  They don’t deserve my forgiveness, they’ve done too much wrong, really.
That’s what I thought until now.

“But why am I wrong that they did me wrong?” I asked “It’s just normal to get mad and stay mad at them”

“You were called out of the normal” he replied.

  I heard a shuffling of feet and then he said “that’s not all”

  Yeah, I know already now. My parents

“Thank God you are getting to know” the man said

“Do you know what my dad did to my mum?” I asked

“I’m even mad at God for not giving him a more horrible death”

“Uhh” the man said

“I’m equally mad at my mum for being so stupid that she got herself killed . Yeah, she got herself killed. I told her severally to let us ruin away from the house, but she was believing in ‘change’” I emphasized the change sarcastically

“You know the several beatings I got from the mad man called my father?” I asked 

“He cared for no one, that miserable man. No wonder he died miserably”

“The two idiots turned me to an orphan, thank God for my uncle and his family that saved me from following suit in their deaths”

. How am I really meant to forgive them?” I asked

“The same way Jesus forgave you” the man replied

“But I didn’t offend Jesus, Adam and Eve did. Plus, their sin is nothing compared to this. This,” I said “is first class sin. I pray that man roasts in the fieriest part of hell”

“Since Adam sinned, you sinned also because you were in him. I don’t know about big sin or small sin. Sin is sin and has same reward, death.” The man said

“And you know what the Scriptures say?” he asked

“What?”

“He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our sin was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed”

  I put my hand under my chin and tap my right feet, not wanting to agree to the whole thing.

“So, man got life from His own intense suffering, and deliverance from His death.” the man said “he wore a crown made of thorns so you may get a crown of glory. You should follow in his footsteps and forgive all those who have offended you, not fpr their sake, but for His sake”
A tear ran down from my cheek, as I shook my head.

“I can’t, No, I’ve been so hurt and harboured this for years” I said “It isn’t easy”
  
  Just then, thunder struck. I jerked up from my sitting position and leaned against the door, petrified.

. It struck again, and again, and the whole room started to shake.

“What is happening here?” I shouted in fright

“Uhhh” the man said lowly. “The time is almost up, Maddy”

“What?” I shouted “What time?”

“If you’ll leave here,” he said, his voice getting farther.
  
  Is he leaving? I thought in my mind. 

“Don’t leave me!” I exclaimed

“You have to let it go” I barely heard audibly

“Unforgiveness drowns its host. It steals his joy, kills him and later destroys him” I heard in a whisper. 

“Unfortunately, you are it's present host. It has stolen your joy, killed you, and now about to destroy you. If it was something I could do for you, I would have, but no, I can’t, because He has done everything possible already. It’s left to you”

  I whimpered and screamed more as the thunder struck, accompanied with lightening.
  
  I am dead.

“Uhh” Ken said 

“The operation should be almost done, right?” he asked

“It’s been hourssss” Tessie said, emphasizing the ‘hours’ part

“You guys don’t know anything o” Nancy replied 

“Anyway, it should soon be over”

“Thank God it’s ours” Brent said

“Yeah, thank God” everyone answered.
  
Just at that moment, the door opened. All eyes turned towards the direction and all stood.
  
A nurse ran out of the operation room.

“Nurse, nurse” they all called but she spared them not even a glance.

“Something is definitely wrong” Victoria said

“But what could be wrong?” Nancy muttered under her breath “They should have got over the worst”

“Lord, have mercy” Kennie said

  The nurse passed again, carrying a small container in her hands.

“Nurse Funmi” Nancy called and ran to her.
  
The nurse looked pale while she stared at Nancy with bulging eyeballs

“What is it? You have to tell me” Nancy said, holding her hand tightly “I won’t let you go till you do”
She looked at the container. 

“Blood?” the nurse didn’t reply so Nancy pulled her aside roughly

“Something has happened” the nurse said 

“Yes, what?”

“We fixed the skull and drained the blood. We were already happy we got over the worst speedily when suddenly…” she hesitated

“Suddenly what?” Nancy asked with an intense look in her eyes.

“Haemorrhage” the nurse said and Nancy lost her hold while the nurse left speedily to the theatre.
