Maya:

"I can't believe this huge hotel doesn't have a spare room for Jordan. We'd have loved our privacy." Deane complain for the hundredth time today. It's already evening and all through the day, Deana kept Bea and I busy. She was okay with talking excessively while I daydreamed about Derrick who I haven't seen since Deana arrived and Beatrice also seem to be lost in thoughts about a certain playboy with STIs.
"Stop complaining Deana. You were the one who didn't want to share a room with Beatrice while I pair with Xavier." I hear her fiance point out and I'm thinking the reason she kicked against that was so she could be with him in one room.
"I just didn't want that one corrupting you with all his virus." Deana says innocently . I just lay on my side on my bed and pretend to be asleep. I don't want them thinking I'm a creep watching their bickering.
"Funny, but a little fairy told me you just don't want to be separated from me. You know, because I'm hot and all." He teases. I imagine Deana blushing the colour of ripe tomato.
"Thank goodness you know my motives. Which means, I don't have to seduce you as usual. Now just be a good boy and lay on the bed so I can---" I can't hear anymore of this so I fly out of bed, coughing incessantly

. Two pairs of eyes meet mine and I blush.
"Someone was being a bad girl and listening to adult conversation." Deana starts giggling as I shake my head violently.
"I--i- it---- I mean I." I can't even get a word out of my embarrassment.
"Oh my God Maya! You are bloody red in the face!" Her giggling gets worse and she clutch her stomach.
"Don't make her uncomfortable." Her fiance grind out seriously.
"Hey I was just kidding. I wonder why you get so serious when it comes to Maya. Just like on the beach." Deana pouts. Her fiance goes to say something but I quickly cut in.
"I'm fine. Totally not embarrassed. I think I just swallowed a mosquito. I better go downstairs and get some water." I quickly excuse myself and fly out of the room. I breathe a long sigh of relief to be out of there before deciding to really go downstairs and get a drink. I'd just take the drink up to Bea's room and hang with her for a while. At least to give Deana time to execute her plans for her fiance.
 It doesn't take much time for me to find the bar and get myself a tall glass of chilled soda which I'm being careful not to spill on the posh floor.
 I'm so immersed in making sure I don't spill my drink that I don't pay attention to where I'm going and I walk into someone. I gasp in horror as the drink slip out of my hand and end up all over the impeccably starched Ankara of my victim.
"What the hell?! You clumsy fool!" A familiar voice screech and I lift my head up to come face to face with none other than Angy. I register the shock on her face which quickly turns to anger.
"I should have known it's you! Always present to spoil my day!" She spit out while I bow my head in shame as people stare at us.
"That's enough diamond. You are causing a scene." The old man whose clothes I just bathed with soda says coldly and I think he's referring to Angy. When did her name become diamond?
"Baby don't tell me you are taking this bitch's side? She's trash!" Angy as always start going hysterical and I walk a few steps away from her. She sees my retreat and lunge herself at me in fury. She gets my hair first and grab a huge chunk of it.
"Stop it right now!" The old man tries to pry angy away from me. I'm sure he doesn't like this scene because it'll surely bring attention to him. He looks like an important person in this town and people are starting to take pictures of this scene. How did my honeymoon turn into this? Tears spring up in my eyes but I push them back. I'll never cry for this woman.
"Fuck this! You aren't worth your trouble diamond! Lose my number." The old man give up on trying to stop Angy as he throws his index finger in her face.
"Remember this, slut. If this shit blow up my chance at becoming the local government chairman, you better leave town." With this he storms off to God knows where. Angy looks from his retreating back to me and I see her crazy meter reach an alarming stage.
"You trash!" She propel her tiny fist into my stomach and damn it, she packs a mean punch. I clutch my stomach and wait for her next blow which comes quickly against my chin. I grind my teeth against the pain because I know there'll be more. Where's the security of this hotel anyways? Angy's fist goes up again and I close my eyes to prepare for it.
"Fuck off." The soft but menacing whisper has me opening my eyes to see Deana's fiance holding Angy's fist as he breaths down on her neck. I see Angy visibly cower.
"You're hurting my hand. Let go of me so I can fuck off." She silently plead. His eyes are not on Angy though. They rest on my face.
"Tell me you are okay." He says and I nod. 
"Are you sure?" He asks me like he wants me to say no do he can squash Angy.
"Sir, let go of the lady." Two uniformed security men reach us and I sigh. Deane's fiance mutters an expletive of curses before letting go of Angy who has gotten cocky with the guards on her side.
"She's fucking you isn't she? No wonder she's here in this posh hotel.

. Do you know she's the trashcan girl? Well, I advise you abandon her before she contaminates you. It won't be the first anyways. Even her mother did the exact same thing." Those hurtful words sink in and as usual, anything about my mother leaving, hurts. What makes this worse is the chattering of the people watching us and the look of scorn and disgust on most of their faces. The look of surprise on Deane's fiance's face is enough to break me and I flee.
