Anadia.

I wake up to little drummers holding a concert in my head.

I groan.

My mouth feels like something crawled inside it and died.

Ugh.

Where's Kane? I need some water.

I try to croak out his name but my throat is too dried for that.

I slowly open my eyes but close it when the bright lights of my room almost blinds it.

Bright light? In my room? Impossible. 

I open my eyes again, this time more slowly so as to adjust to the light, when I fully look around I realize I'm in an hospital room.

The beeping noise of an electrocardiograph intrudes and I glance at it. 

I glance around the room and I'm the only one inside. 

Why am i in a hospital? What happened? 

The doors open and Kane steps through the door, he looks like he hasn't had much sleep. 

"Hey" I croak, he lifts his head and relief courses through his face at my wakefulness. 

"Hey baby" He says, hurrying to my bed side. 

"What happened?" I ask, I can remember him saying he was going to get me drugs and that's all. 

Did I fall? Did my stalker do something to me? 

The ECG monitor starts beeping out of control and I know my heart rate has increased. 

"Hey hey hey" He soothes, stroking my hair back. 

"Tell me what happened" I say. 

Before he can answer the doors open and a guy in white steps through. 

"I see you are finally awake Mrs King" He says and I guess he's the doctor. What happened to the family doctor? 

"He's abroad, I had to bring you here" Kane says and I realize I said that out loud. 

"Why am I here?" I ask. 

"You were feeling a little out of sorts so your husband brought you, stress and extreme activities aren't good for the baby, we have to be thankful nothing happened to it, seeing that your previous pregnancy was unsuccessful" He says and I blink, Caspian's hand finds mine and I hold tight, not totally understanding what this man is saying. 

"What do you mean the baby?" I ask and he lifts his head. 

"Ha, I see you had no idea, well congrats Mrs King you are four weeks pregnant" He says. 

"You were bleeding when you were brought in and that was because of the stress, your husband told me about the situation and I would advice bed rest until you successfully deliver this baby" 

He said a lot of things just now but I'm stuck on one fact, I was bleeding. 

"I was bleeding?" 

"Not to worry, its a not abnormal when a mother is going through stress, I am glad you were brought here as soon as you were" He says and I nod. 

Relief in my chest, my other hand creeps to my stomach and I look at Kane. 

"Turns out we were wrong" I whisper. 

"I've never been more glad" He says and I smile. 

"Well, you must understand Mrs King that's its best for you and for your child not to be stressed, that means no plane rides, no sex, no long walks, no lifting of heavy objects, none of the things you would normally do, you are to be confined to a bed at all times"He says and I nod.

. I can do that, I can totally do that, anything for my baby. 

"Good, now, you can receive more visitors, there are some people outside who wants to come in here" He says and I nod, quenching the urge to laugh in giddiness. 

Another thought stops me. 

"But.. Doctor.. I just had my period.. How's that possible?" 

He nods in understanding. 

"I'm very sure what you experienced wasn't a period but an implantation bleeding, you could say it's the baby getting acquainted with the uterus, it's absolutely normal and for the fact it stopped by itself is also normal" 

"It was really light" I say. 

"It's normal" 

"But it's not going to affect the baby is it?" I ask, I have to be sure. 

"No, it's not going to affect the baby if you keep to all those things I said, and also of you come for regular check ups, I will prescribe some drugs for you but for it be be successful you must keep your feet up at all times" He says and I nod. 

"Good, a nurse is going to come by very soon to take your blood and check your blood pressure, do not be alarmed its perfectly normal" He says and I nod. 

He smiles at me before stepping out, the door opens almost immediately and Anaya and the twins step in, cash following them, they look like they've been crying, with the exception of Cash 

I sit up, trying to look bright. 

"What did the doctor say? Is it serious? Do you need to go into surgery? Tell me something" Anaya says, almost hysterically. 

"Calm down, I'm fine" I say, smiling. 

"You've been out since morning, its past six in the evening, you can't be fine" 

I don't know what to say but I feel overwhelming gratitude that she cares for me. 

I know I and Anaya always have our differences but recently I feel like we are getting close. 

"I'm just pregnant, nothing too much" I say and she blinks, rocking back. 

"Pregnant?" Aroofa whispers? 

"Yeah" I whisper back. 

"But... But Anaya said you were bleeding" Aroos says just as the sliding doors opens and Linda and Kevin steps in. 

"The doctor said it was just stress, that I should rest extra and take it easy till the baby comes" I say. 

"Baby?" Linda asks, looking like she ran extra hard, I'm getting the feel that she just arrived. 

"Where have you been?" Cash asks, his eyes moving from her to Maurice who is stepping in. 

"None of your business, I'm here for Anadia" She says and I know they will be having words later. 

Cash turns to look at her and I'm sure I'm the only one who notices Maurice positioning protectively. 

"You didn't have to come Maurice, you must be really sick" I say and he nods. 

"I.." 

"I called him, I had to leave where I was, Kevin called to tell me about this, how am I the last person hearing about this?" 

"Maybe if you spent the night at home you will find out?" Cash says sarcastically and Aroofa looks guilty, she must have told him. 

"Did you sleep at home, Cassius?" She asks, anger evident in her voice. 

Who is Cassius? Is Cash's full name Cassius? 

Wow. 

"Hey" Kane says with deathly silence. 

Everyone stills, Cash included. 

"All of you get out if you are going to argue, Anadia doesn't need this kind of stress" He says. 

Nobody says anything for a moment until Maurice breaks the ice. 

"Congratulations Mrs King" 

"Thank you Maurice" That seems to get everyone out of their funk and suddenly there's a cacophony of noise. 

Baby names gets thrown around and congratulations are passed. 

I'm grinning so hard my face is in danger of splitting. 

It comes to an end when the nurse steps I and they all exit. 

Kane holds my hand as the nurse takes my blood but I don't feel it much. 

I'm too happy.
