Synder-Ella - Episode 5

 

“So you got measured for a cloth that would never be yours?”

“Drop it Zi, it’s not a big deal!” Synder said, arranging Fiona’s wardrobe and you know that you can’t be in Fiona’s room with me, if she finds out that we are together, she can have a seizure.”

They both laughed.

“I hate that girl.” Zi said, walking to the dressing table in the room and looking at one of the pictures on it. “Everything on her is pierced . She has a ring everywhere, her navel, her tongue, I bet she pierced her private part as well.”

Synder scoffed and shook her head, “I don’t know about that but I am asking you to go to my room and wait for me there, you can’t be here.”

“Look, I am here because I had a dream about you and I need to share it. Besides I only saw the gardener, the pool-boy and some other maids, where is everyone?” Zi asked, going through Fiona’s makeup kit now.

Synder realized what she was doing and walked towards her, collected the kit from her, and pulled her away from the dressing table.

“Everyone is out because Madame Pierre is teaching Katrina horse riding.”

Zi chuckled, “Madame Pierre, what name is that? sounds like something from a nightmare.”

“She is from France and yea, she is French dumbass! Will you stop going through Fiona’s things, you will drive me out of this house!”

Zi sighed and sat on the bed, “you are no fun. Aren’t you even a bit curious as to what dream I had?”

“I know your dream is all about me and some handsome prince and that is not going to be!”

“But come on, don’t you even believe in handsome princes that will take your breath away and make all your dreams come true?”

“No, I don’t.

. Besides, those are stuffs that Katrina believes in and that is why she is going to this thing. Right now, man and I are like two divergent roads, I am not interested. There is no man that can make my dream come true except if i do whstever my stepmother asks me to do, maybe she will give me my inheritance oneday.”

“What is it that you really want?” Zi asked, “I know you must have a wish. You can’t just want to stay as a maid for the rest of your life, do you?”

Synder sighed and sat on the bed, “what I wish for?”

“Yes.” Her friend nodded.

“Come with me.” She said and the two ladies ran out of the room and down to the other end of the room which belonged to Katrina.

The room was large and expensively furnished just like all the other rooms in the house. There were expensive embroideries on the wall and the bed was raised on a dais like the ones you see in movies, there was a separate door which led to the balcony, the room had its own balcony where you could see the world below.

“This I so beautiful.”  Zi said. “How come Fiona’s room is not this beautiful?”

Synder shrugged, “Pauline is trying to raise Katrina as a proper lady, a princess, Fiona is no princess, even her character is not princess-like,” while talking, she went towards one of the  closets and opened it. It was filled with so many clothes that were not even worn yet.

“Do you think that Katrina will know if I steal anyone of them?” Zi asked but Synder ignored her, instead she dipper her hand inside and brought out a big box which she carried out carefully to the bed.

“What is that?” Zi asked, following her to the bed where they both sat with the box between them.

“These...” Synder started, opening the box, “are my wishes....”

Zichat gasped as she saw a pair of the most beautiful shoes she had ever seen. They were heels made of glasses and they glittered as the ray of light fell on them. The edges were lined with diamonds which sparkled everytime.

“Are those real diamonds?” Zi asked, tracing them with her fingers.

“Yea, they are, my mother would never have won a fake diamond.”

“Your mother?”

“Yea, the shoes belonged to my mother.”

“So how come they are in Katrina’s possessions?” Zi asked, looking at her.

Synder sighed, “Pauline wants her to wear it to the banquet.”

“That is so not fair, you should be the one to go to this thing, you should be the one to wear those shoes. You are the owner of all these things that your stepmother is enjoying with her kids, this is so not fair!”

Synder smiled and packed the box back into the closet.

“Well, but that is how fate wants it and I don’t want to be sent out of my father’s house, so I have no choice but to comply and go with whatever they do.”

While they talked, they heard noises downstairs.

“Quickly! They are back!”
