Redemption - Episode 16

Lucas:

 What am I going to say to her? It is not like I can just introduce myself to her.
"Philip. Don't keep the lady's hand hanging" Jake whisper in my ear and I quickly snap out of it. I can be cool.
"Oh I am sorry. I get lost in thoughts sometimes" I grin sheepish and she smiles at me.
"My brother is always like that." She says and I see the quick flash of sadness in her eyes before she cover it up with a smile.
"Oh there's prisca. I should go say hi." Jake says and excuse himself with style. I know he's just giving me a chance to talk to her freely.
"Are you okay?" I ask Benedicta once Jake is out of sight and she nods.
"I just miss said brother." She gives me a wane smile. She staggers a little and it takes everything in me not to hold her. Is she drunk? Her eyes are unusually bright.
"I should get going. My fiancé might be looking for me. It was nice meeting you Philip." She nods at him and starts to walk away but I just can't let her go yet. I want her to keep talking to me me. I need more time with Her because this might be the last chance I get to talk to her before I become her brother In-law. I grab her hand to stop her

. Raw electric charge fizz between our hands. I gasp at the feeling. She looks at our joined hands then at me. I quickly drop her hand.
"Umm I can see you don't like it in here. You look a little out of it. Maybe we should just go outside for some fresh air." I say tentatively. When I see the look of distrust in her eyes, I shake my head.
"Or don't mind me. You can just___" I try to back out but she nods.
"I need the air please. I feel a little dizzy." She says and I am dumbfounded at first. She shouldn't trust a stranger but then we are just going outside.
"Okay." I say. She walks in front of me and I put my hands in my pockets to stop myself from touching her. She isn't mine.

Luis:
  Where could Benedicta have gone to? I just left her for few minutes and puff. She's gone. I am really mad right now. My boss didn't show up to the party and Benedicta is nowhere to be found. She probably went to flirt with that valet from earlier. Oh, I am going to beat the hell out of him. I fold my hands into fists as I push through the crowd in search of Benedicta. I shouldn't have let her out of my sight. Now someone is going to take her away from me.
"Hey Luis!" My mom rushes to me and I stare at her open mouthed as she hugs me.
"I have been so worried. Why didn't you call your mother?" She berrates and I sigh deeply. I should have called her but I have my hands full with Benedicta and my job hunt.
"Mom. I would get back to you, I just have to find my wife okay?" I tell her and without waiting for her assent, I walk away from her towards the entrance to find that stupid valet.
   The cool evening breeze hit me as soon as I get outside and the sound of a  familiar laughter is carried with it. It's Benedicta. She sounds happy. 
  I follow the sound of her laughter and see her with another man. I said it. She is cheating. Just one day I brought her out and she is laughing with another man. I storm with boiling rage towards them. Benedicta sees me first.
"Hey, Luis. This is__" I don't let her finish before I punch the son of a bitch in the face.
"Luis!" Benedicta yells but I don't listen to her. I grab the man by his shirt but he looks so familiar even with his now crooked glasses.
"Lucas?"
"Luis. Listen I_" he tries to say something but I don't want to hear any of that. I punch him again and this time he lands on the interlocked ground.
"Luis!" I hear my name again and this time it is my mom.
"Stop it. What are the both of you fighting for?" She seems teary but I don't listen to her. My brother has the guts to have an affair with my wife. I lunge myself at Lucas who is trying to get to his feet and I rain blows against his face.
"Luis, stop it. What are you doing?" My mom yell behind me but I can't stop.
"Mom it's okay. Take her away from here. She's not feeling too good." Lucas tells my mom referring to Benedicta even in his state right now. I just get more angry.
"She's. Mine." I grind out as I punch his face in.
"Lucas._"my mom sob.
"Go! I am fine." Lucas manage to get out.
"Shut up!" I yell in his face.

. I was just trying to help her. She is drunk. I just took her outside for some air." Lucas says but I just grab his shirt collar.
"You are a liar! I told you to stay away from her! What are you doing in Benin? She called you right? That's how you know we would be here today. Both of you are having an affair behind my back!. I know it."
"We are not. I would never do that. I am your brother" I raise my fist to punch him again but someone grab my hand from behind.
"Are you crazy? Look at him. He's not even hitting you back. You are going to kill him." The man says. I pull my hand away from the fool and get off Lucas whose face is bloody.
"Stay away from Benedicta. You are no longer my brother!" I spit before giving the fool who stopped me a murderous look and walk out of the stupid hotel.
 I quickly find a cab and head home, seriously praying that Benedicta would be there waiting for me.
