Hey guys, I am so sorry. Writers block decided to visit me. I was blank for the past three days, but I'm back here for real. I missed you guys...

Five Years After

We had been married for five years and the union produced two children. A boy and girl. A boy was first, followed by a girl. I chose to call the first, Anderson who was a boy, while Funmi decided she would name the second one . She named her, Bola. Anderson was four, while Bola was two. We got a house help who took care of our kids while we went to work. Funmi got her with the help of her mother. According to Funmi, she lives in the same area her mother lives in, and she is well behaved. I didn't care. After all, Funmi knows what's right for our kids. She wouldn't mean harm and chose what's best

Funmi was sponsored by her company to further her education abroad, so she would get promoted;. I was happy when she broke the good news to me. It would be a two weeks study in the United Kingdom; England. I was happy and at the same time sad that I'll be alone for a while, but I had to make sacrifice for our future.

Before we slept, during the night she announced it. She had finished bathing, while I was in the bed, putting on pyjamas and fixated on my laptop working on some business issues. I was helping my MD on a speech she would deliver during Queen's college graduation

. She was invited to motivate the girls child. According to her, she was blank on words she'd deliver at the ceremony, and begged if I could be of help, since I could actually empower the girls' child and we agreed on ideologies. She offered me the job on a monetary rewards, but I accepted to do it at a zero cost for her. She thanked me.

My wife entered the bedroom, still had a towel around her waist and shower cap on her head.

"Hi, dear, this your workplace is really hectic, I guess?. You are on laptop everyday, or are you now an internet fraudster?", she asked and joked.

"You are funny. Internet fraudster, really?", I said, typed the last sentence and jammed the laptop close. I would edit later, I thought in my head. I explained all I was doing on the laptop to her and she smiled.

"Oh, you just reminded of a good news. Well, it's all about the office matters", she said.

"Really, oh well, I am happy I am the reminder of the great news ahead", I teased her. She laughed, came closer and pinched me. I responded and held her hands.

"Errr, I am getting sponsored to obtain a degree and tutored more on my discipline and how to relate well with people. Speak more in public and mentor people out there.", she said. I feel I'm getting there, she said again and rounded her hands around her chest.

"Oh really? That's a good news. I am sure your position will get higher", I said. I stood up immediately and started dancing.

"Baby boy, you are so funny. How did you know? Sure I'll get promoted. Maybe to something really high. I'm on a high hope", she said. I gave her two thumb happiness sign.

"What will now happen to Anderson and Bola? They need motherly figure for the whole two weeks", she said.

"That's why we have a house girl here. Pursue your dreams. After all, all these motherly figure you are talking about, you mostly have time for them during weekends. What's really the big deal?. You are spending just few weeks there", I said. She looked into my eyes, and blurted.

"I am happy I married a husband like you. Can you believe that Sheila was advising me otherwise.

. Only Bella and Lola advised me like you did", she said. I laughed in my mind, when she mentioned Lola. I knew she has an ulterior motive. Bella was engaged and about to get married, but Lola had a relationship stint which didn't last two years and they broke up after that. Funmi hugged me for being a caring husband that believed in his wife, and we both went to beds. The next morning, our driver dropped the kids to school and went to our separate work places. It was the work of our driver to take them to school, but after school, he'd be accompanied by the house girl to bring them back.

********************************************
On a Saturday morning, Funmi went to a wedding she was invited to. We never went to weddings together except we were invited as a couple, or one of who wasn't invited knew the celebrants. I ustayed at home with Anderson and Bola. Our house girl was home too, but she spent most of the times in the kitchen before she resorted to sleep after she was done. I took care of the kids and cautioned them when they went to places they weren't meant to be .
