The Twist - Episode 42
Bashir was sneaking silently in the bush when he suddenly saw a vast open space with sand dunes and broken rocks.
He was in a quarry site.
Crouching in the bush, he gently surveyed the land and the sand for foot prints. Yea, there they are, lots of it.
He followed the unmistakable footprints of Romeo to a certain distance and saw a glimpse of the black sweat shirt hidden among the grass.
So that's where he hole up.
Bashir mused and began to advance towards the hidden figure; his gun pointing ahead of him with his finger resting on the trigger ready to pull.
Unknown to Bashir, Romeo had removed his shirt and used it as a bait by hiding it near the grass where he will see it.
He had deliberately stamped his feet to make an impression on the sand.
He had slightly hide the shirt among the tall grasses to make it look as if he was crouching there.
Hiding behind a sand dune, he now saw Bashir as he advanced towards the bait with the A.K 47 ready to shoot.
Romeo smiled.
The security officer will never know what hits him.
Holding his gun by the barrel, he uses it as a club and quickly moved after Bashir; the sand deadening the sound of his feet.
He was almost on Bashir and was ready to use the gun butt as a club.
He was aiming at Bashir's head when his phone rang.
It was Stella calling him. Bashir; on hearing the ringing, turn around and saw the swinging butt coming towards his head.
Romeo was too close and Bashir was a little bit slow in his reaction.
He raised his hand up to wade off the blow, the gun butt hit him on the left arm and They both hear the cracking sound of a bone.
Bashir screamed and staggered back.
The impact of the blow has knocked off the gun from his grasp and numbed his arm.
Romeo did not waste time, he swung the butt again with all his strength; aiming at Bashir's head.
Bashir dodged the second blow and dove forward; hitting Romeo on the belly with his shoulder.
Romeo fall down and struggles to stand on his feet.
Bashir kicked him down again and pounce on him.
He hit Romeo on the ear with his clenched fist and felt an electric shock up to his arm.
The blow slowed Romeo down.
The sound of an approaching helicopter reached them and Bashir looked up

. Romeo; feeling dazed by the blow, clubbed Bashir on the jaw with his palm but the blow held no power.
He groped and managed to push Bashir off his body.
He wanted to run inside the bush but Bashir was already on his feet and sprung towards him like a wild cat.
With his free hand, he grabbed Romeo by the belt and smashed his damaged arm on his neck; knocking him out.
The pilot of the helicopter was watching them and sending back reports for immediate assistance.
He brought the chopper down and Bashir limped towards it; grabbing him arm.
The pilot examined the hand.
"How bad is it?"
"Not so bad. Get me your first aid box and I need to get to Ikoyi quick. I want to stop the lady who masterminded this act from running into hiding"
The pilot nodded and Bashir entered the chopper.
He opened the first aid box the pilot showed him in the medical apartment and began to treat himself.
The pilot tied Romeo up and dumped him inside the chopper.
He quickly entered the cockpit, lifted the helicopter and alert the patrol cars their next destination...
