Jake's father pov:

"little Hannah, when am i getting my money?" I ask into the phone.

"Where do you think i can find 9million naira on the go?" She ask and i

can detect irritation in her voice.

"Isn't that the reason you got hooked up with that rockstar? Your mom

is a drug addict who kept borrowing from me while Your brother owes me

6 million as gambling debt" I grind out.

"He's your son. Can't you just write off his debt?" She ask

"I dont care if he's my son or not. You better get the money from that

Jake guy or i help you!" I say and end the call.

Her full family are just freeloaders. They should be grateful to me

for picking the mother from the slums and cleaning her up when she was

pregnant with Hannah. I only got to prostitute her for only a few

months before the woman got pregnant with my child. As if that wasn't

enough, she got hooked on drugs. I had to cut my loses and let her go

but i had my eyes on the daughter. Even if she wasn't my daughter, she

seemed wise so i got her stupid brother and mother indebted to me so i

could control her. Hannah always tries to clean up their mess.

I was going to use her for prostitution too but when she started

dating Jake, i saw that as my opportunity to get money from him. After

His mother, Margaret found out about amelia and the fact that i was

using the teenage girl who is also my niece for prostitution, she

divorced me and threatened to report me if i ever come close to her or

our children ever again. I have stayed away ever since and built my

prostitution empire so far that even outside the country, my girls are

known but i have never been satisfied because i couldn't get my hands

on jake's money. I trained him for eight years before i got kicked out

so i deserve compensation right? Hannah never suspected that Jake was

my son and i didn't tell her. Now a year later, there is still no

money coming my way. I have had enough!

I pick the telephone on my desk and dial my P.A

"I want you to kidnap Hannah and her brother. Bring the both of them

to the empty ware house i just bought. Do you understand?" I say as

soon as the call goes through.

"yes boss" is his answer before he ends the call.

an hour later

"So you think you can defy me just because you are now famous right?" i

ask Hannah who is tied to the chair in front of me. Her brother is

currently whimpering like a little girl beside her.

"I told you I'll get the money. Just let us go please" Hannah plead but

i just laugh a bitter laugh.

"you think am a fool little girl? No worries, i already arranged

everything to help you get my money from your boyfriend. He is

probably on his way here by now. Your brother here will be the

kidnapper he will meet. Make sure you act well so i can get my money

and your brother will be free from me. Do you understand?"

"no! Please no. I'll get it another way. What if things go south and

my brother gets arrested?"

"that's his problem not mine. Now, if you try anything stupid, your

mother dies. Give the mask to him and put a gun in that coward's

hands." I say to my P.A and start walking away.

"You are a monster! You have no conscience!" Hannah yell but i just

smile because her words are spot on. Am a monster and i lost my

conscience from the time i started forcing my little niece into

prostitution. Well not my niece per say because she was adopted but

who cares?

present day

Jake:

"Dad?!" This is unbelievable. My father who disappeared almost twenty

years ago is here in front of me. Its been a long while but i never

forget a face. What is he doing with Hannah?

"Hannah, what are you doing with my father?"

"Your father?" She ask and her eyes go so wide i fear that they are

going to fall off their sockets.

"Oh my god" she say before she slump. I catch her before she reaches

the ground then look to my father with confusion. I dont know if all i

heard them say was just a dream. Could it be that my father is really

involved in her kidnap? But why? My head is spinning so fast.

"Dad what's going on?"

"What are you talking about kid? I am not your dad" he says then storm

off. The only way i can get answers is through Hannah. I quick call

for an ambulance.

"Oh thank God you are awake" we are in the back of an ambulance on our

way to the hospital when Hannah blink her eyes open. She sit up on the

stretcher than drag her knees up to her chest.

"i am sorry Jake" she says as tears rush down her face.

"what are you sorry for?"

"For not telling you about the baby. I didn't want you to take daisy

away from me since you were so angry at me" she sob and i sigh wearily.

"but i had the right to know. She is my father just like that man is

my father and i have the right to know what the both of you were doing

there? Were you following me?" i ask and she shake her head.

"My brother is buried there too. Seeing you made me think about how he

died because of a horrible man so-" she say before i cut her off.

"are you calling brother a horrible man? Your brother is-"

"no, not your brother. My brother's father. That man you said is your

father. He planned my kidnapping and set my brother up to get money

from you. I swear i didn't know he was also your father Jake" she try

to touch me but i move away from her touch.

"Wait. Are you trying to say we are siblings?" I ask astounded.

"No. You and my brother are."

"this isn't making any sense. Why would my father kidnap you?"

"My family owed him 9million naira so he did that to get the money

from you. Am sorry. I wanted to tell you but he threatened my mom's

life"

"That's not an excuse! Hell, i feel like i have been lied to my entire

life!" I bark at her and she flinch. My phone alert me of an incoming

message and i click on it to try and distract myself before i strangle

Hannah.

Nurse- daisy  Is awake now.

"Oh thank you God" i whisper to the heavens

"what is it?" Hannah ask me

"daisy is awake. The operation must have been successful"

The ambulance drop us off at the hospital daisy is admitted in and we

rush to her room.

"Shhh. She just fell asleep again." Hannah's mom chastise us then walk

out of the room probably to give us privacy. I walk numbly over to my

daughter and clutch her little hand in my hands.

"Daddy is here now. You won't have to go through all this again" i say

silently as a little tear fall off my eye. I hear Hannah sobbing

behind me and i turn to her.

"Our little girl didn't die Jake" she says then envelop me in a hug. I

just stand stiffly as she cry on my shoulder.

Sarah:

Jake didn't come home last night and i was too sick to look for him.

My headache became worse soon after Jake left so this morning, i took

permission from Andrew to go to the hospital. I explained my symptoms

to the doctor and he carried out some test. The results of the test

aren't out yet and my ancxiousness about jake's whereabouts prevent me

from sitting in one place so i wander around the hospital. Where could

Jake have gone? I dont even have his number to call him. What if he

went out to buy something and got into an accident? No, he probably

went out with that girl that kissed him at the engagement party. My

wandering take me to the children's ward and that's when i hear

sobbing coming from a room. My curiosity get the best of me and i peep

into the room to see Jake in another woman's arms and my heart skip

several beats.
