Eve's POV
I was seated by the bar at Ramose club, a little wasted waiting for Mason.

I was at stuck between chaotic thoughts not sure of what to believe anymore.

"Eve Raine Minni I promise to love you and cherish you. You be by your side through good times and bad times till death do us part...."

Is Nicholas really cheating on me??? When he told me there is no woman who will ever make him happy like I do I saw sincerity in his eyes.

Did he get bored????Don't I amuse him anymore???Is this about me not able to fulfill his dream of being a father.

I thought he understood. I thought he knew it isn't my fault . Is the girl who called last night, my replacement.

I don't wanna lose him. God what do I do???
What if she is pregnant???That gives her more privilege to be in his life than me.

I am a useless wife who can't even just do a simple task,have a baby. 

But really can I blame him??i am rarely around, I can't cook, I can't make him a father and I am always nagging me.

No,stop having those thoughts Eve,Nicholas is your husband.You have to fight for your marriage and him.

What if he has already moved on from this marriage???Maybe that's why yesterday he couldn't make love to me. 

Is my husband slipping away???Will I be able to handle it if he left me????Just thinking about it felt like I was been stuck with a million swords at the same time.

Ooooh God, let all this just be a bad dream....

I rubbed the sidelines of my head feeling emotionally drained because of too much thinking... 

"Fight the bad thoughts Eve, you promised Nicholas never to do it again....." I tried calming myself down but in vain.

"How is the most beautiful girl in the whole world doing????"
A familiar deep,sexy voice behind me dragged me from the torturing thoughts.

"Mason!!!!" I turned around, stood from the bar stool and hugged him,"It's so good to see you..."
"Me too Ivie...."

In the past,just a mere smile from him would have erupted goosebumps from my skin but right I am just happy to see him.

"Can I get a glass of straight whisky and another glass of wine for my best friend????" Mason requested the waiter as we sat down.
"So how have you been Ivie????" He beamed.

"Here you go...." The waiter placed the drinks Infront of us...

"I have been better Mason....." I sulked.

"What did Nick do????" Mason raised his eyebrows at me.

" I think he is having an affair...." I could feel those words leave a bitter taste in  my mouth.

"Are you sure Ivie????That guy loves you more than life itself...."

"Maybe he got tired of being with this useless woman who can't cook, can't have babies,can't......."
"Don't ever call yourself useless Ivie...." Mason placed his finger on my lips.

"You are an amazing woman. You are kind,generous, supportive and you always see the good in people..." If he only knew how much those words boosted my morale...

"Why did we break up Mason????"I asked the moment he dropped his finger from my lips.

He shifted on his stool uncomfortably before replying,"I was a bad boyfriend Ivie and there is no day that goes by that I don't regret hurting you..."

"You were just going through a hard time..." I pointed out dryly.
"But that wasn't enough reason to push you away and cheat on your face..." I could feel the rawness of pain in his voice.

"I guess I am fated to get hurt...." I could feel tears burning my eyes.

"There is no day I don't regret that day, you were the best thing that had ever happened to me and I was stupid to let that go...." 

"But why though????Why did you cheat on me with Tessa????" Finally I got to ask the question that has been haunting me for the past seven years....

He gulped down the remaining whisky in his glass and sighed,"I felt like I didn't deserve you

. I was drowning in my depression and addiction that I felt unworthy to be your boyfriend. And for a moment I thought cheating on you will make you hate me and you would leave...." His voice was so rough that I almost didn't recognize it..
"Which I did..."

"Yeah....But I can't believe you forgave me and stood by me when you didn't have to...." 
"I loved you Mason Marcias. And when you love someone, you stand with them no matter what..."

"Thank you...." He said in a low whisper.
"Anytime....." I intertwined our fingers and smiled at him.

Mason Marcias and I have been friends since we were born. Our mothers are bestfriends and that made us automatic friends. 

We went to the same school from Kindergaten to Highschool but separated when he went to Glasgow school of Art in London and I had to remain behind to study in Kenya since my mom wouldn't fathom the thought of me being far from her.

We began dating in our second year in Highschool after Jordan Marcias,Mason's older brother made us realize what we have always felt for each other.

I always thought Mason was the one. He was good for me. He made me happy. He filled the empty void I had since like forever. I had already pictured us having an beautiful family together in the future until he cheated on me with Tessa, my cousin.

Mason was always a good guy, the guy every girl wishes to date until he fucked everything up.

He became an addict and when he realized how fucked up his life was,he slipped into depression.

Even though I was hurt and angry at him, I stood by him. Because when you love someone, you never want to see them in pain. Or maybe I wasn't ready to let go. The thought of someone leaving me never sits well with me.

Actually at first I was hesitant to date Nicholas Kame because I wasn't ready to move on and forget Mason until he came home from London with a degree,a wife and a daughter. That's when reality hit me that it was really over. Reality is harder than denial.

Damn!!!!He broke me for the second time and this time my reaction was way worse.

Finally when I fall for Nicholas and love him more than life itself,history begins to repeat itself. I hope this time I can fight the urge to do it...

"What are you thinking about???!" Mason dragged me from my thoughts.

"How our mothers would have been happy if we got married????" I shook my head in embrassment remembering the nights my mom would give me tips on how to push Mason into proposing.

"Do you know my mom actually bought me a ring and told me to propose to you after Highschool????"Mason chuckled.
"Explains the tips and advices my mom used to give me to push you into proposing..." 

"And I wish I had listened to my mom..." Mason confessed, ordering his fifth glass of whisky.
"If you hadn't come back from London already married,things would have been different...." I downed the remaining wine in my glass and pushed the glass to the waiter for more...

