Brothers - Episode 12

"So I'm guessing you've packed all your lingerie and all, you sure not gonna let Jessica best you in this" Sandra said over the phone, it was the day before they were to take the road trip to Calabar

Isabel laughed"you really not serz..we in no competition "

"Well I'm just saying you should have all the fun in the world, possibly meet a richer and hotter guy"

Isabel laughed out"you will not kill me Sandra, why would I want to do that when I have Richard "

" What makes you think he's not going there to find a chick"

"Well whatever babe, it won't be that bad, this like a prehoneymoon, to rekindle our love spark"

And she believed it telling herself that it was because of Richards neglect and mistreatment of her that was why she cheated on him with his brother,  this trip would make them see each other again and rediscover why they fell in love in the first place.

Yeah, she hoped to believe that.

​​​​​​"I'm so happy you guys finally settled your differences and let bygone be bygone "Mrs Wallace said, it was the day of departure and they had all decided to converge at the family house

" sure thing mom, I'm glad too"Richard said leaning away from the counter after meeting his brothers gaze

"And spending time together too, that's wow"Rebecca Wallace continued

"Can I come please, I've never been to Cal"Jemima nagged palms together in a plea, She was back on midterm break and Raymond had missed her drama, he chuckled now

" You wana be a third wheel"he said turning away

"Who said, I can easily bring my Boyf....."

Richard looked at her"you have a boyfriend? "

"What no, I mean, Isaac d love to come"

"You better not let me lay my hands on him"Richard said

"No what..I mean, he's not .. Hey Issy.." Jamima ran to hug her, she walked into the kitchen and took in the scene

"What's going on?"

"Jamima.." Richard began

"I was just saying how I'd love to come with you guys"she broke in

Isabel chuckled and went to drop the basket of fruits she brought for Mrs Wallace, after kissing her and engaging in small talk she turned to face her audience

"Who said you can't come?"

"Me, she's spoiled and would only constitute a nuisance"Richard said 

" no id totally be on my best behaviour"she said but Richard was walking away to make sure the car was loaded

" That's mean Richard, I'm a good girl"she continued then looked at Raymond for confirmation but he was busy holding gazes with Isabel

"Uh..where's Aunt Jessi.."

"She's on her way"Raymond murmured 

"Probably running late from too much luggage" Mrs Wallace said knowing the two girls, Isabel laughed and there was silence as Raymond then made his way upstairs mumbling about forgetting something...He got to his room and did a double check on everything, before the door was knocked on, he turned expecting Isabel but  it was only Jamima

"What do you want..?"he asked turning back around

" just making sure you're okay, without your girlfriend around, you sure you got everything, Issy is helping Richard check"

Raymond was silent "Yea, I do"

Jamima sat on the bed"I'm gonna miss you guys, now am not supposed to say that"

"It's just two weeks and we'll be back" he wasn't looking forward to it, Jamima sat up

"You like her don't you.."

"Who?.."

"Isabel..the way you look at her is different from the way you look at Jessica"

"What nonsense are you talking from your month"

"We used to be BFFs Raymond, I know you like Isabel"

"Don't let Richard hear the rubbish you just said"he said and Jamima sighed then laid back on the bed spread-eagled

"So what are you bringing back for me?"

Jessica finally arrived, like mrs Wallace had predicted, she came packed full of luggage, she claimed to be putting finishing touches to the arrangement, he thought that had been done a long time ago but silently they the jeep loaded and got in 

"Ready for the road trip guys?"Jessica asked" I'm so excited"

"Me too, sadly" Isabel said, she didn't know if she was excited or scared of what might happen during this trip

"We could have easily taken a flight"Raymond murmured

" And spoil the fun, no way"Jessica said, the waved the duo bye as the car moved away, Raymond had started the driving hoping to exchange with Richard midway as had been earlier planned, he wanted to believe him and his brother were now friends but knew he had to be on his guard during the trip, being  watchful and observant for clues of what Richard might be up to..

. he met Isabel's gaze in the mirror  and sighed, that was a complication he needed to address,  hoping him and his brother didn't resort to blows.

*so the much awaited trip had begun, four of them in one suite..who can predict the future happenings?
