Adele - Episode 6

 

Adele walked into her office. Looking smart and beautiful in the skirt suit  she wore, her hair and makeup were nicely done. She sat down and looked around the office it was a well furnished room with two carved areas that makes it possible for two people to use, adele is going to be sharing the office with Mrs adepitan.
       
  A moment later mrs adepitan walked in, 'morning' she greeted  adele cheerfully 'morning ma' adele replied ' i hope you had a nice weekend'  mrs adepitan asked her,  i did thank you'.  In no time they both becaome friends . Mrs adepitan discover that she is a very humble and intelligent lady, who is not even aware of her charm. She felt motherly towards her, she decided to help her in any way she can so as to make her feel comfortable at work.
    Richard walked briskly in to his office looking impeccable in his expensive suits.  'adele let me see you in my office'  richard voice boomed through the intercom, adele left her sit knocked and enter his office 'i want you to make an arrangement for flowers and chocolate to be delivered to this address' he gave her gbemi office address  'Sir, what should be put on the card' 'just my name'  adele left his office thinking that the gift must be for his fiance or girlfriend 'she must be very pretty am sure' adele went to her corner to make the arrangement. 'how i wish  femi will even take the time to do some things like this' she mumbled she was still hurting from the last cancelled outing. 

     'Delivery for miss gbemisola' a delivery man carrying the flower and choclate came into gbemi's office, she received it with florish and when she saw the card she was even happier 'oh richard i know you love me, am sure' she said in a sing song voice she pulled out her phone and dialled richard's cell, 'hello gbemi' 'hi darling, i received the flowers and choclate thanks' she purred ' so when will i see you baby' m glad you like it but i can't see you for now, am swamped we are trying to work on a new software, so i need to concentrate' he said

       Richard was so busy through out the week, he had series of meetings, it adele that reminded him that he has not eaten that day, for she ordered snacks for him, he was very grateful when she brought in the food into his office after the meeting he had. 'Sir i brought some snacks' she said, entering with a tray containing juice and snacks. 'i don't know what you like sir, so i bought different varieties' he richard was not even bothered with that, for he is very hungry. He smiled  'am grateful don't worry i will eat anything you brought' he was deeply touched by her gesture.
   He smiled appreciatively at her, and adele was captured with his smile she can't help it but to stare, it not a news that richard is handsome but with the way he smiled right now she was just captivated, he was doing a staring of his own, he realized that he has not even looked at her properly before, today she was wearing a choclate brown skirt and a beige blouse, she had a cute pair of sandals on her feet, her waist was small, her hips curvy. Oh lord, i really should not be looking at her like that and thinking all kinds of salacious thought,  this was his personal assistant for heaven sake! He reproached himself silently. He thanked her and she left.
   
  It was getting late almost everybody had left the building, adele checked her time it was to seven she was playing game on her phone in other to keep herself from being bored.  Richard was still having a meeting with the board members, and so she could not leave the office until he grants her permission to do so.
  'so that will be all for now gentlemen' richard stepped ouut and saw adele still waiting 'am sorry, the meeting runned late i would have released you earlier; but you can go home now'  adele thanked him and left the building.
      she waited at the busstop for a cab, she checked her time and sighed to get a cab around the area at such time can be extremely difficult for it was already past 7pm. Her phone went off, she removed it from her handbag and received it 'hello darling'   'hi' gbemi responded 'am at your place and they said you are not yet back from work'  'yes am just about to get a cab, my boss had a late meeting and i can't leave without his permission thats why'  'is this how you are going to be coming home late, what sort of work is that'  he demanded. Adele was baffled with the way femi was sounding on phone, due to how they ended their conversation the last time they spoke. 'you have no right to be asking me that, you know how hard i searched for job before i finally got this one, and as a personal assistant i know working late atimes can not be avoided,  and besides am still mad at you' she  fired back at him.  Femi angrily disconnect the call, 'good riddance, bad rubbish' adele muttered.
      She has being waiting for long now she is getting tired of waiting when richard SUV came out of the building, he was surprised to still see her waiting at the busstop, he told his driver to slow down, he rolled down is window, 'adele get in' he did not leave her any room to argue.

. She entered the car, and sat besides richard. 'i thought you would have left by now'  'it a little bit difficult to get a cab at this time sir',  'where are you headed?' adele gave her house address, the car moved towards the direction.
  she was suddenly feeling shy, for richard is even more intimidating even at a closer range.  He was amused at the way she was docking her head to the other side,  'so tell me are you leaving alone or with your parents?' he asked her 'i leave with my aunty for my parents are late'  she replied shyly 'oh forgive me, am  sorry' 'it okay'  'so how are you finding your job' am enjoying it sir'  they lapse into silence both filled with their thoughts.   Richard was just carried away, he was just staring at her lips, how beautiful it looks, i wonder how it will taste like he fantasized, he shakes himself from the thought, i need to work on what mother said it time i take the bullet and get married again.
     The suv car pullef infront of adele's house 'thank you sir'  'it alright, goodnight' the car drove off. Adele strolled towards the house gate, when she heard her name she turned around, it was femi she was surprised to see him for she thought he would have left. ' I thought you've left, besides why are you waiting outside and not inside?'  'i decided to wait for you outside, so who brought you home, for i saw the car that you alighted from?' he demanded, 'it was my boss'  ' so your boss now drove you home? There is no more cabs outside uhn? Or is there something that is going on that i need to know?' he demanded angrily. Adele was stunned 'are you okay? What are you trying to insunate? I couldn't get a cab on time and he was kind enough to give me a ride, is there crime in that besides i don't even owe you any explanation'  she was so annoyed, she walked into the house without a glance back at him.
     Femi went to where he parked his car feeling very furious with himself 'i shouldn't have said that, dont even know what came over me' he entered his car  and left.    

    Adele was visibly disturb, she went straight into her room after greeting her aunty, she changed her cloth into a boxer's short and a spag top, she went to the kitchen to serve her meal and carried it to the sitting room where her bibiola is.
'how was work today? Femi came to ask after you'  bibiola told her, 'i saw him, he was waiting outside for me, saying all kind of rubbish' bibiola was shocked to know that femi waited outside 'but i thought he had already left',  'no he did not'  'just don't let him stress you okay, whatever it is you guys are going through' bibiola adviced her. Adele was grateful for what bibi said, without asking her for explanations. She finished her meal and turn in for the night.
    She called tiwalade, who was annoyed when she had about what femi did, 'you know i never really liked him, and thats the truth he takes you for granted, always busy with running errands for either is mum or dad, at his age! You deserve better my friend' she lamented. Tiwa ask her about her job and how she is coping 'and how is your hot looking boss? If he were to be my boss, i would be making gurgled eye at him' she giggled, 'and don't tell me you did not trip girlfriend'  adele giggled with her friend 'no i did not' she said lamely. They talked for a while before they ended the conversation.
       
     She always feels good anytime she talks with her friend, she has a way of taking her mind off issues that may worry her, she set her alarm for the next day and slept off this time with the thought of richard.
