Adele - Episode 12

 

The awaited birthday dawn,  Adele looked radiant in a knee length blue wool armless gown, and she complete it with a black leather shoes and a matching handbag. She stepped out to the sitting room where her aunty was waiting for her, ''happy birthday dearie, and this is for your birthday'' bibiola extended a wrapped gift to her.  ''Aunty, thank you'', adele beamed at her . She openend it and saw that it was a fine Ankara print cloth, "aww am so grateful"
      She left the house with smile on her face which she carried to her office, and she was in such a good mood till work ended for the day. She was not really surprised when richard called her into his office for she suspect he will, due to the last conversation they had about her birthday.
         Richard smiled at her when she entered his office, ''hello birthday girl'.  Adele smiled shly at him, she has really begin to get seriously attracted to him, and she is confused on how to handle it. 'am doing alright sir, i even wanted to ask you if it alright to go home unless there is some errands you want me to run for you'.  'It alright for you to go home, but i actually called you because i will like to take you to dinner but if you are engage for the night let me know'  richard  looked expectantly at her, ' No i don't have any plans for tonight' she answered

      Adele was searching through her closet for what to wear for dinner when Tiwa walked in with a package, ' happy birthday dearie'  she hugged her as she present the package to adele, 'and this is for you'. Adele was extremely excited when she saw the lovely red gown that her friend brought. 'oh my God, this is so beautiful am even afraid to wear it.

Thanks girlfriend, funny enough i was thinking of what to wear to dinner tonight',  That got Tiwa's attention, 'you are welcome sis, but tell me who is taking you out to dinner, am sure it not femi' ' well it richard', '' wow so it richard now' Tiwa teased her, 'anyways am happy for you darling, am sure you will have a great time.''
    
       Adele put a final touch to her make up, she looked breathtaking in the gown that her friend gave to her.
"you look very beautiful" Richard told her when he came to pick her for their dinner date.
   He took her to one of the classic resturant in town, and they had a great time.  He loved the way she was conversing with Hum during dinner,  he got to know that she is an orphan.  He knew without doubt that Adele is not pretending and if things worked out the way he wants, he will definitely marry her. For the first time in a long while he his enjoying the company of a woman. 
 'I have a gift for you from Ella' he told her when they are heading back to adele's residence, 'wow thank her for me, thats so wonderful of her'  'Don't worry when i get home i will call you so that you can thank her yourself'  'That will be lovely',  'Thats settled then'.  They finally arrived at her place,  Adele turned towards richard to thank him for the wonderful dinner, 'I really had a great time, thank you so much'  'it alright, am glad you had a great time'  Richard came around to open the door for her, and thats was when it happened, Adele was not sure on how she found herself in a liplock with her boss but she is sure of the wonderful sensation travelling all over her body, and by the time richard released her mouth they were both dazed.  ''Sweetdreams dear, i will call you when i get home''.

     It was a dazed adele that entered her room, she was still reeling from the kiss. Althoug a part of her has being expecting the kiss but she was still not prepared for the effect of the kiss, and without doubt she knows she is falling for richard. By the time she finished cleaning up for the night she was feeling sleepy already, her phone started ringing the moment she lied down.  ''hello dear, it me am calling you as promised Ella will like to speak with you'', she heard richard say, after she spoke to ella and thanked her for the gift the phone was transferred back to richard, ''hey babe, let me allow you to sleep, but before i end the call i want you to know i enjoyed kissing you and i don't regret it, i hope you don't as well; for i intend to do it again and again but if you have any issue with that we will sit down to discuss it, but just so you know, i don't take no for an answer, sweetdreams''.
After the call she knew that there is no two ways to it she is very much in love with richard, everything about him  draws her in more. Adele knew what her answer will be when the time comes , the only thing that is giving her concern is richard's ex-girlfriend, she  just has a sense of feeling that gbemisola will not let go easily. ''let me just stop worrying and sleep, am sure it nothing'' she mumbled to her self.
