Redemption - Episode 14

 

Sorry for the delay guys. I have been having really bad headaches these days so I can't concentrate enough to write. It's still a bit bad but this is for you all.

Three days later.
 Benedicta:

"Babe? I can't find my phone. Have you seen it anywhere?" I rummage through the drawers in our room. I still can't find it . Luis walk out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist while he wipes his hair with a smaller towel.
"Have you searched among those cosmetics I bought you yesterday?" He asks and I shake my head. I rummage around some more but my phone is there. 
"What do you need your phone for anyways?" Luis walks to where I am and starts helping me find it.
"Babe. I know you said I should give my dad time to cool off but I want to talk to him. I have to apologize." I am becoming teary eyed from thinking about my dad. I don't blame him for reacting the way he did. I disappointed him.
"Come here Bennie" Luis wrap his arms around me in comfort.
"Listen. Don't sweat it. I am sure it is just around here somewhere. I don't want you stressing yourself. You know how much I worry when I go to work right?" He whisper into my ear and I nod.
"I will help you call him but umm right now I don't have any airtime. Why don't I help you relax so you can fall asleep peacefully." He pulls away from me to look down into my eyes

. I nod reluctantly and he smiles.
"Yes! I got that Korean movie you talked about last night. The heirs. We should watch that. I would put some popcorn in the microwave too. We need to have ourselves another date." He seems excited and I can't help but chuckle. I shouldn't give him a hard time. He has done more than I expected. He accepted my pregnancy, gave me roof over my head and he's still trying to make me happy. Just yesterday, he took me to the mall and bought me new clothes. It is unlike what I usually wear at home but they were gorgeous. He is actually spoiling me with all the gifts. I should be appreciative.
"You good with the plan for the evening?" He asks me and I nod again. 
"I love popcorns"I say and he kisses my cheek. I can't say I am not happy right now but I need to reconcile with my family.

Lucas:

"Nice one Jake. Your album is going to be a mega hit like always." I say dryly as Jake exit the booth. It has been a week since Luis called to tell me I am going to be an uncle soon. I still can't get over the shock. My star just keeps getting more unreachable.
"Hey! Earth to Lucas" Jake snap his fingers in my face and I jerk in a bit of shock.
"Did you say something?" I ask while biting my lip ring. Jake gives me a weird look before settling himself in a chair beside me. The rest of our crew has gone home so it is just the both of us.
"Okay. Spill." He says while looking at me. Spill?
"What?" I ask, clearly distracted.
"What's going on with you. I notice you have been moody ever since we started working together. Don't you like the rhythm or the lyrics of the song?" He ask and I shake my head.
"Umm no sir. It is amazing actually."I say.
"Then why the sour face? You always look like you are licking sour limes with that face" he jokes and I smile wryly. His look gets intense and he shake his head.
"I know that look. Woman trou led right?" He asks and I kind of blush. Am I that obvious? No wonder my brother clued in on the fact that I liked benedicta so easily.
"Did she reject you? Hey, tell her you know me and all your problems are over. Women love me. Hey but dont let my wife know i said that okay? She can be scary when she's jealous" He jokes and I chuckle. His wife Sarah is actually like a saint. Always smiling. She's a well known artist now but she isn't high on fame. She wears normal clothes and doesn't pride herself on being the wife of a star. The only thing she is high on is her husband and her daughter, Daisy.

"Don't mind me bro. The advice I'll give you is this. Don't just sit back. Fight for your love. I wouldn't be with Sarah now if I had sat down when she was going to leave me. She was supposed to be my step sis but i wanted her. I actually proposed at an airport. Cliche. But it saved me. More importantly, her happiness was my priority." He says with all seriousness. I sigh deeply. How can I fight when the woman I want is pregnant and with my brother.

"Dad!" The six years old daughter of Jake comes running into my studio and she lunge herself at her dad who is now standing with a big smile on his face.
"Baby!" he catches the tiny child and throw her into the air before catching her. The child's playful squeals make me feel all warm in my chest. Luis would be having this soon with my star.
"Daisy, I told you to stop running." I hear Sarah's voice from behind and I know what would come next. This people are just gushily lovy with one another.
"Sweet pea. I told you to stop climbing up. You should have just called me so I would pick you up from downstairs" Jake quickly drops Daisy and goes over to his wife.
"Am pregnant. Not crippled. Moreover, I used the elevator and I only had to climb the four steps it takes to get here." She says rolling her eyes.
"You know what those eyes does to me right? You did it on purpose. You just want to seduce me, you temptress" Jake rain kisses all over Sarah's face while Sarah giggles.
"Dad, mom said the baby kicked." Daisy squeals from behind them and Jake's face is priceless.
"I missed that? You should have called." He pouts and Sarah pinch his nose.
"Tell her to kick again"he says, putting his ears close to her tummy.
"He is sleeping."she says.
"Yea. It's pretty late. Let's go home. Maybe you can wake my daughter up so she could kick for daddy." Jake says, referring to his unborn child. Sometimes i think he has lost his marbles.
"Good night Lucas. Make sure you eat well. Your color isn't so good. You look pale. Jake must be stressing you" Sarah tells me. I thought I had become invincible to the family of four, if you count the unborn child.
"Bye cutie" Daisy says shyly as her dad takes her away.
  As they leave, the studio becomes quiet. Leaving me again to my torturous thoughts. What would Luis and my star be doing by now? Probably making another baby. Okay, I don't want that picture in my head. Maybe I should take Jake's advice. I can't take my brother's pregnant woman but at least, I should know if she's happy. My subconscious tells me I just want to see my star and I know it isn't wrong.
 Just seeing her wouldn't hurt.
 I pull my phone out and dial my mom. I don't know if Luis would tell me what I want to know. My mom picks on the third ring.
"Lucas. How are you doing? Hope you are eating well.

. You and your brother are just worrying me." She says before I can get any word out. Well, this is my chance to ask about benedicta.
"Umm mum. Where is Luis right now?" I ask.
"He's in Benin. Ever since your dad threw him and the pregnant girl he brought last week. Luis hasn't called or texted. I am actually worried. Your dad wouldn't even tell me where Luis lives there. I am thankful though that at least we would see him next weekend. Your father said the company that just employed Luis is hosting a new year party or something. Your dad was invited." My mom narrates and I nod thoughtfully. Maybe this is my chance to see if she is happy.

I guess I have to prepare for a party then
