Adele - Episode 9

 

The last five days felt like the longest days ever for the technology firm, the new antivirus software they are developing promises to be one of the best and as the saying goes, success don't come easy, so alot of time and energy was being put into it. It was with relief that the workers usher in the weekend, and adele was no exception, for she had being up and doing and being the personal assistant she had to work late sometimes.
   ' See you on monday' Mrs Adepitan waved at Adele and left the office. 
       Adele was packing her stuffs too when, Gbemi walked into the office. Adele saw the lady come in, she looked alluring and beautiful in the pant suit she wore,
   ' hello madam, how may i help you?' Adele addressed her,
 Gbemi sized her up and guess she must be the lady that Richard's daughter was talking about, she flicked her hair and answered her, 'am here to see your boss'. 
Adele was suprised with the possessive way that the lady was behaving, 
  'do you have an appointment with him madam?' 
'please stop questioning me, go in and tell him Gbemi wants to see him' she replied disdainfully. 
Adele was annoyed with the way she was talking to her but she kept her cool, what she could not understand was why the lady was behaving in such a rude manner to her, without even knowing her . Adele knocked on Richard's door and entered, he was about to leave his sit when Adele came in, ever since he and his daughter visited adele he can't just stop thinking about her, and he can no longer deny that he wants her not only for him but he knows she will be good for Ella as well. 
   'Hi, how may i help you?' richard asked her,
 'Sir there is a lady here to see you, her name is Gbemi'  
'What, Gbemi is here?, but she did not call me? Okay then let her come in' adele left to call Gbemi. 
Richard couldn't imagine why gbemi will come to his office without informing him, and besides he is tired of her constant demand for attention, he knows he will have to break up with her soon he has just not find the right imoment.
      Gbemi walked into his office, ' hello darling' how are you gbemi?, what brings you here, i was not expecting to see you' 
 'well, i decided to surprise you i thought you will be happy to see me, obviously i was wrong' she rolled her eyes .
 'it not that, i was just not expecting you, and you even came towards the closing hour'' richard replied.
 'well thats because i wanted to invite you for dinner at my place',
 '' but you could have called me to ask without having to come here, anyway i appreciate the offer but am sorry i will have to decline; am going to be working late''

. Gbemi was not happy with his response, for she was looking forward to spending time with him. 
     'how about tommorow then?' she asked, 'am fixed for tommorow, Gbemi am sorry, dnt worry i will make it up to you'. After persuading her, Gbemi left.

      Adele entered richard's office when she saw that gbemi has left, ''Sir, is there anything else you want me to do before leaving?'' she asked, 
''No thank you, that will be all for the day, you can go home, and i hope you remember your promise to adele for this weekend?'' 
 ''yes i do sir'',  
''okay then, good night'', 
''good night sir''.
     

       By the time adele got home, she was very tired, after droping the chocolate she brought for her siblings she went inside her room, leaving Tola and Tolu screaming thier thank you has she left. 
 She was removing her sandal when her phone starts ringing she saw Tiwa's cell number on the screen and she picked it, 'hi babe, how was work today? Are you home?'' 
 ''whats up Tiwa, work is fine o, just got home am even tired'' adele answered back, ''aww, sorry sweetie, i want to drop some stuff for you, am on my way to your house, i will soon reach you'' ''ok , i will be expecting you, drive safe''.
      She quickly removed her other clothings and head to the bathroom, after bathing she changed into shorts,and picked up the novel she was reading and lie down on the bed, she did not know when she slept off. 
 She was enjoying her dream when a hand shake her awake, 'wake up sleepy head' she heard tiwa say. ''by the way that must be a very sweet dream, with the way you are smiling in your dream'' adele blushed.
 ''wow girlfriend, tell me your dreams, or should i guess were you dreaming about your boss? OMG! you look guilty, am totally right''  tiwa exclaimed.
 '' i dont know what you are talking about' adele tried to sound convincing but she failed, tiwa snickered at her, 
''all right may be you are right'' adele grudginly conceeded. 
''ofcourse am right'' tiwa teased her further. 
  
     Tiwa updates her friend on what has been happening to her since the last time they spoke, and they chatted away, adele told her about the outing she has with ella and her boss the next day.
 ''Oh my, thats romantic'' tiwa batted her eyes at her, adele giggled.
 ''stop it, it just for ella it not like it a date with richard or anything'' adele replied.
 ''well keep telling yourself that, when you finally accept that you are in love with him, i will be here to tell you that i told you so''. 
After awhile tiwa decided it time she left, and she drop the provision she brought for her. ''i don't want you to look thin'' she joked.
 Adele was very happy, after thanking her they both walked outside, tiwa said her goodbyes and drove off.

     Richard got home very late, looking all worn out but on the bright side he knows the team is getting closer to achieving their aim on the new software they are developing and he is sure that when it hit the market the technological world will never be the same again, Smiled as he strolled into his bedroom.  
After his house boy had attended to him, he released him to go to bed for it already late, richard flicked on the television in his bedroom to see if he can still catch up with the late night news, he sat down on his bed to relax after he had his bath. He missed his daughter for by now she will crawl into his bed with her doll and they will talk about her day in school and in return he will read her bed time stories, after she might have doze off he will gently carry her back into her room, or atimes she will sleep with him thats their routine.  But  since the work on the new software they are developing is getting intense, he comes late from work and he had no other option than to allow his mother to take care of Ella anytime he knows he will be coming home late. 
   
  He decided to call his mother to see how his girl is doing, ''hello mum, did i wake you?'' 
''hello sweetie how are you? Am just about to sleep, i was doing some inventory''
 ''k mum just checking on you, and how is my baby?''  his mother chuckled for she knows it because of ella he really called.
 ''she is doing just fine darling, i just pet her to sleep for she was very excited about the outing for tomorrow, and by the way i will really like to meet this adele lady, ella can't stop talking about how nice and beautiful she is' 
Richard rolled his eyes, ''mum it late let me allow you to sleep, see you tommorow i love you mother, bye'' he ended the call before his mother could say another thing, He knows she will bring it up again when she sees him tomorrow, with that he switched off his bed side lamp and he slept off with the thought of one  certain beautiful lady on his mind.
