doesn't match"
Mark scoffed.
"There must be a mistake somewhere. You have to retake that test doctor."
"Listen Mr. Mark, your daughter's life is in danger

Mark's face changed to.
He sat there like a zombie for some minutes.
The doctor watched him carefully and was relieved when He finally sighed, searched for his phone but couldn't find it.
"My phone. I can't find it"
He said in a husky voice.
The door opened and Dr. Uche walked in.
He shook hands warmly with the doctor and patted Mark on the back.
"Here is your phone.

. You forgot it in my office."
Dr. Uche said and gave Mark the phone.
"How is Chidimma doing?"
He asked Mark but instead of answering, he snatched the phone from Dr. Uche and without talking to both doctors; he rushed out of the office.
"What is biting him? Is the girl dead?"
Dr. Uche asked alarmed.
The doctor wiped his face with the handkerchief and pointed at the lab result on the table.
Dr. Uche picked up the result and read it.
He glanced at the doctor and sat down heavily on the chair.
"Dr. Ben, I want to tell you something. Just promised me you will do as I say?"
"Whatever it is Dr. Uche, you have my promise"
The doctor replied and Dr. Uche told him.
From Ruby's POV. Ruby entered the ward where Jake was and saw him talking to 2 beautiful nurses.
They were laughing happily. Jake saw her and hugs her tight.
"Here comes my sun shine."
He said to both nurses, stared at Ruby and smiled pleasantly.
"Sweetheart, just like the sun brightens the day, that's how you brightens my life.
I will soon own the most expensive restaurant in this country.
I was just telling these nurses I will be travelling to Europe for some exclusive shopping" Ruby laughed.
"You are joking right? You don't even have the money to pay for your medical bills and you wanna go to Europe."
"I wonder when you will start believing in me."
Jake said.
He picked up his phone and showed her the bank alert.
Ruby was stunned.
15.2 million naira! Is this a dream? The room swirled around her and plunged into darkness...

Whoa I didn't see that one coming, Chidimma is not his daughter?..... I can imagine the look on Mark's face when he found out,now he understands the definition of the word BETRAYAL, now back to the question, who is Chidimma's real dad???
