Dysfunctional - Episode 24

 

Sommy's POV

I walked towards Bosco and Joseph, my lips curved into a grin.
"What did you do?" He asked and i smiled. "She's definitely single and ready to mingle." I answered laughing. 
"Come on, she likes you" I blurted out and he turned over to her. "She does?" "She's in need of a company"
"I can't"
"Don't be such a wimp, go!"
"What would I talk on, where would I start?" "It's her birthday, you can start with, happy birthday" I answered and he sighed rising up from the sand . "I can't believe you're making me do this" he grunted walking away then I called him back.
 "Take some money along with you. Bosco give him something"
"Not in public" he whispered turning back to the girl and Bosco stretched some money at him. Joseph almost died of embarrassment. "For parenting sake, don't ever give your kids money especially when he's in front of a girl" he advised collecting the money. 
"Thanks" he answered in between his teeth then walked away. 
Bosco and I busted into laughter as he walked away. "That was embarrassing" I confessed, "And funny" he added

. "I've gone through it before but he just can't meet a girl without cash"
"I'm sorry for the bruised forehead" he added and I touched it, I never knew it was bruised. Suddenly it began to hurt again. "I got bruised?"
"A bit... Not exactly like a bruise, it shows" "T hanks for the update Mister! It's beginning to hurt again." "I really didn't envisage this day going wrong. I wanted everything to go well"
"Joseph just found a date, he's opening up and that's a start" "The way you guys spoke, we've never spoken that way" "That's cause you guys need to learn communication skills. You have to know when to hit it" I picked up a milk shake drinking from the straw. 
"He's for real, he's not faking who he is. He's just withdrawing and this is a psychologist opinion, he doesn't want to put much hope on you or be too close to you because he's scared you might leave"
"I'll never leave him"
"He doesn't know that. He's used to disappointments so..he doesn't want to hope on you. He doesn't trust you yet" "I want him to trust me" "He will, once he gets comfortable with the environment, he'll trust you. Would he be staying for a while? I could use his company and a little session with him" I asked and he shrugged. 
"I don't know. I haven't had that talk with him yet. I got him a job yesterday. I haven't said anything to him yet" "Talk to him" I advised and he nodded with a faint smile. Then I turned towards Joseph. He was laughing with the girl.
"He's happy" I heard him say then I smiled.
"Pre-wedding pictures?"  Another man with a camera asked, "No" Bosco answered, "What's it with this people?" He asked and I laughed.  "We're not a couple" I answered and the man walked away. 
A lady walked towards us raising her hands as though to get our attention. "Excuse me Sir" she said, "What? Is anything the matter?" Bosco asked and she shook her head. "You're Barrister John Bosco Bishop right?"
"Yeah"
"My Boss" she pointed at a man, "I'm Mr. Lekan Lawal's P.A, Sir he asked me to call you; he would love to talk to you" she added and i saw him roll his eyes.
 "Who is he?" I asked, "A one time client" he answered. "I'll be back in a giffy" he added then left with the girl. 
As I drank my milk shake quietly, a man walked up to me. "Hello pretty, I couldn't just help but notice your presence" he began with and i almost hissed. It been a while since I heard such lines. Oga, what year do you think we're in, 2002? 
"Thanks" I said trying to be nice.
"Wanna grab a drink with me?" He asked. I noticed the ibo accent.
Is this guy blind or plain stupid? What do I have in my hands, tea? I sighed trying to control my anger which was already wearing thin. 
"Baby, you're not answering me nah"
"What do you expect me to say?" "Any answer nah"
"My fiance just left right now, i won't want him seeing you here"
"Abeg who you wan lie for? Do you think I'll fall for that? Where's the ring?"
I looked over at my fingers. "We left it at home because of the salt water" 
"Iffa hear. The photographer that just talked to you said you're single"
"Oga is it that the English I'm speaking Is too big for you? I said I have a fiance" I answered then I began ranting in ibo. 
"What going on here?" I heard Bosco ask, "Sweetheart it's this mad man oh. Just when you left he came and started making advances at me so I told him I have a fiance. He doesn't want to accept it"
"Oga na true?" He asked and Bosco agreed wrapping his hands around my waist. "We're dating" "Lies, for how long?" He asked, "two years" "One year" Bosco and I answered consecutively.
"See lie lie,"
"Today makes it two years anniversary of being best friends and we're also celebrating our first year of dating" I turned to him looking into his eyes.
 "We kissed on our friendship anniversary" I lied placing my hands on his chest.
"I still don't believe," "Is it until I kiss him that you'll believe?" I asked and he agreed. I actually didn't mean it. 
"That'll be crazy" Bosco whispered to me, "We kiss all the time honey, don't be shy, let's give this man a show" I answered bringing my lips close to him.
My heart pounded hard. I'll be fulfilling my fantasy all in one day. My lips pressed against his and we kissed. He had the softest lips I've ever kissed. I felt surges of electricity pass through my nerves. My legs felt weak as his hands wrapped around my waist. 
What was meant to be a few seconds kiss got more intense. It was more than a little kiss. We would probably still be at it if the man didn't stop us. 
"It's okay oh, i don believe una" he shouted and we kissed some seconds more. I sucked on his lower lip then pulled back. 
God i didn't want to break it off. I just scratched Joshua off my best kiss list. "Your babe fine Sha" he added and I placed my hands on his belly.
 "He's a lucky man" I answered and he faked a smile at him. "Hold her tight oh, she loyal die, i tell you" he added then left. 
I turned towards him biting my lip. "I'm sorry about that, I didn't want to look lonely or appear as though I was single"
"Sommy I just kissed you and it was...." He paused. "I know I've always been a good kisser but you... I'm shocked"
"Shut up" he snapped then chuckled a bit. 
"You weren't bad at all" I commented and he chuckled. "What do you expect, not like I have a choice. It's the only thing I've been doing for a long time"
 "You don't have to feel bad about it, we'll just act like nothing happened" I proposed and he agreed.