"If it makes you feel better Ivie, I am not happy. Chloe doesn't make me happy...."  

"It doesn't make me happy Mason,"I stated honestly and turned my body to face him,"Nick makes me happy and I don't want to lose him."

"Okay..."He muttered against his glass...

There was this awkward silence between us for a while before I held his hand and dragged him to the dance floor.
"We might have sucked as a couple but we rock as friends..."

"I think I am still a better dancer than you Ivie..."He beamed.
"Only one way to find out...." I screamed over the deafening music.

We danced as if there was a prize at the end of it  all and with all honesty Mason was still a better dancer than me. 

"Damn!!!!I think I broke a bone...."Mason panted as we returned to our bar stools when we couldn't dance no more.
"It's not fair that you are still a better dancer than I am..." I said in a childish tone.

"It's a high time you accept it Ivie....Shall we have more drinks????"

"The night is still young...." 

****Four glasses of wine and six glasses of whisky later****

"I don't know what to do to make Chloe happy. She is always complaining of how horrible of a husband I am...." Mason stated.

"Some people just can't be pleased. You are an amazing man Mason and if she doesn't see that screw her..."

"If Nick divorces you right now and I divorce Chloe,can you marry me????"

"Honestly I don't know...."

I think I better go home before I start saying or doing things I would regret in the morning....My mental stability is below equilibrium.

"I think I should get going...." 

"You just said the night is still young...." He cried out.
"I don't wanna go home Ivie. I am not happy..."He slammed his hand on the counter that I flinched.
"You can go at your godmother's house...She would be more than happy to host you..."

"Can you hug me so tight????" 

"Sure...."I opened my arms to him.
"Thank you..."He stood from his stool and wrapped his arms around me,holding me close.

"If I would go back in time, I would choose you again and again..."He brushed his lips onto my ear.

"Eve let go!!!!You are hurting Eve, you are not thinking straight. Pull back!!!"

My subconscious yelled but I didn't wanna let go. The hug felt peaceful and at home.

"I am sorry I cheated on you with Tessa and married Chloe."

"Too bad we are both married now.Nothing much we can do..."

"My feelings for you haven't changed Ivie," He pulled me back and rested his forehead on mine,"Let's run away..."

"You are crazy Mason..." I chuckled.

"I am glad we are bestfriends but it hurts that I admire you from afar. I am ready to lose everything for you Ivie...."

I wanted to walk away from there but I couldn't.

. I loved my husband but tonight I felt hurt,needy and desperate.

And Mason just knew the right words to tell me.

"Mason I......."

He covered my mouth and kissed me hungrily cutting me off. It would have been wise if I pulled back but I didn't...

I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss...

After kissing for what felt like eternity,we pulled apart to catch our breaths.

Shit!!!!
"What have I done????" I cried out and stood from the barstool only to fall on the strikingly attractive Mason Marcias. My first love.

"You don't have anything to regret Ivie...."

"We are both married and we have just kissed in a club showing off our disgusting behaviour..." I cussed out...

"But you enjoyed the kiss!!!" He flashed me a naughty smile.

Of course dummy, I am sexually starved.

"No, it was a mistake. I need to go home...."

I tried to pull back from Mason only for him to tighten his grip around my waist,"I will drive you home...."

"But...."
"You can't drive in this state Ivie. I will drive you home, I am not that drunk anyway..."

"Okay...."

"For the record, I don't regret what has happened between us..." He smiled evilly and carried me into his arms.

"You know I can walk...." I rolled my eyes at him.
"I know,I just want to carry you..."

After Mason dropped me at home, I staggered into the house and found Nicholas pacing around the living room angrily.

"Did your mistress dump you???" Those words slipped my mouth before I could hold them back.

"Where have you been Eve???And why did you send your driver home????" He shook me vigorously by the shoulders.

"I want to sleep..." I hiccuped.

"I have been so worried Eve."

"I was out having fun..." I yawned.

"Who were you drinking with????" He yelled in a tone that scared me.

"Leave me alone Nick. It's my life and I don't owe you any explanation..." 

"The last time I checked your name was Eve Raine Minnie Kame..." He said between clenched teeth.

"And the last time I checked you were a cheat and a jerk...." 

I tried wiggling my shoulders from his grip but he held me firm.

"Don't create ideas from just a simple phone call...."

I could feel fury blanketing me. A simple call,he says. Unbelievable man.

"I don't want to argue with you. If you feel you wanna drop your pants at any skirt you see, then feel free..."I said harshly.

Blowing out a heavy breath,his shoulders sagged in defeat.
"It's not what you think...."

"Its not what I think,"I curled my nose like I was disgusted.

"Yes, you got everything all wrong...."

"All I know is Nicholas Kame got tired of his useless wife not be able to give him a baby and he saw it fit to rub it on her face...."I sobbed.

"How could you think that????"He grabbed my face with both his hands and forced me closer,pulling us inches apart.

"It's the truth...."

"I have never even once thought about cheating on you..." He briskly wiped the tears from my eyes,looking calmer than before.

"What about that call???That girl wanted to talk to you and she even knew my name..."

My chest felt tight just thinking how she came to know my name.

"Let's go talk in our room and I will explain...."

"I am not sleeping in the same room with a cheat." 

I dropped his hands from my face and turned to walk away when I was thrown over his shoulder and carried to our room.

"Nicholas Kame put me down!!!!"I slapped his back in rage but he didn't care.

When we got to the room, he gently placed me on the bed and pulled the heels  off my feet.

"I don't wanna sleep next to a cheat...." 

I tried to lift my body from the bed only to be pinned down,my hands above my head.

"Her name is Maureen Mari...My little sister...."
