Jake:

After the teenage girl run off, i decide to man up and face the music

in andrew's office. I can't believe Sarah is angry at me again. It's

like we are just destined to not get along. I shouldn't be wasting my

time apologizing when am not at fault but i just can't stand that look

on sarah's face earlier. A look of disappointment. I have disappointed

a lot of people but this is the first time i've cared in a long time.

I knock on what i assume to be andrew's office and the door is opened

for me. Sarah is standing in a corner of the office and i notice that

she is shivering. I totally forgot about our wet clothes. Sarah's

hands are crossed across her chest and i realise that her shirt is

probably transparent. I take off my jean jacket and slip it on sarah's

shoulders. She murmur her thanks then slip her hands into the jacket.

"Andrew, am sorry about the fuss caused by the press because of me but

i think you should give us an off today. I dont think Sarah is in a

position to work today" i say and Andrew nod.

"You are right. The both of you just need to sign these papers stating

that you will work here for a month." Andrew hand us some papers and we

sign them.

"Can we leave now?" i ask

"one more thing, we have an annual event next weekend and you will

meet the owner of this establishment then. I may not be here after

that." Andrew says and i can't help the smile that touches me lips.

"Well, that's good then. Sarah, come on" i extend my hand to Sarah but

she just ignore it.

"Thank you Andrew" Sarah say then walk out without looking at me.

"Sarah wait!" i yell after her but she doesn't stop. I only catch up

with her when she stops to open the gate.

"Hey" i say then grab her hands which are icily cold.

"My God, Sarah, your hands are freezing" I say but she pull her hands

away and hide it behind her. I place my head on her forehead to feel

her temperature and she is burning up.

"Sarah you are so hot. I think you need a doctor." i say

"Am fine. Just cold. Take me home please" she says weakly and i curse

myself for putting her in this situation. I quickly hail a cab which

takes us home within ten minutes.

"Come on, Sarah we are home" i say and she open her eyes wearily. She

tries to stand with no success and i throw all caution to the wind as

i carry her out of the cab and into the house bridal style.

No one seems to be home. I carry Sarah upstairs to her room and

deposit her on her bed.

"Are you sure we shouldnt go to the hospital?" I ask and she shake her head.

"I hate hospitals. I just need warmth" she whisper. She is getting pale

and i am starting to panic. What do i do now? Get rid of the wet

clothes!

"okay Sarah. Are you Strong enough to go change in the bathroom?" i ask

but there is no answer.

"Sarah?"

"colllld" i guess i have to take her clothes off for her.

"Am going to take them off for you okay?" I say then grab her skirt to

take it off but she grab my hands.

"Turn the lights off" she says and i smile.I quickly turn off the light

then close the curtains  and the room is covered in total darkness. I

go back to Sarah on the bed and finish my task of undressing her. I

get my sweatshirt and jean trousers from my room and some blankets

which i cover her with after getting her into the sweatshirt and jean

trousers. Her hands are getting warm and i breathe a sigh of relief.

"I'm going to get you something to eat okay?" I whisper to her before i

turn to leave but she grab my hand.

"Stay, please. You are warm" she says and I sit back on the side of the bed.

"Lie with me. You are warm" she says again. I know its just the fever

talking but who am i to defy my sick sister. I slip under the blankets

then wrap my arms around her.

"Feels good" she groan then snuggled closer to me.

"Am sorry Sarah" i say before her eyes droop close again.

"Sarah are you in? We are going to be late for our movie date" I hear

my mom call from downstairs and i jump off sarah's bed.

"Umm mom, Sarah isn't feeling well" I say and the door fly open.

"Jake? What are you doing in here?" my mom ask and i scratch my neck nervously.

"Sarah got drenched by the rain so i was taking care of her" i say. My

mom move to the bed then feel sarah's temperature.

"she seems fine"

"That's how good i am as a nurse" I say to lighten the mood and she laugh.

"There is food downstairs so help her bring it upstairs. I'll be in my

room packing. We leave in three hours."

"Ok mom."

"Will you guys be okay here?" she ask and i nod.

"Alright. Just dont forget she is going to be your sister very

soon" she says and i raise my hands up in an 'i am innocent' gesture

and she shake her head at me.

"Bye son. Tell Sarah goodbye for me when she wakes up okay?"

"Yes mom. Goodbye"

Sarah:

"So niice" i groan as i stretch satisfactorily. I snuggle into the

mattress which smells amazingly different today. It smells so much

like Jake. Wait Jake! I shoot out of bed and scan my room. I notice my

clothes folded neatly on my bedside table.

"lie with me, you are warm" i remember telling Jake yesterday. Bloody

hell! I look inside the loads of blankets and realise that am wearing

a sweatshirt and trousers. Did i change last night?

'Am going to take them off for you okay?'. No no no no no. How am i

going to face him? I check my phone and notice that its some minutes

past 9am. Oh no, am late again. I quickly undress and fold jake's

clothes but not before i sniff it one last time because I am only

human people. I wrap my towel around my chest then open my door

slightly to survey the surroundings. Jake is no where in sight so I

rush into the bathroom to take my bath. Hopefully, he went to work

without me and i wouldn't have to face him for now.

Dressing up doesn't take long and am done before 9:30. I quickly go

downstairs to get breakfast. The kitchen is quiet and that's when i

remember that my dad was supposed to leave last night. So now am home

alone with Jake for a whole month. Yikes!

I make myself coffee to wake me up and am in the process of Downing

my second cup when i hear thumping sounds. It sounds like its coming

from the room behind the kitchen. I walk tentatively to the room and

nothing could have prepared me for the level of hotness i encounter.

Jake is shirtless while punching the hell out of a punching bag. Sweat

is dripping down his back as the strength of his blows make his back

muscle ripple. If i was the drooling type, i would be drooling right

about now. He doesn't seem to notice me as i ogle him.

"So, i talked to Andrew about you being sick and now we have the day

off" Jake says and i realise that he already knew i was there. He turn

to me with a big grin.

"It's impolite to stare open mouthed Sarah" he continues and i close my mouth.

"Good girl. How are you doing?" he asks then walks to me to feel my

head. I just stand stock still. Please, where is my voice?. The coward

must have ran away so i just nod instead.

"Your temperature is back to normal. You really scared me last night

when you were mumbling about all sorts of things" he says and i blush.

Please ground open and swallow me.

"I dont remember anything but i hope i didn't do anything hazardous.

If i did, then am sorry" I say when i finally find my voice.

"Its fine. I actually loved everything you said last night. By the

way, I need your help with something"

"What?"

"I actually missed a date with a special someone last night because of

you so i want you to help me win her back. I dont know what to get her

and i figured you would, being a girl like her" the thought of helping

Jake win another girl's heart is heart numbing but i cover it up with

a smile.

"Sure, I'll help you." I say

"Okay, let me go get ready. I'll be back in a jiffy"