Bosco's POV
 Sommy seemed angry with me because I didn't want to take a damn selfie with her. I've never liked taking pictures. I watched her walk romantically with Joseph then they sat on the beach sand.
 I decided to get milk shake as peace offering. She said she didn't want it but she collected it anyway and also volunteered to take Joseph's own after he rejected it.
"Joseph" I heard her call out, "What?" He asked and she gave him a look i knew so well when she has something crazy in mind.
 "You should be scared, that's her mischievous look" i warned, she asked Joseph what he thought of a girl sitting by the bar stand. 
"She's pretty, really pretty and definitely off my league"
"She has been staring at you". Joseph said it was impossible so Sommy decided to prove  him wrong. How crazy can she be?.
"Let's find out then" she said rising up.
 "What are you doing?" Joseph and i asked and she walked over to where the girl sat. 
"Is she doing what I think she is?" Joseph asked and i nodded. 
"Jesus! Who does that?"
"The most craziest psychologist In Lagos, Dr. Sommy Kalu. She's capable of doing anything"
Joseph bowed in shame. "I need to escape" he said to me then we saw her walk back towards us after a while then she suceeded in persuading him to meet her.
We were left alone for the first time that day and it felt good. I wanted a chance to be alone with her and talk where no one would listen to us speak. 
Suddenly I noticed a little bruised part on her forehead. I didn't really how serious she dashed her head until that moment. I felt awful, so I apologized.
We haven't spoken for too long when i got interrupted by the P.A of a client whose case I won. 
Just when I needed a lone time with Sommy something else came up. I rolled my eyes then followed her to where Mr. Lekan Lawal was. 
"Barrister, longest time" he began, stretching his hands at me and I shook it. "Good morning Sir" I greeted and he chuckled. "Sit down" he gestured and I refused politely. 
"I'm sorry Sir, I came with someone" I answered turning towards Sommy who was now talking to a man. 
I noticed she got all angry with the man so i rushed over to find out what had happened.
"What's going on here?" I asked, "Sweetheart it's this mad man oh. Just when you left he came and started making advances at me so I told him I have a fiance. He doesn't want to accept it". I paused in shock then turned over to the man.
"Oga na true?" He asked and I agreed wrapping my hands around her waist hoping he would leave but he didn't.
 "We're dating" 
"Lies, for how long?" He asked, "two years" "One year" Sommy and I answered sequentially.
"See lie lie,"

I wondered how she came up with the lies.
"I still don't believe," "Is it until I kiss him that you'll believe?" She snapped and he agreed. 
"That'll be crazy" i whispered to her, "We kiss all the time honey, don't be shy, let's give this man a show" She replied kissing me on the lips. 
I've severally fantasize  kissing her. I just fulfilled one of my fantasies.
For a minute there, I forgot I had a girlfriend as we deepened the kiss. I didn't want to stop cause it felt so damn right. 
"Its okay oh, I don believe una" the man gave up and Sommy suckled on my lower lip. 
Damn! that felt hot. 
 "I'm sorry about that, I didn't want to look lonely or appear as though I was single" she apologized.
"Sommy I just kissed you and it was...." He paused. "I know I've always been a good kisser but you... I'm shocked" 
"Shut up" he snapped then chucked a bit. "That wasn't what I meant" I added, I couldn't even criticise her.
"You weren't bad at all" She commented and i chuckled. 
"What did you expect? Not like I have a choice.

. It's the only thing I been doing for a long time" "You don't have to feel bad about it, we'll just act like nothing happened" she proposed and I agreed; not like I didn't like it too. 
"Let's take a dive" she suggested and I shook my head. "I came here with you to the beach, that's more than enough"
"Come on!" She dragged my hands. "I know you literally do not have balls but I need you to grow one right now" she teased my inability to have sex.
She hasn't done that in a while. "Stop being a chicken, the water will not bite" she whispered into my ears then she pulled me to the water.
The waves of the water splash against our legs as we walked the surface and I sighed in fear. Ever since I got drowned in a swimming pool during a swimming lesson, I've been scared of plenty water, pool water, river, ocean, and the likes.
"Can we get out now?" I asked and she held both my hands. "It's gonna be okay" she promised, "I don't know about that" I replied then noticed a violent wave coming.
"Let's get out now"
"Wait" she paused looking at the waves as it came towards us. The waves crashed against us and I held Sommy tightly so she doesn't fall. Suddenly my fears didn't matter any longer. All i cared about was weirdly protectiong Sommy from the waves. 
Sommy fell down and I fell on her and the waves poured backwards and she coughed then laughed mockingly.
"You should have seen your face, you were so scared"
"I was scared you would fall"
"I wouldn't, it's not my first time doing this" she explained and I sighed. "Why did you fall then?"  I asked and she chuckled.
"Were you really scared?" She asked and i nodded, "Are you okay?" I was concerned about the fall and she nodded biting her lips.
I couldn't help myself, I felt so drawn to her lips. I couldn't keep my lips off as much as I tried to.
We kissed again.
